I wrote my morning post only to DD click off the internet. Argh! Ah well, how can I expect a toddler not to be attracted to all those blinking lights. Smile

HKZ Glad to hear Dad has lots of carers around. Keep his spirits up when you see him, I know its exhausting but that is the best medicine.

Pat Sane Saturdays... what does that mean.. although this one is pretty mellow for me, they do seem to usually be busy. Not like I really do that much anyhow... Blush

Tree Poor DD1. I am a little obsessed with my own bowels and such and use to do various cleansing programs but the major one was the Stanley Burrough's Master Cleanse. Its amazing how one can still have significant movements 6 days after only consuming tea and the lemon drink. I read that the average adult can carry about 10lbs of waste at any time in there intestines. Shock That's a lot of weight. It has something to do with the way our intestines are designed because we are omnivores. I didn't really get past the 10lbs comment so really can't say anything scientific about it.

Having a bake off today... its raining so not much to do. Actually, outside of walking over to the grocery store, I had no intention of leaving the house today, hence why I walked.

120 Enjoy your dinner out. Come back and tell me all about what you ate; I live vicariously through my friends now. Grin

GotArt · 13/02/2011 07:39

Tea Hope you manage a nap today at some point. At least a little kip on the couch while your LO's watch some telly.

Teaandcakeplease · 13/02/2011 09:53

I've been up and down most of the night with him, he has diarrhoea Sad Can you still buy the Kaolin for children? Confused

missjackson · 13/02/2011 12:20

Poor J, tea - I've got no idea about the kaolin, but it only blocks you up I think, doesn't actually cure anything - I'm sure someone will give you some proper advice, but I would just try to get lots of liquids into him.

GA I have been reading the childbirth threads late at night when I can't sleep!

Baby is no longer breech by the way! Had a really uncomfortable night on Wednesday after doing lots of ass in the air yoga poses, and she must have turned, because by the scan on Thursday morning she was head down! Already estimated at 6'9, heading for 9lbs at birth... sort of wish I didn't know that! I've started this thread about what to do with N for the birth, assuming I manage a homebirth.

pat your Saturday does sound busy, but meal lovely.. can't believe you are out spinning or whatever it was on a Sunday morning too. You do sound busy!

120 also Envy at your antipasti... my DH has zero tastebuds and never gets off on food (opposite of yours GA!) so I have to wait for my sister to be here or indulge alone. Cheese is my weakness although I do find I generally need half a bottle of red too so not brilliant when up the duff Hmm.

Quiet morning here as OH has taken N to the farm. Nice bath, Archers and DID on the radio, reading my book. Feel like I have so much to do but am whale-like and all slowed down now. Still so long to go...

missjackson · 13/02/2011 12:23

Thanks for all the name thoughts too - in my heart she's Isis already, so I just need to persuade DH. His family will freak out. No attachment whatsoever to Carys, it was just a compromise, so no need to middle-name it. Still time for something completely different though.

Teaandcakeplease · 13/02/2011 12:40

Yes selfishly though I want the diarrhoea to stop Blush as it's been going on for 4 days so far, his bum is red raw and he's miserable. He seemed to get worse yesterday than previous days too. He doesn't mind dioralyte but he's taking fluids fine. Just very very runny poo's, temperature and sad.

120 · 13/02/2011 18:52

Hi all, tea, have you tried the BRAT diet? (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast). Poor thing, it is awful when it happens. In my house we are split with tummy bugs; DD and I get the rear end of it, whereas DP and H vomit. I'm not sure what is worse TBH.

Nice but busy weekend here. We went for Dim Sum today in Chinatown to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

MJ, glad she has turned! I still remember clearly the night DD turned. I was 35 weeks gone and out at a restaurant. There was this almighty heaving in my bump and apparently I went green. She can still have that effect on me, though these days it is auditory rather than sensory. It must be a relief to know that you are one more step along the road.. Name-wise it is worth trying the mumsnet namer. Amusingly, I did it after I had already picked H's name, but his name did turn up in the list of possibles so it kind of confirmed it for me!

GotArt · 13/02/2011 19:08

Gosh. Am I the only one that doesn't remember or know when DD turned? She did early on so maybe that's why.

Have a little Ug story but will come back later... DH is making brunch and its almost ready. mmmm. Got to sleep in today too. Nice Sunday.

Teaandcakeplease · 13/02/2011 19:11

I don't remember mine turning but they were never breech near the end of pregnancy. However they were both back to back Angry Wink

120 · 13/02/2011 19:13

The only reason I know was she was the wrong way up and I was getting very scared. We'd been in Brussels for the weekend, and had done loads of walking and I think that's what finally did it. When it is so close to the end it is sooo painful you just know!

GA.. jealous of brunch!

120 · 13/02/2011 19:14

Tea.. I've not had it but heard back to back a whole 'nother kinda pain..

hackneyzoo · 13/02/2011 19:14

Evening all.
Tea I was going to say the BRAT diet too. Think most of the medications for upset tummy just block you up rather than solve it. Hope DS is on the mend, poor little thing and poor you, must be exhausting.

Pat, sounds like an ace Saturday, hope you enjoyed it. How is BIL and DSIS doing?

Tree, poor DD1, must be very hard for her and you. Absolutely brilliant news about your DH, big kisses all round for all the Trees Smile

MissJ, you just had my ideal morning...sunday in bed dozing with a bit of Archers. I posted on your other thread...how exciting its getting close now. Glad Isis turned. (Thought I'd test out her name for you Grin)

GA and MissJ I couldn't stay out of the Childbirth topic the last few months, especially when there was a good labour thread.

Waves to 120!

Am busy trying to pack some stuff ready to go to suffolk in the morning. A good firend is PG with number 1 so I have an enormous pile of maternity and baby related stuff for her, 5 bags full so far! I got given a whole ton of baby stuff by work which is all unopened, I feel a bit guilty, but I have it all already and it seems daft to open new stuff when I don't need it. Do you think its wrong to pass it on to someone else who will get more use out of it? (baby grows, vests, towels, bedding, bibs, socks..basically a mothercare baby hamper) I feel a bit guilty about doing it. But I also think more baby clothes just = more washing too.

Have bought a second hand amby hammock off of MN, so hoping it helps Hebe a bit. She is so sweet and chilled out when she is not screaming her head off b/c of reflux. Feel awful for her. Thank goodness for slings. My back is spasming (sp?!) from carrying her around!

120 · 13/02/2011 19:18

waves back. Have good massage woman who will come to your home and do and hour for £25!! We can always arrange it and have one each when you are less busy.

120 · 13/02/2011 19:25

By the way, think you are doing the right thing by the hamper. New mummies get far more out of that kind of gift... we just look at it and see work Blush.

missjackson · 13/02/2011 21:14

tea hope J's a bit better by now. Had never heard of the brat diet but sounds like a winner.

120 £25! What an amazing bargain... I would have her every week if I lived there. Actually there is a really nice spa here that do treatments for silly money compared to London - full hour-long pedicures for £20 etc. But I never get around to organising myself.

Did the name finder, and 'Iris' came up which is pretty close! But I did say I wanted her to be a potter. Hmm Found some good threads on 'Isis' too and think we shall have to go for it... but how to persuade DH?! Am going for hkz strategy and will just wait till post-birth when he can refuse me nothing

hkz baby hamper sounds fab; I would have loved it with no. 1. Amby sounds great too - I was looking at them on ebay today but will wait to see what sort of baby I get. I don't quite know how the co-sleeping is going to work as N spends at least half the night wrapped around me.

How was brunch ga?

Hamper sounds lovely HKZ. 5 bags full. Shock I don't even think I have that much stuff for Violet. All my mommy friends came from just after having DD and we are all on second's too so not much second hand stuff moving around. I have a box of stuff that I kept to make a quilt for DD and then the pretty things I'll keep till she's older to give to her. Poor thing has a mommy that sort of hates shopping so she doesn't have much of a wardrobe. Blush

DOG Fat club? That sounds harsh! Sea swimming race? Shock That sounds crazy!!! And amazing!

UG story. Not much in the way of complete details because it would make for such a long story that I'm not interested in getting into the stupid details, but one example will suffice, but I spoke to my youngest sister last night and through the middle sister, who my mom lives with, I got some funny info. I told you how he rang my Aunt June (AJ) a few times right after we told him we were moving out, (she lives nearby here,) and 'bitched' about me and Sam and blahblahblah. Well, he did the same to my mom and although MS didn't get all the details, she did say that mom just sort of did a 'Uh huh, ya, really...' on the phone with him and then said she had to go and hung up on him. Through the rest of the week, he rang 4 times and left lengthy messages on MS phone to mom, 'bitching' about us. MS sister asked if she was going to ring back but she said the exact same thing AJ said, that he is making things up and is just looking for an ear to bitch at and no, that she wasn't going to and wish he would stop phoning her. Yesterday they were talking about it and mom said the last time he rang he was bitching about how rude we were for not inviting him to Xmas dinner as the turkey sat on the stove when he sat there. YS said 'that's funny because he said he spent the whole year saying he didn't want to do anything with family for Xmas, that he and GF were doing there own thing but because she worked late, he showed up uninvited,' which is what happened. They laughed as well because mom told AJ that he bitched about how AJ and family were rude to invite him over 2 before Xmas for dinner too and that AJ knew the same thing, about him not wanting to do anything with family. That's just one of the things he raged about to them. We all find it funny how he didn't waste anytime ringing around to state 'his story' and such but they all know him and wouldn't entertain him. Both mom and AJ found it disturbing how much he was phoning them to bitch about it. So did DH and I. Its very childish, eh? Like a sixteen year girl who's been jaded by her bestfriend and needs to get as many people on her side. Anyhow, its nice to see that everyone feels the same way we do so I know its not me. Grin So glad this person is out of my life.

120 · 14/02/2011 13:33

where is everyone hiding?

ga.. glad everyone else thinks he is OTT to.

120 · 14/02/2011 18:56

oh heavens. The dreaded 'why' appeared this morning. We've had 'what dat' for a while, but 'why?' is sooo much more work. By this evening I was being driven mad by it already and he'd spent the day at nursery!

stripeywoollenhat · 14/02/2011 20:55

120, we haven't had 'why?' yet - lots of 'what i see?' though.

gotart - pleased UG is now part of your history, not your daily life.

dog, hope you and the tiny boy are on your way home now, or at least soon. illness here too -though not as scary- c's temp hasn't dropped below 38.5 today and was 39.9 at bedtime. she's sort of eating and sort of playing so we're mainlining calpol keeping a close eye tonight and will try to get a gp appointment tomorrow - my mum has had a virus which turned into a chest infection and both c and i have caught it from her, looks like c's has turned into a chest infection too. i'm just coughing, but it's not very nice.

about to cough my way through one born every minute...
