Hello people.
Had a perfect fabby time at Alton Towers Splash landing resort - until I threw out dd1's second tooth that fell out whilst there
. SHe forgave me when I got us an extra night in a theme room. Got it at bargain price as they are usually about £400!! We had a really lovely time, although dd1 of course had a cough and got a temp on last day. Of course. Always.
My sympathies Tea. There is another way of looking at this, I'm really sure that if I were him, or you were him, or anyone were him, I would feel really pleased to be asked! Even if, for whatever reason I felt no was the right answer, I'd still be really chuffed to be noticed. You only asked him over to watch a movie, so I'm sure he knew what you meant and it's always nice to be asked!
So look at it from his point of view and I bet you stop cringing
Now if you are cringing so bad you are pickled, this is what you do. Ask another 2/3/4 people, have a movie night. Order pizza in, and have a small gathering. Then he will think you were inviting him to that. I know your flat is on the smaller side, but you could have a few folk around for that sort of thing. Kids in their room watching a dvd on computer or whatever - and you are sorted! even if no one can actually make it, the word might get about you thought about organising such an evening, and he'll assume that's what he was invited to.
I like nearly all the names you are all thinking of. Love the name Poppy, dd1 was totally sure bump would be called Poppy. Even though we told her plainly it would be Elizabeth, which she then didn't suit. Poppy is her middle name, to keep dd1 happy
I'd have gone with it, only I couldn't imagine a red head called Poppy, big red head and all that. Couldn't do it to her, although she would really suit it. She can adopt it when she is older if she likes, I am always always known by my second name.
Just passing time before school run. DD2 is asleep on me as she is bushed after all the swimming all weekend, then playschool this morning. Am ignoring piles of housework and washing. And lesson planning and course work
This house is huge and hard to clean you know, whilst being not that huge and certainly not posh. There just seems to be acres of floor, stairs and dust.
