Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GotArt · 15/02/2011 06:24

Ah, the why why why. lol. I'm waiting. DD does the constant 'what are you doing mommy?', then I tell her and she says 'oh.' Five minutes later, 'what are you doing mommy?'

Had our first playdate at new place today. The kids are cracking me up. One boy, four girls, all 2. Needless to say, he kept to himself. lol. Took one bite out of the strawberries and put them back. Little A is potty training so no diaper on and she came out of the bedroom, came right up to me and 'I need you to change me' and her mom said she'd do it but A put her hand up to her mom and said 'I don't need your help mommy'. I guess you had to be there but the things that are coming out of their mouths crack me up.

Hope everyone had a nice day.

120 - I've put the item into auctionstealer and await with baited breath 18 hrs to see if I've won the item Grin Thank you so much for the tip.

Going to make your brownies tomorrow, bought the cocoa powder today. Mmmmm.

GotArt · 15/02/2011 21:51

Me too. sips Brew and stuffs more Hershey's Kisses in gullet

120 · 16/02/2011 08:42

GA some of the things they say are unbelievable. My current favourite is when he says things like 'are you tired. you sleep mummy. night night my love.' and then pats my head gently.

This morning he managed to climb onto the sitting room table to get the battery box off the shelf because he wanted to fix his light sabre. Anything broken is either 'needs new battry' or 'we buy one'. Anyway, woke up (with huge hangover) to an enormous crash with him and the box falling off the shelf Hmm

Tea or should I write Brew, good luck with the stealing and lob us a brownie when you are done. GA, I never managed to get on with Hersheys chocolate for some reason.. it is kind of a bit waxier than UK chocolate.

right. time to do some work!

120 · 16/02/2011 13:41

hey! where is everyone?

GotArt · 16/02/2011 15:44

120 Now that you say it, I found Hershey chocolate different in the UK and Cadboury's (sp) tastes different her. Same with Maynard's wine gums; mush better in the UK. Very synthetic here.

Tea Hope you manage to catch some down time today.

tinksbabyis2 · 16/02/2011 16:47

it is quiet Grin

hi ladies

they do say funny things

my dd2 says yes which is the name for her cuddly hungry caterpillar

did food shop this morning with dd2 today she was so good

Teaandcakeplease · 16/02/2011 20:22

I somehow got outbid right at the last minute. Maybe someone else also used an auction stealer as I had no warning at all Sad

Teaandcakeplease · 16/02/2011 20:23

DS is doing a lot of pretending to fall over and then saying "Oh no! Fall down!" Which is quite cute. His talking isn't quite as good though as some of the same aged munchkins on here though too much television Blush

Teaandcakeplease · 16/02/2011 20:47

DD has been scratching her head a lot lately. I've looked very carefully through it around the back of the ears and nape of neck, just in case it's head lice but can't see any. The teachers tell me they've never had an infestation in nursery before. It would be obvious wouldn't it if she had them? I'd see it with the eye yes?

GotArt · 16/02/2011 22:05

Yes, you would. Probably what was giving her the rash before is what's making her scratch her head. Maybe her shampoo is bugging her. Just a thought. Mmm on brownies. Envy I would likely eat every single one. Wouldn't worry about DS and words. Every kid is different. Two of DD's little friends are older (boys) by a 2 months and neither speak a word. I was told by another friend that boys are late anyhow. Not sure if that's true, but it seems like it in our group as the boys aren't nearly as good speakers as the girls.

Speaking of boys, we had a laugh at little G yesterday at Strong Start cause he had another tot (boy) in a head lock in the play kitchen. His mom, C, was shocked, but is wondering where this is coming from. I said Dad probably puts him in a headlock and rubs his head or something. But speaking with the other Mama's moms today about it, they said he was a bit of a thug. I laughed and said you've got to be kidding. But apparently he does this a lot, and it all starts with him taking toys from other kids. I had never really noticed to be honest. Usually DD is stealing from him, but perhaps she is just taking them back. I've never actually witnessed it. I know he always has a big cry when DD does this, and with the other kids too and comes to his mom for sympathy. I scold DD and she gets a little sulky but now I feel bad. DD is probably confused. Poor thing. The other moms couldn't believe I hadn't noticed before. I just never had. Ah well, must be more diligent about watching them play I guess... DD is (lucky for me) quite an independent player and shares, so I've never really had to monitor that much. Really, nothing that I've done. lol. She usually just goes and gets something else if a kid takes something from her, unless it is her dolly mind you. God forbid you touch Gina. "NO! MINE!" is repeated with a whole lot of tugging.

DD just passed right out in the middle of lunch. Too funny.

treedelivery · 16/02/2011 23:30

Hi all

Off to bed, but wanted to pop by. No time to read, must sleep!!

Teaandcakeplease · 17/02/2011 08:53

Rash seems to have gone now. She does have a red spot in her hair, but it maybe a birth mark perhaps? I have a strawberry mark on my ankle similar. I've always used the same shampoo for her since birth. So not sure about why her hair is itching so much? Unless she is getting things in it at nursery?

She's now poorly with a nasty cold and sore throat and of course slept badly last night. She's now back in bed asleep again whilst I've got to keep going today with DS Envy

tinksbabyis2 · 17/02/2011 09:08

hi ladies Grin

off to teddy club this morning

tea - glad rash gone poor thing with cold!!

hi tree and other ladies

Teaandcakeplease · 17/02/2011 12:56

Miraculous recovery; she had a big nap this morning and decided she wanted to go and see her friends as nursery today Shock DS is now in bed and I'm going to get some shut eye too whilst I can.

hackneyzoo · 17/02/2011 13:20

It's oh so quiet....

Bookmarking again!

L and J are at nursery so it's peaceful...for now! Have lucked out, a friend of a friend needed a placement for the last part of her Maternity Nurse course...so I now have a lovely free maternity nurse helping me in the evenings when DH is at work and uni.

Hebe seems to have chilled out a bit, although she is still the queen of projectile vomit she is settling a lot more. Iba, te maternity nurse, has taught me a few nifty tricks.

120...do you know anyone else with a newborn or impending NB who might like the services of a mat nurse, she is happy to do nights or days and will help where needed, she needs 3 more placements.

my lovely old Pa isn't doing so well, he is pretty much bed bound and the dr reckons he has heart failure as has all the classic signs. He is 85 and has an 85 year old heart i guess, but the mind of somebody about half that age! In himself I think he is ready to go as the pleasures he gets from life are things he can't do anymore; drinking good wine, eating good food, walking, being by te sea, reading. So I am obviously feeling incredibly sad but also strong as he is at peace and I would much rather he faded away quickly than lived another 10 years in a life he is not happy with. Not sure why I'm typing all this on here, guess I haven't talked about it much.

So anyway lots of trips up and down to bury St Edmunds at the moment.

Is C any better Stripey? I hope so. H's passport hasn't come throug and with the Dad situation I am having to postpone my dublin trip...will try for end of april or may instead and keep you posted.

HKZ and 120- either of you around the weekend of 5th March? We are taking DD on a london trip and planning on the natural hisory museum on saturday (Yey!) and London Eye on the sunday. Would be great if anyone could meet at the museum or later on. We are staying with friends in North London so I know not really in your neck of the woods but hey just a thought!

Hope everyone ok, sorry to here of all the poorly babes. Still madness here looking forward to a small respite in half term ( and hopefully seeing Lenni and MissJGrin).

DSis had 12 week scan yesterday and all is well there, hurrah!

Exercise regime still going well, cicuits classes very painful but getting better. Trying to run twice weekly and had body balance this morning which is great (sort of like pilates and yoga in one). Trying out Zumba next week, everyone seems to be doing it!
Seems to be working as have shed 6lbs last week even with going out for two mealsSmile. Valentines meal last sat was amazing and went out for a work curry last night which was a good laugh.

Right, school run now and then DD swimming. Be back soon guys x

120 · 17/02/2011 14:39

Teaandcakeplease · 17/02/2011 16:23

Does Watford count as North London? That's where I live Smile So I sneak into London when I can especially for the Natural History Museum as DD loves the TRex.

Highly impressed at your fitness Pat Envy Says I scoffing one of 120's brownies Blush So glad the Valentines meal was good too. Sounds like things on the home front are much better. How's your H's back?

Lenni · 17/02/2011 19:55

Hugs HKZ, thinking of you.

Pat I'll be in touch about weds as soon as bell goes tomorrow Grin

hackneyzoo · 17/02/2011 20:36

Pat thats great news about dsis. Will have to check if dh is working or not, but we are around on sat, so naturel history sounds good...I just don't have the nerve (or energy!) to get there by myself with all 3 of them if dh isn't about!

120, not sure if she has email but I can mail you her mobile number.

How was the first half term Lenni?

HKZ... use a leash and tether the kids to you. Wink Sorry about Pa. Too bad he can't at least enjoy some Wine

Pat... good on ya about exercising. I got back today, dropped DD at the 75 minute daycare, then we went swimming, then she passed out in the car home, and now I'm thinking the couch looks mighty comfy. (sleepy emoticon)

Really, MN needs more emoticons. Grin

Very Envy of London meet up. I'm heading that way in January... childless mind you. Well, as it stands right now, its childless.

120 · 17/02/2011 21:57
