Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

memphis I don't know if it's good news or not that L's blood tests have come through clear! At least that's one thing ruled out I guess. Hope you get some answers soon.

mlisc I love surestarts I think they help so many mums who would otherwise be stuck at home going insane.
All the mums know each other at mine so when there's gossip it spreads like wildfire!

I did manage a lie in, D woke at 6:55 ugh so dh got up with him at about 7:10 and I had another hour.

memphis83 · 21/01/2012 08:52

trudy hope it all comes through ok and they get you an appointment really quickly.
mlic they sound really great to you, I need tolook at sure start groups in this area, I an still able to go to my old group in old area but cant join anymore.
chulita really hope you get some decent sleep soon you sound like your really struggling :(

DH has gone to work, he will be back by 12 but L hates him going out once he has been away, think he is scared he wont come back so I have had a screaming boy at the front door crying for his Daddy!

L slept for 12 hours straight last night

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/01/2012 08:57

Morning all.

DS1 got chucked back in his own room when he tried to climb in at 1.30am and ds2 woke at 5am but I gave him a bottle so he went back to sleep. DS1 got a sticker for going back to bed like a good boy.

Mama is back in charge Grin

memphis83 · 21/01/2012 09:51

mlic Grin

Keep forgetting to ask, we use a lamp in L's room as he hates it totally dark, we use a touch one on the dimmest setting but I dont feel safe with it on all night as its just adecorative one from Next, is there a safe childrens nightlight I can get that is safe to keep on all night?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/01/2012 10:05

E has a gro clock which tells him when it's time to get up - through the night it has a big blue screen which is a nightlight, but because it's blue it's not bright iyswim.

memphis83 · 21/01/2012 10:10

Hmm think I may need a bit brighter then, his monitor has a nightlight maybe I should try that, but im sure thats too dim too?

Chulita · 21/01/2012 11:24

Grin mlisc welcome back Wink

L didn't settle til 11 then up 1-1.30, 3-4 and S up at 6.30. I leapt out of bed as soon as he warbled cos I needed L to get as much sleep as she can. DH got up at 9 and I went back to bed again for an hour, he's taken them out for 30 mins so I'm enjoying the peace. Tonight I'm priming DH that he's doing all the wake-ups and the morning get-up, I honestly can't take another night like that. He's under a huge amount of stress at work at the mo which is why I didn't hassle him last night but one night's enough (even though the poor man looks exhausted...)

There's currently a debate over which one of our 4 children's centres to close, I use 2 of them all the time so I'm crossing my fingers it's neither of those. Thing is when one's closed the other ones get seriously busy so regardless of who closes we'll all be overrun!

memphis I bought L one of these turtles when she was about 18mths and they both love it. (so do I actually, quite tempted to buy one for my room Grin ) It's on a timer though so probably wouldn't work for your L, my L has the Onaroo sleep training clock which is pretty bright even without the nightlight function and is plenty bright enough with the nightlight on. It's obviously too advanced for our little ones but it would do its job when he gets older and won't stay in bed and until then would be a good nightlight.

emsie have fun meeting the dog!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/01/2012 12:09

W his this one chul. They both love it. Actually that's a good plan, I might tell E if he's a good boy and stays in bed every night for a week I'll get him one!

Chulita · 21/01/2012 13:33

The twilight turtle I linked to also do a ladybird and a sea turtle
The ladybird's not a girly one either so it's good for either I reckon, I liked the turtle but of course when L saw the box she wanted the ladybird.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/01/2012 16:24

in all de fuzzed and looking boootiful!

Glad to be home and sitting with a cuppa now.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/01/2012 16:24

Im*

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/01/2012 18:28

My friend who was here on Thursday has just text me to say it looks like her son has chickenpox. Mine are going to get spotty soon aren't they? :(

WhatSheSaid · 21/01/2012 18:36

My friend's son came out with chicken pox on Friday mlisc and we saw them on Tuesday. We are meant to be flying on holiday on Wednesday... otherwise I would be quite happy for G to get it now (A had it at 10 months)

Chulita · 21/01/2012 18:58

I don't want mine to get it til I've had Frijol and preferably after he's about 6 months old. We've had a couple of close shaves but so far they've escaped. I wouldn't mind except I'm exhausted as it is and the thought of the pox on top of that

Chulita · 21/01/2012 18:59

dh I love post-hairdresser hair, can't ever get the look myself. My neighbour saw me right after the last cut and said how lovely my new style was...it's never been even remotely close to that since, I am officially rubbish with styling my own hair :(

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/01/2012 21:17

Ah same here chul I think it's the way they blow dry it using a round brush and lifting the roots.

mlisc yes def better for them to get it young but can see why it's te last thing you need right now. Fingers crossed they haven't caught it yet.

memphis83 · 22/01/2012 10:29

DHhave you used your big hair yet? I want one for my birthday and wanted your view on it, think cakes has one too?

mlic got my fingers crossed for no spots in your house.

L slept for 12 hours then DH took him out and Ive just woken up!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 22/01/2012 12:02

Well memph my friend's little boy errupted more spots overnight so definitely has them. I will be amazed if we don't get them, he will have been at his most contagious when he was round here on Thursday. Hey ho, what will be will be. It just means I'll have to keep E off school, which is probably going to hinder the settling in process :(

Very ealous of your sleep. I've been up since 6.50 with mine but they did both sleep through for the first time in ages so can't complain.

Watched a good film last night. Cell 211. But it's in spanish and is a bit violent so not everyone's cup of tea!

CakeandRoses · 22/01/2012 12:31

memph according to s&b they're a tenner in wilkos atm! i don't use mine much as i prefer my hair more shaggy and au naturel but it does work v well for little effort.

CakeandRoses · 22/01/2012 12:37

just uploaded a pic to the fb group for you memph

memphis83 · 22/01/2012 12:45

cakes they were £20 but they arent online and between my family and friends I think we have been to about 30 wilkos and none have any. so £45 it will be from boots! gutted as they were 27 before xmas, even on ebay they are 27!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 22/01/2012 13:01

They're £30 on amazon

Chulita · 22/01/2012 14:30

mlisc I just made cauliflower cheese and added mustard and DH liked it. He hasn't liked cauliflower cheese ever in his whole life so thank you, at last I can cook one of my favourites without him sniffing at it Grin

I love my bbh but since I got this new 'do' it doesn't work quite as well, need to grow it a bit first.

L's sleeping is still crap, both DH and I are clinging on by our fingernails at the mo. I'd love to have my parents down so we could do something just the two of us, I don't feel I've 'seen' DH since the one night we had away in June.
