Bloody hell Lenni...that sounds like a restful night, just what you need before starting a new job. Glad it all went well though. Don't worry, OBEM screaming lady has well and truly made my cervix clamp tightly shut!

Tea, keep those confessions coming! Smile

Screamers don't bother me in the least. Only thing that bothers me are performers, who stop when you leave the room and talk about you Grin

It's all good though, what ever gets you through.

Shock Lenni. Hells bells you must be wiped out.

Glad Josh is better DOG, dd1 and 2 both lobed eating butter. Odd isn't it?

DD2 is very unhappy. Just keeps saying eye and sticking her fist in them to try itch them. Calpol and neurofen in now, so hopefully she'll get some rest. She slept 7.30 until now so can't complain. Will she be up until 1am....Hmmm.

Stripey - dd2 is doing the shy thing, burying her head in my leg when she sees her nanna and all that. Maybe C is enjoying it, I think they love having a 'thing' at this age.

Oh Lenni I missed your post, crikey! Glad you're all ok. Sleep well lovely x

hackneyzoo · 10/01/2011 22:25

Tree, poor DD. Has she been given drops or anything?
Grin at performers... If I was casting myself as a type I would be a mooer. I had to go and apologise to our upstairs neighbours after DS was born, they swore they couldn't hear a thing, but I am sure all of hackney heard my moos. Blush

Am with you on Joni Mitcell, leonard Cohen and The Pogues Dog. There are so many musical skeletons in my closet I daren't even go there.

hello all
yes, have got over my momentary anxiety about the small girl's shyness - i'm quite shy and it hasn't ruined my life... so's my mum, and she reminds me a lot of my mum, temperamentally. not shy with me, mind - i'm getting quite a lot of 'go away, mummy' at the moment, as she heads in the direction of the cat/whatever it is she is not allowed to do...

so, cried a tiny bit watching one born every minute. and really felt for the panicking woman, can't understand why the midwife didn't suggest she get off the bed? we are ttc later this month - i feel surprisingly unput off. now, if they had a programme about the endless early hours of the morning with a new born, that might have a deterrent effect...

tree, really hope poor dd2's eyes get better swiftly, poor wee girl.

lenni, sorry about fire - typical, i believe that is known as...

gotart - tell dh to get a taxi?

can't have the eighties without camper van beethoven, people.

Aww I don't mind though, and never judge. People so badly want to be in labour, and I thinksometimes feel they need to convince people their pain is real.

Bugger is the pain is almost a detail in the labour process, we can be in all the pain we like but if the cervix is shut...then it doesn't matter if I open my delivery pack and get my gloves on. It aint coming out! was horribly noisey.

Nearly all behaviours come back to fear, anticipation and bewilderment. I can relate to that.

She has some cloramphenicol [sp???] which I can occasionally hit her head with, sometimes her cheek. Feel none has gone anywhere near her eye. Wonder if they ever just gove antibiotics, this seems a bad attack.

think it's probably easier to do the monitoring on the bed. i had to have a trace from time to time because i didn't let them break my waters, but they were okay with doing it on the floor.

stripeywoollenhatwithbellson · 10/01/2011 22:39

c's dad donating again - it just makes more sense, since he's willing. so, fingers crossed Smile

I know, I needed monitoring with dd1 for dips and decelerations. It is the one you just can't argue with, as it's their well being not your own in the balance. I seem to remember DD1 had some pretty impressive big dips when I was pushing - no ill effects though.

Mind you I naturally stop being active when I really get on in labour, and for all the hype about being upright and mobile, so many women I look after seem to slow down, lie down, go inert, towards the end too. If anyone had tried to make me get up or move when I flopped out with dd2 [about 30 mins to end I think] I'd have punched them Grin

Ooo exciting Stripey. Gosh everything crossed for you here. It'll work.

hackneyzoo · 10/01/2011 22:47

Camper Van beethoven of take the skinhead bowling fame stripy? Now I have that song in my head! Exciting about TTC...good luck.

It must be such a fascinating job Tree, I guess there are so many ways of coping that it's whatever gets you through.

the clinic won't work with a known donor, so it's back to diy. to be honest, i can't imagine involving a doctor and associated paraphernalia would be any less, let's face it, icky, but would cost thousands of euro more.
