Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

memphis I found it hard to get to grips with and it's hard to do the back (always is!) but I think if I spent time doing it it would turn out well. It's good for volume which is what I need.

Had a v good time at the cinema. D was a good as gold for FIL and granny C I'll call her because step mil sounds like I don't like her!

CakeandRoses · 22/01/2012 19:42

rant chul

memphis83 · 22/01/2012 19:46

chul whats happened?

My dad is still in hospital, I saw him yesterday, he didnt want to brush his hair while he was in there, its coming out everytime he touches it and he doesnt want it going while he is in there, he said one good brush and he will be bald, I welled up when I touched it and a loads came off, but my best friend in the world evers gf is pregnant, im so happy I shed a tear! they are getting married next spring, and have both started new businesses recently so its scary times for them and early days too but they had to tell me as we are out on sat for a meal and drinks so she had to tell me! happy happy happy!

I bought a twin stroller off of ebay, a mamas and papas one, she payed over £200 for it and I got it for £45 its mint, looks like its never been used, ahe bought it for when she looked after her nephew but her sister gave up work within weeks so she never has him! Its for mums for my niece and L, and mum said later on foe number 2 and niece and L on a buggy board :)

Just had a lovely bath, dh is snoring next to me, This week I plan on doing two things I havent done since I had L, im going to eat fruit and read a book! Grin cant believe I have done neither in 18 months, 7 more days of being 28!

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/01/2012 19:51

chul go on rant away, it'll make you feel better!

memphis that must be hard for your dad :( congrats on your friend's pregnancy and wedding. I can't wait for my best friend to have a baby, she reckons it'll be within the year woo!

Chulita · 22/01/2012 19:54

He's apologised profusely so s'all water under the bridge. I was fuming though! Don't like ranting on here cos it always makes him out to be really rubbish when he isn't, we've just had a really full-on weekend with L and he doesn't handle it well.

memphis your poor dad, any chance of him getting out next week?
Great news about your friend though, I always get excited about friends being pg.

memphis83 · 22/01/2012 20:06

chulita I know what you mean, h is really great but on the rare occasion he isnt it sounds awful (well shitting in the bath WAS awful) They had put his chemo back but now they have put it back to next week as after his first session the scan shows it has already shrunk! so now they have put it back to this week, they dont want to give it a chance to grow again, he hopefully will be out tomorrow but treatment starts tues so I dont know.
Th is my first REAL friend that has hd a baby, im so so happy for them, he asked me if its normal for pregnant woment to be mardy! then said she has just asked me to ask you what a pelvic floor excercise is Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 22/01/2012 20:12

What is a plelvic floor exercise? Confused

Grin

So pleased your dad's tumour has shrunk already, that's great.

Chul I know what you mean too. DH is usually lovely, but you never spill about the nice things (usually) and then when they do some thing wrong you need to get it off your chest - I worry I paint a bad picture of dh too, but he's great really.

memphis83 · 22/01/2012 20:15

mlic I know what a pelvic floor exercise is but not a plelvic?! Grin

With chicken pox do the spots come out as soon as they feel ill or after the most contagious time?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 22/01/2012 20:34

Shush you or I'll have to criticise your 'excercise' Wink

I definitely should have done more of them, I know that much.

I don't know tbh - I'm just on high alert. They usually feel ill after they get spots, I only know that from the ones who have it now from the nursery.

Tsc- that sounds amazing I'd love to do that one year. I've always said to dh that one year when the kids are older and able to amuse themselves I'd love to go away somewhere with friends for Xmas. Just one year not do the family thing and have a really relaxed fun Xmas.

D has now taken to waking up at 6ish and not going back to sleep. So not only do I get barely an hour of eve to myself I get no 'lie in' either grrr!

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/01/2012 07:16

Just read that back, I meant go away with friends but take our children with us not just leave them somewhere while we go off!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 23/01/2012 07:37

I love winter wonderland, it's beautiful

I knew what you meant dh :) I've always said that about New Year. I hate New Year so would love to just go away somewhere with friends and their kids and make it exciting. Unfortunately the cost of accommodation goes through the roof for that period so I have never been able to justify it so far.

No spots overnight (at least E hasn't, W went back to sleep after he woke at 6am so I haven't checked him yet) so at least they can go to their creche session this afternoon. Phew.

CakeandRoses · 23/01/2012 08:54

morning!

that sounds lovely tsc. the sauna will be super to have.

i'm a funny old mare tho and have never been sure about sharing with other families - we've always wriggled out of invites to go away with friends! i guess you have to have to have the right kind of friends...and their dhs and dcs. i'd imagine i'd get sick of saying no, F you can't have orange squash just because the other are etc and no, dh you can't disappear for a beer all evening just cos the others are not laid back Grin

winter wonderland sounds great too but because we always go away for a week over new year i don't fancy going away twice in dec. mind you i suppose we could just go for a weekend. can we?

Yes, go for the weekend cake! We always go mon - fri but might be see you on the 'overlap', depending on when we book :)

memphis83 · 23/01/2012 17:28

Evening all!

DH is coming home as ome lads started a forklift and flipped the container containing half a million pounds of equiptment in it so he couldnt do anything but survey the damage so im happy!

My dad is home and bald :( chemo starts in the morning.

And after pushing L and my niece in a double pushchair up a hell of a hill child number 2 is not on the cards for a while, it killed me!

mlic spelling doesnt bother me like it does you, which good as dh is illiterate and couldnt even spell L's middle name when he was first born, so ive learnt to ignore most...apart from when he texts cheers its 'chears' no matter how many times I tell him, he argues as long as I know what hemeans its ok, I have my work cut out with L as I will be the only one teaching him to read and write!

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/01/2012 17:42

Glad your dad is home memph I'm sure he'll feel a lot more comfortable.

What's everyone's meal plans this week? The only day I've got covered is tomorrow which will be a chicken stir fry. I need inspiration!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 23/01/2012 18:26

Glad he's out of hospital.

Tonight, chachouka (onions and peppers cooked in spices, with then baked with a tomato sauce and eggs on the top - tis delish) and homemade low fat chips
Tomorrow, fake sausage casserole with jacket potato, sprouts, broccoli and sweetcorn
Wednesday, something puff pastry-ey with vegetables. Haven't decided what exactly
Thursday, erm...not sure
Friday, pasta or spaghetti with garlic bread
Saturday, going to give a slimming world curry a try...bit nervous 'bout that.
Sunday, dunno. DH is at the football so maybe pizza when he's home.

The chachouka sounds v nice mlisc! I'd prob have to put some sort of meat with it for dh.

Tsc- I was looking up risotto recipes earlier, I really want to make a chicken one I love creamy dishes like that. I made a beef stroganoff from scratch once and was v proud of it and it was delish but dh didn't like it much :(
