Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 11/01/2012 20:58

I put ds2 to bed with a (baby) quilt a few nights ago. In case anyone cares Grin He seems ready, finally. He's woken once overnight but he has been for about a week anyway as a bttom molar is breaking.

Chulita · 11/01/2012 21:13

viks S is really acting up too, really disobedient and does it with a really cheeky grin thinking he can get away with it. He also seems to be permanently knackered despite sleeping reasonably well (apart from our 5am wake up today)
I loved our sling with S but I can't find it since we moved. DH has no idea where it is and I'm panicking a bit, don't want to buy a new one but used it from week one so need to find it in the next 9 weeks...not sure where to look next but honestly, with his reflux it was a godsend.

I want to try S with a quilt mlisc but haven't dared yet, not sure why just haven't got around to it. He's got loads of room left in his grobag though so there's no rush!

viksam · 11/01/2012 21:20

chu Not glad that your also having the same issues but it makes me feel better, how do u handle his disobedience? Why do u think they seem tired all the time and do u think its a factor in their behavour? 9 WEEKS!!! is that all you have left? wow, thats gone quick man!! Hope u find ur sling, mine is borowed and i wish id have had one for D now, it might just have helped with his colic.
BED IS CALLING................please stay asleep D!!!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 11/01/2012 21:20

He had loads of room too as he was in 18mo+ bags, but he started to hate it when I put him down and zipped it up. And I'd started noticing him getting on my bed all the time and pulling the covers over himself, so I knew he wouldn't let himself get cold.

I have a mai tai I'll be putting on ebay if that's any good to you? Ony used half a dozen times

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/01/2012 08:22

vik god yes D is yawning as soon as he gets up in the morning. He's always moaning unless he's eating. I wonder if he actually needs the food or if it's because of his teeth or tiredness. Hes not been v good at night but nothing out the ordinary so don't know why ds suddenly so tired now.

When we were at the zoo yesterday he walked around the play area for a while but then started crying for no apparent reason. I gave him loads of food. He moaned on and off all the way round after that. I had to drive for nearly an hour to get home because of dropping a friend off and he didn't fall asleep so he can't have been that tired. His hands felt cold so it could have been that, he was in 4 long sleeved layers because he's such a wimp with the cold.
All I can guess is that his molars are causing him pain which is why he wants to eat all the time. His naps are still avg 40 mins and he goes to sleep for bedtime really well, was under 10 mins last night he just doesn't stay asleep past 10.

CakeandRoses · 12/01/2012 08:54

justa quickie as already late for work but believe it or not, i'm not the last to do something with my ickle baby for a change - A's had a quilt for months! she was swaddled for ages then had the pekemoe and then grew out of that at around 1yo, since then she's had a quilt. she rarely kicks it off.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/01/2012 10:43

Yeah to be honest Cake I was surprised how long he had his for. His brother was out of his before 1yo. W just never seemed happy out of his so I kept with it.

Drum roll....they both slept through last night! Woo hoo! Well ds1 got up at 6.25 but I can live with that!

I went into town for a little something for my friend's 30th tomorrow and a card. I bought myself Blush a dress and a pair of tights, £15 for the lot, a bracelet for her reduced from £8.50 to £3.50 and a different bracelet for my other friend who turns 30 in May reduced from £10 to £4.50. Bargain! I have also lost one of two different pairs of black 'going out earrings' and saw some reduced from £10 to £2.50 so got them for me! So I got £28.50 worth of jewellery for £10.50 although I do want to keep one of the bracelets for myself

viksam · 12/01/2012 14:36

Goodness mylife those were bargains!! Where was the dress from? When i have lost my baby weight i might start wearing some different stuff, i never wear dresses but defo want to be a little more lady like!! Im going into brum next week when we go home and i cant wait, i havent got the money but I really want some black boots and some leggins and maybe a dress! Hope the sales are still on.
dh why do u think they are tired all the time? and my D cries for no aparrent as well and seems grumpy quite often too. I worry that im not giving him a varied enough diet or that when i think he is sleeping he isnt. He's gone down ok from the cm's though today so i just hope he has a better behaved afternoon and a better night. He woke three times last night all before 12 but then he slept through till 8.20 when i had to wake him for the cm!

Dylthan · 12/01/2012 17:51

I didn't get the job. I'm devastated :(

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/01/2012 18:59

Oh Dylthan I'm so sorry :(

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/01/2012 19:24

vik after saying D is miserable all the time he's actually been really good today Blush it was def his top molars breaking through that was making him so grumpy. But generally I find D needs to get out the house at least once a day or he goes crazy with pent up energy.

dylth sorry you didn't get the job :(

memphis83 · 12/01/2012 19:54

dylthan so sorry :(
mlic L has had a quilt for 6 months, he has always slept better with something upround his ears! we =ll done to the boys for sleeping!

Had a sill busy day at work, didnt get a drink or food so just ruined my diet with a greasy tea! had to go to the cemetery on way home and ended up covered in mud, not a good look coming from the cemetery looking like a tramp! there was an accident between mine and mums house, I was stuck in traffic and couldnt get hold of my mum, i was convinced it was mum and L, I was bawling by the time I got hold of her, turns out she was freaking out thinking the same as she got to mine and I wasnt home!

Anyones kids attatched to a toy? L is in love with 2 basic cars, he takes them everywhere, even holds his bottles between them! ver cute but scared he will lose one, I know chulsL has her bear!

Chulita · 12/01/2012 20:16

dylthan sorry to hear that, 'tis truly rubbish. I'm of the 'if it didn't happen it wasn't meant to be' brigade but still rubbish. Hopefully something else will come up soon.

viks when he's disobedient I follow through by making him do what I ask. A right pita though cos atm I'm constantly exhausted so getting off my fat ass to make him do stuff is really difficult. He's starting to get better at putting stuff away but hasn't learnt to come when called/lie still at nappy change etc. L was the same though, I think I breed tantruming stubborn disobedient children like me Grin

Yep, L's got her Bear :) S has a monkey with a blanket that he won't sleep without and clings to when he's ill but nothing he's attached to during the day (thank goodness, couldn't be dealing with two overly dependant children).

mlisc that sounds like a right bargain!
S is still in 6-18mth grobags but they're huge so he's got tons of room. I just like the look of a quilt, very snuggly, and when he stands up in bed he gets irritated at the way the bag prevents him from standing properly. I might change him out soon but once you do that he's deffo not a baby anymore!

Chulita · 12/01/2012 20:16

and viks, no it freaking hasn't gone quick, not.at.all.

Chulita · 12/01/2012 20:19

I have 4 different carriers/slings already but the one I really like and actually use (apart from the ergo) is the one I can't find so thanks for the offer mlisc but I really just need to find this one. DH helpfully suggested under the stairs...along with half the world...

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/01/2012 20:44

No worries Smile

Vik it was a tunic style dress from Dorothy Perkins, but I don't remember what make it is. Tights from New Look

Dylthan I know it's probably no consolation, but I am defo with Chul in the 'what is meant to be, will be' camp. I hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Memph, E used to be very attached to two teddies (Oscar and Molly), but doesn't even bat an eyelid if they're not in his bed now. W isn't attached to anything, but tbh I find that quite strange Confused

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/01/2012 21:12

D isn't attached to anything in partic, he has his favs which are ALL cars/trains/ buses and balls of all sizes he loves a good kick around.

Re duvets, D has had ours when sleeping in our bed all his life occasionally and in his bed he has a normal 13 tog single duvet.

CakeandRoses · 12/01/2012 23:16

oh crap dylth. did you get any feedback as to why you didn't get it? hope something better comes up for you soon.

F was always attached to 'rabbit' and 'bear' (original naming eh?) but he's not as obsessed as he was. he still always sleeps with them tho.

A's recently got attached to a Bambi stuffed toy and sleeps (and very awkwardly bfs) with her arms round him. he's of course known as... Bambi.

how you feeling at the mo chul? are they sleeping any better?

i'll try to get round to writing a survey soon - must be due one.

memphis83 · 13/01/2012 09:04

I went to bed at half 8 last night, but im still so tired, L woke at 9.30. 10.15,1,2,3 and 6.45, think its because he is hungry as he isnt eating and also he is missing dh, dh always does the night routines and L doesnt like me doing it, never wants me to read or sit in his room. and dh dropped it on me last night that he is working saturday but is also away all next week, think it will kill me having to do so many wake ups on my own waking at the rate he is!

First week back at baby group today, but before that we have the doctors,im not feeling strong today as im so tired, I hope I still go all guns blazing! Spoke to a mum yesterday at work and her docs refused allergy testing or even a pead referal so she sat in the waiting room all day until they listened to her, it turned out her ds had allergy to wheat, egg, dairy and fish!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 09:32

I can sympathise memph. W was up 3.15 to 4.15am and I'm sure it's because e refused to have any tea last night. And that is probably because his bottom molar is hurting. I'm knackered. Going to have something to eat then maybe try and have a little nap.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 13/01/2012 10:36

Meal planning anyone? I've just done mine for the next 7 days as I need to go shopping this afternoon:

Tonight - Vegetable biryani
Saturday - Me - Roast Aubergine 'boats', DH - homemade pizza
Sunday - out for lunch, will just have 'picky' bits for tea
Monday - Hugh FW's North African squash and chickpea stew
Tuesday - Upside down caramilised onion tart and homemade chips
Wednesday - Veggie sausages, sweet potato & peanut gratin and roasted brussels with shallots
Thursday - Caponata and crusty bread (and maybe a hard boiled egg or two)

CakeandRoses · 13/01/2012 11:19

Goo luck memph. will be thinking of you at the docs. x

memphis83 · 13/01/2012 13:29

mlic no meal plan for me as dh is again next week again (grr) so it will be m and s specials again! Im starting to think I would benefit more being a single mum the amount he is going to be at home from now on! But what is caponata? the gratin sounds lovely and the tart where are you getting the recipes?

we FINALLY have answers! I didnt have to kick off either he said straight away reading his notes it sounds like coeliacs! he is going into the childrens hospital for tests on Monday, but it takes 10 days to get results, I have to feed him a high wheat diet all weekend to aggrivate his intestines to show up on the tests, they said from there if it is positive they will test me as I have IBS chances are I really have coeliacs and refer me to a dietician to help with menus for him, and if its negative we have ruled out one thing and he will be refered to find out what is wrong with him! so im fe3eling very happy eventhough im dreading them taking blood from my boy!

Woodlands · 13/01/2012 13:34

Ah memphis sounds like I might have been right with my amateur diagnosis! The symptoms all do sound like it. So glad you're finally getting some tests done and, as you say, if negative at least you can rule it out.

Woodlands · 13/01/2012 13:36

PS apparently it is so common and so frequently undiagnosed. They reckon as many as 1 in 100 people have coeliac disease. These days it's much easier to avoid gluten, and I have been to several restaurants recently which mark up gluten-free dishes on the menu.
