Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
memphis83 · 13/01/2012 13:43

woodlands I thank you so much for flagging it up, Since we have thought it could be that I have seen so much stuff for gluten free, My best friend and his siblings are coeliac, his gf finds it ok to cook its just re training your chef skills, she finds buying the bread dear so she used that excuse to but a kitchen aid to help bake her own.....this is something i need to think about Grin

viksam · 13/01/2012 13:51

memphis and mylife i can also totaly sympathise. Thank god dh does that last feed so i can go to bed 'early' although last night he was at the pub till 10, i was dying to get into bed and i almost ran up the stairs when he got home! I was woken at 1.30 by F and then again at 3.50, just as i was getting him settled after his feed D started screaming, dh got up so i left him to deal with him......untill i heard dh in the bathroom and i thought uhoh, whats happened, D had been sick in a BIG WAY, we had to change everything, poor boy, it was mostly rasins and grapes, i dont remember giving him lots but clearly they wernt digested at all. He has been so tired this morning, should have put him down for a morning nap i think but we didnt and hes sleeping now. I really hope he hasnt got a bug, hes hardly eaten anything today, possible more to do with what im offering him than how he feels, i bet he would eat 10 sausages if i gave them to him!!
Dylthan that sucks a big one about the job, im sorry about it for you.
mylife i never go into DP but maybe i should, bring on my shopping trip next week! OK, what i want to know is A)where do u get the time to cook what sounds like fantastic meals B) where do u get the energy, i seriously can hardly be arsed to brown off mince and put it in the slow cooker! and C) where do u get your ideas from? Do u decide what you want to eat and then shop for the stuff or just use what you have in the house?
chu 9 weeks is going to go mega fast! Is there anything you want to do before the baby comes? Is it a boy? im sorry i cant remember! Do u have a name? You will be pleased to hear i am one step closer to baking ur banana muffins, i brought the ingredients and a muffin tray yesterday so im all set, i just wish i could buy inclination and energy from the supermarket too!!
Im going for a kip now, last time i went for a kip i didnt wake up untill 5pm!! Poor dh does really well dealing with both boys, he puts me to shame in a lot of ways.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/01/2012 14:10

Sorry snouts everyone's rubbish nights, mine wasn't much better. D was in our bed and woke several times.
He's better now after the teething and illness etc. I put him in bed for a nap and he was messing around so I shut the door, he cried, I went in put him in bed and said sleepy time and shut the door and I went to bed because I was so tired. My phone woke me 20 mins later so I v v carefully opened D's extremely noisy door handle and he had gone to sleep, all by himself!!!! For the first time ever, he'll only do it though if the door is shut right up because he knows he can't get out and he still only slept half an hour but still it's a hell of a step forward.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/01/2012 14:11

About*

Dylthan · 13/01/2012 14:33

dh well done D it is most definently a huge step forward.

Memphis I'm so glad you are finally getting some answers.

chulita what sling is it you have lost? I have a moby wrap sling you can have if you want.

The feedback from the job interview was that I had less knowledge of how the ADU ran compared to the other candidate ( even though I've been there longer I was on maternity leave last year so have perhaps not found my feet properly yet so it is probably a fair enough point) but then they went on to say that one for one of the management questions I said I would refer to the senior tech which I never bloody well said Angry dh says they have probably got the feedback for me and one of the other candidates mixed up but that just seems so unprofessional if they have dosn't it? Anyway I'm off today and they said they would give me proper feedback on Monday when I'm back. I'm just disappointed because they were the ones pushing me to apply for the job.
With NHS funding as it is god knows when an opportunity like this will come up again :(

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 16:26

Memph I am so pleased for you. At last they're finally bloody listening!

Vik - A)where do u get the time to cook what sounds like fantastic meals - I just do it - I basically ignore the children and just do it Grin B) where do u get the energy, i seriously can hardly be arsed to brown off mince and put it in the slow cooker! I sometimes don't have the energy so we get a takeaway, but generally I prefer homecooked food so try to cook and C) where do u get your ideas from? Depends - this week I picked up Hugh Dearnley Whittingstall's veg cookbook and picked 7 meals out of it! Do u decide what you want to eat and then shop for the stuff or just use what you have in the house I meal plan before I go shopping, check what I have in cupboards first then buy what I don't have to make the recipes

TSC you're quiet atm, you ok?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 16:31

BTW do you remember me telling you about the little old lady over the road who died last year? She had not long lost her husband? It was in the local paper tonight that she committed suicide. It has made me feel incredibly sad :(

memphis83 · 13/01/2012 16:44

mlic is that Hughs new veg book? does your DH eat veg without moaning? That poor old lady you rarely hear of old people comitting suicide, so sad that she must have felt so lonely for probably the first time in her life after a life with her husband :(

L is wearing his wellies, he loves them, shame he can barely walk in them! waiting for DH to return, we have watched beauty and the beast this afternoon

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/01/2012 17:24

mlisc that's sad about your neighbour :( she must have been so lonely without her husband.

Well D has completely and utterly lost my door keys. I keep them on the table in the hall which is low. He must have played with them when we got home this morning while I was putting my shopping away. I've looked absolutely everywhere, in bins, toilets, beds, drawers I really don't know where else to look. I've been searching for the past 2 hours since I noticed. We've got 4 rooms and a hallway in this flat and ive scoured every inch of all of them. If i didn't need them to get in I'd assume I've lost them. It's a door key which opens the external and internal doors and the post box key a few key rings etc which isnt a prob to replace but I've got a lovely pic of D when he was about 9 months old as a key ring which I'd hate to lose :( I feel like I'm going insane and that they're actually in a really obv place.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/01/2012 18:49

Ok panic over we've found them, in a cardboard box with a load of rubbish in which I did look in earlier. Taking that down the tip first thing tomorrow and buying key hooks for the wall!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 19:25

My two have both scared me like that dh :)

Memph he has little choice! He hates beans and pulses so I draw the line and save him there, but he's a bloke who eats no meat except chicken and no fish...so what choice does he have Wink

Yes it is his new book. I think it's really good, but a bit on the 'summer'y side iyswim, lots of salads etc. But there is a fair bit of stodge too. This biryani had better be nice as it's a right fuck on to make!

W won't keep wellies on. I tried at CPs but nope he just kept kicking them off. BTW did I mention we're going again in June...? Grin

Chulita · 13/01/2012 19:38

memphis that's a great positive step, I find it incredible how different each doctor is - some will completely ignore what you're saying and others will write out a prescription for whatever you ask. So good that you're getting L and yourself tested on Monday but I hope this weekend goes well despite shovelling him full of what could be the main trigger.

dylthan that is really unprofessional if they did mix the two up, is there any way you could mention that? or is it just one of those things.
The sling I lost is a Sleepybaby wrap that's just like the Moby, I'm happy to buy it off you if you don't need it anymore, have searched the house and simply can't see where I've put it. I might have lent it to someone and forgotten who...

mlic those meals sound so different to what I cook, tasty but they just sound like hard work iyswim. Grin I'd love to do more veggie stuff though cos much as I love the taste of meat, it's so expensive and we try to buy the better quality stuff from butchers who know the farmers etc so that raises the price. I should get on and learn some veggie meals.
So sad about your neighbour, it must be so, so tough when you've been together for so long and you're old/feel like there's no one left. Poor lady.

dh well done D! Getting himself to sleep is such a big thing in the sleep battle!

viks I hope it goes quick! Not going to pgcy whinge to you all again, don't worry! This one's another boy, we like the name Benaiah despite knowing about 6 or 7 Benjamins. We've liked the name for a long time so had a rumble around other names but still like it. Can't believe your F slept from 10 til 1.30 Shock Poor D though, no fun at all.

S has started waking around 5 again Angry no idea why but he'd better sort himself out soon.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/01/2012 19:41

chul what do you do when he wakes at 5? Do you have to go into him?

Just put D to bed, said night night and left the room and shut the door. Strange he likes it pitch black, I thought children liked a bit of light. He's not crying but he's not asleep either. Just listening and waiting.

Chulita · 13/01/2012 19:42

I'm alright thanks cake, L's sleeping great but S is being a bit difficult. I'm so much more tired with this one than I remember being with S but then I had a nap every day when L went down whereas now I'm up at least once a night, then awake early and can't rest til bedtime and it's kicking my arse! Definitely don't want to be pg again in a hurry (if at all!)

Chulita · 13/01/2012 19:44

I've been going into him now that they're in the same room. L all of a sudden is sleeping through all sorts of noise but she has her limits. She's very good at just going back to sleep but S wants to be up and whines til I get him up.
I found with both of mine they've liked it as dark as we can get. L has only recently started talking about eyes under the bed...not sure where that's come from but hopefully it won't mutate into anything silly!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 20:05

Chul, E has got 'bedbugs' from something he saw on the tv. And they're learning about polar bears at preschool so that little combination isn't great at bedtime/overnight :(

The biryani is...quite nice. But not outstanding. My problem is I don't like plain meal. I like rich, tasty indulgent meals so can only cope with one spaghetti/cottage pie type meal a week.

Caponata is a veg (mainly aubergine) stew memph

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/01/2012 20:22

Oooh it didn't work :( he kept coming out the room. As soon as I shut the door he was out of bed and opening it.
Tried about 5 times but just sat with him in the end because he was getting so worked up. He's obv not ready although he was fine for his nap grr!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 21:15

Sorry it didn't work dh. I love that our door handles are high up, E was about 2 and a half before he could reach them!

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/01/2012 09:02

Well after that he completely didn't trust me to stay with him so when he woke at half 9 he would drift off then open his eyes to make sure I was there. I tried for half an hour with no luck so it seems to have put me a step backwards.

I don't get how he can go to sleep all alone for his nap but not at bedtime.

memphis83 · 14/01/2012 09:17

dh what about a baby gate on his door so he cant leave his room? L has his room pitch black in the day for his naps but wont sleep without a lamp at night, if you sneak in and turn it off then within minutes he is screaming, its funny how the differ from night and daytime naps!

We had an indian last night and it was horrible, plus all that money and I could hardly eat any as I was full quickly, DH says my face is slimmer! Grin

Got the dentist this morning to start my new veneer so my smile wont be as ugly hopefully by my birthday!
L woke a few times in the night but I didnt go to him, I made DH as he has missed out on it all week and is away again from Monday, Im going to lie in tomorrow til late and if he talks on the phone loud as he normally does im coming down the stairs like an ogre and shouting! then we are going swimming. I ordered a personalised tractor money box from place mil work, she was suppost to pick it up a week ago and didnt stupid f-ing cow

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/01/2012 12:27

Yeah memph that might be a good idea.
Hope your veneers turn out well, you don't have an ugly smile though!

memphis83 · 14/01/2012 13:10

Just the one veneer on a twisted tooth dh but one day I would love a full mouth of them! didnt actually have something doneas its a new dentist and he wants it to be prfect so he wants to take the root from the tooth first, so the friday before my birthday im in there for an hour and a half appointment! ouch!
L is in bed and dh is on his way home as the job was frozen off, if weatehr stays like this he wont be staying away after all next week!

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/01/2012 19:19

What a nice birthday present! Hope it goes well, I've never had anything like that so wouldn't know what happens or if it hurts, let's hope not!

D had 40 mins nap today and spent the afternoon round mils house then FIL then had KFC. Just about to ship D off to bed then me and dh are going to try to get me preg, so romantic lol.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 14/01/2012 19:51

Haha! Erm, good luck dh!

Memph the last takeaway indian curry I got was disgusting too. I'm going to try this one next instead I think

Dh had parmo and chips for tea and I had roasted aubergines with chilli and garlic, sweet potato and chips and it was scrummy. Now I have a bag of onion rings to devour

Both children have been hideous challenging today. So now I'm chilling with a glass of red and watching Horrible Bosses, reminding myself why working is worse that being at home with two young children all day Grin

memphis83 · 14/01/2012 20:22

mlic thatcurry looks nice I may try it but without the whole spices, not keen on cinnamon and star aniese.
We had a gammon joint with new potatoes and cauli cheese! we went for a walk down the locks today it was lovely but L's teeth are giving him jip. FIL has rang already saying about him coming at silly o clock for a cuppa dh has said no we will come to you later in the day, he promised a day just us 3 tomorrow so im pissed off
