had a mini catch up. GA I'd forgotton about the armpit hair thing you get with long hair. Been so long since I've had long hair / slept with it down! bit like when you trap it in the car door when you get in. soo embarrasing.

Tree, your trip sounded amazing!

MJ.. birth dust heading your way (or whatever we call it on here)

Tea.. just had to add my tuppence to the reams of sensible advice on here. Boys ask girls out all the time and get a load of 'No' all the time. They are not like us. It really isn't easy, but he can't see what you are thinking or what is going on inside your head, so just hold it high and keep going. You shouldn't have to explain your motives, it is his loss.. you are amazing and one of these days he may live to regret his response!

Thanks 120 Smile And everyone else on here for your kind words.

GotArt · 14/03/2011 22:17

Hello's all! Tonight is my MamaGroup monthly dinner. Can't wait. Although we see each other regularly, its nice to do it around a beer and food and damn kids around. Grin Went swimming today and DD was up and down the slide and then all of a sudden came up to me and said, Mummy poo poo, so off we went to the toilet and she pooped on toilet and we went back to swimming without changing her swim diaper. I am so happy. The potty training is exhausting because she runs off to the potty every 15 minutes, but glad she is keen.

Off to put up a shelf. Ciao for now.

Teaandcakeplease · 15/03/2011 10:11

That's great GotArt about Vi Envy

Can we perhaps start a new thread as I cannot open it on my phone now it keeps crashing Confused

tinksbabyis2 · 15/03/2011 13:42

Hope dinner was gd
Hi tea
Having a gd day here enjoyed sing and sign this
Morning

GotArt · 15/03/2011 17:51

I should have written and NO kids around. What a nice night out with the Mama's. All sorts of talk and gossip and laughs. Good for the soul.

The shelf didn't get put up. I assumed that when I told DH to bring home the drill cause I wanted to put the shelf up, he would have brought the drill bits too but now I must go buy some. Ah well, they're cheap enough. Have to go get a shamrock cookie cutter too. Strong Start is doing a little St Pat's Day celebration and I'm making some green shortbreads... maybe just sugar cookies.

Waves to all! Hope you are all having a lovely day. Grin
(Yes, a new thread.)

Teaandcakeplease · 15/03/2011 18:44

OK well here's my first attempt at a new thread title, as my man is still wanting "hugs" or "hot milk" in the night as he's poorly again and regressing Confused

Jan 09: Spring has sprung, potty training fun and LO's who still wake in the night

Teaandcakeplease · 15/03/2011 18:46

Ha X post. Thanks 120.

Hello

Thought I'd pop in and see how everyone is doing. No news from MissJ?

Life continues in the Steane house. Ds1 got his diagnosis of Austism in January and since then has been found to have Hypotonia (congenital low muscle tone) particularly in his core and upper body and associated fine and gross motor skill problems. So, it was a bit of a case of 'stick that in yer pipe' to all the teachers that failed to recognise or address his needs - a bit of a sob from me, then back to business as usual getting him all the help and support he needs in school.

Things have improved in that department, but we still have a long way to go - next stop Statement of SEN - now that's scary!

Meantime, he's off on a weekend outward bound course with the school in a couple of weeks and I am a nervous wreck with worrying about it. Blush

Ds2 has had some rather worrysome health issues to deal with. He once again has the docs stumped and is on a regular appointment while they 'monitor' him, after having enough bloods to fill a blood bank taken a couple of weeks back.

Dd is fine, coming on a bundle and a proper 'terrible twos toddler' complete with the word 'no' on a loop and accompanying tantrums. Grin No potty training for us yet though - I want her to still be in nappies for Bearded Theory at the beginning of May [selfish Mummy emoticon] and am intending to start after we get back.

Go V and J though - dd really doesn't seem in the slightest bit interested yet.

I have been dipping in and reading occasionally, so have a vague idea what's going on with you all. Will try and pop in again soon - crazy life permiting. Grin

hackneyzoo · 15/03/2011 20:21

Lovely to hear from you moose...I saw your posts on another thread about having 3 kids earlier and was psychicly channelling you back this way!

Great news about DS1, hope the school were apologetic and have upped thier support. Hope you are getting some support too. Hope DS2's test are nothing to worry about. When will they have an idea of what's up?
Hope all goes well on ds1's outward bounds.

Glad DD is being a typical toddler Grin I think J's poo was a fluke as he shows little interest either and I really don't have the energy to potty train at the moment (how terrible is that? eek)

How was the Zombie party?

moosemama · 15/03/2011 20:34

Ahh - that explains it HKZ, you clearly have psychic powers. Wink Grin

School of course haven't been apologetic, but have upped their game thanks to the involvement of some truly inspirational Ed Psychs and Inclusion people. Its amazing how much finding the right professional makes a difference. As I said, we still have a long way to go, but we are at least making good progress.

To be honest, they don't know what's up with ds2. There were some small but very scary leukemia type mutterings, but thankfully his bloods didn't seem to back that up, then there was a question mark about mycoplasmic pneumonia (which is what nearly killed me as a child - atypical presentation similar to ds's symptoms). Fortunately he did seem to improve after being taken of movicol and resting over half term. Doc is still concerned and perplexed, but not thinking anything else dire for the moment and ds does seem a bit better.

How are your three?

Zombie party was stonking and I was introduced to the joys of expensive gin, having never drunk gin before. Junipero is absolutely gorgeous 95% proof and no hangover the next day! Shock I must put some pictures of the cakes up on my profile - I was pretty pleased with the end result, after 48 hours of solid cake decorating!

treedelivery · 15/03/2011 20:37

Yay Moose!!

hackneyzoo · 15/03/2011 20:40

Ohhh, yeah, post cake pics.

Sounds scary with DS2, must be a huge relief to not be leukemia, but still v. scary if they haven't got to the bottom of it. Hope you get something back soon, glad he has picked up.

Glad you have good people on the case with ds1, about bloody time grrrr at the school.

There is a new thread....link is a few posts up!
