Totally's original thread was for TTC after MC. It continued long after Totally herself graduated, and is still going strong. Totally's grads was set up as a thread for pregnancy post MC - i.e. anyone who graduated from Totally's thread and anyone else who had experienced MC and was now pregnant. It, too, is still going strong.

Now, more and more of us have graduated from Totally's grads - including LouiseSH, whose Georgie was born asleep. I suppose that makes us postgrads. We have travelled together for a long time and would like to stay in touch, but the pregnancy post MC thread is starting to get very big, and I think it should be allowed to keep its focus on pregnancy post MC. May it be as wonderful a place for support for current "members" as it was for us.

So this thread is a place for us to keep in touch, share experiences, and provide support.

(This is the first time ever I'm starting a thread - hope it works out...)

good ahem morning all...

Ianto is having a snooze in my arms. just love this cuddly feeling :)

TFLS, have been meaning to ask, how's the feeding going? and how is little charlie?

welcome sarahlou, good to see you and glad to hear that feeding is going well. what is emily up to these days?

sam, hope you're ok.

went out with my nct ladies last night. and got a bit drunk. unfortunately came home to find that a starving baby was refusing the bottle. considering that he was practically exclusively bottle fed for a while, and sooo hard to wean off the bottles, this seems a bit absurd! so it was a difficult night, and at 3am i gave up and gave him the breast - just hope there wasn't too much alcohol in my milk anymore.

Hi all

Lovely to see so many familiar faces here! Things seem to have settled down a wee bit this end, still a bit of a Pammy going on (even the postman commented Blush). James clearly feeding well - he is 6 days old today and has put on 8 ounces!!! Bf is a funny thing, it was really hard with dd yet Jamie's a doddle - he opens his mouth really wide and keeps attached once he's on. My theory is that he was cpmpletely ready to come out (hence long labour etc) and dd was soooo angry at being whipped out early that she screamed/kept her jaw tightly clenched for weeks and weeks and made life really hard for us (oh and wouldn't sleep either!)

Gilda it all somehow makes sense after a few days and you click right into it- it's suprising what hormones will do once your brain gets over the 'it's so SMALL and FRAGILE and LITTLE' thing (I'm just about getting there now... ) don't worry!

Looking for news from Happy soon, she's been quiet for a couple of days now??

Hi Lia how's it going? Is it getting hard to bend yet?! It must start getting complicated soon... Have expressed a little but tbh he's taking it all really! I just hope i don't stay this big the whole time.

I must say I am very jealous of Alba - homebirth and lovely doula and all that that entails Envy. Can't wait to hear the details and live vicariously!

Hi everyone else, this post has taken a feed, six rounds of 'hide and seek' with a teddy bear and two cups of tea to write - i am exhausted and had better go and do stuff! Waves to Boodle, Meita, Sarahlou, SamB, LeeWT, Muser, TFLS, and any other posters/lurkers/etc wot i have doubtless missed Grin.

And not least thoughts to Louise today, I really hope you get some answers or at least some 'closure' today x

Unbuffy · 09/12/2010 12:08

Hi mieta xp - no hangover i hope?!?!

I will definately be having the odd Guiness (it's good for you) soon - but only after I stop taking all this codeine and other rubbish, there's mixing and mixing... Don't think a bit a drink is going to hurt too much! Nice to go out and have time to yourself for once, am jealous already...

Sarahlou8 · 09/12/2010 12:32

I've got a Christmas party on Friday, a dinner and disco. I'm really looking forward to it. 10 ounces of expressed milk in the freezer ready, and guess what? Guess who's on antibiotics!
No alcohol for me. Very Xmas Envy at you, Meita, I'm dying for a glass of Pinot Grigio! (On a positive note, I know the antibiotics are affecting my milk probably more than a few drinks would. I'm sure it won't make any difference or harm Ianto to have a little tipple, it is Christmas!)

Gi1da · 10/12/2010 17:18

Hellooo, still Shock and Grin at Meita's noctural iced boob-gloves! I hope your poor sleepy DH didn't get a fright!

Thanks for reassurance that it will all make sense eventually Smile. I do feel fairly ready now. Though am still waiting for homebirth kit to arrive, they had said it would be in my 36 or 37th week, but am 37+6 now so will chase up on my next mw appointment on Weds. No sign of baby getting restless to move out though so I think we're ok to wait.

Glad to hear some of you are getting back out on the razz Meita and Sarahlou how odd to think I haven't had a hangover since springtime! (Not that I'm a heavier boozer or ought, just saying... Blush)

Hope your ouches are less ooow Buffs

Meita · 10/12/2010 21:34

Hi ladies, just a quick one,
apparently (from Facebook) Lee's Andrew is in hospital with a serious-sounding infection. I hope you don't mind me saying, Lee. I'm thinking of you both, wishing you much strength.

Sam, where are you? Hope all is good with you and your family.

OP posts:
lia66 · 10/12/2010 21:38

Please pass on our support to lee if you see her on fb meita

Gi1da · 10/12/2010 22:44

Really sorry to hear that. Sending love and best wishes for a strong and speedy recovery.

Unbuffy · 11/12/2010 12:27

Passing on best wishes too, sounds horrible for poor lee and her family. un-mn(((Bear))) x

hi to all, think we're a bit more settled here and less 'boob'-y. special waves to gilda and hope babyG stays put this w/e!

x

Sarahlou8 · 12/12/2010 09:38

hi, typing one handed while feeding and not very good at it...

any news from lee? thinking of you, hope andrew is okay.

Meita · 12/12/2010 10:45

Hi, I know the feeling regarding typing one-handedly ;)

I'm not going to bother Lee with questions, but from her FB updates I gather that Andrew is stable, has managed without oxygen yesterday but otherwise the same as the day before. There seems to be still some way to go but there is every hope he is on the mend.

This must be so worrying for Lee and her family. Lee, I'm thinking of you - wish there were something I could do to help.

OP posts:
Gi1da · 12/12/2010 15:24

So relieved to hear that Andrew is stable. Continuing thoughts going out to Lee and family x

Muser · 12/12/2010 22:51

Sending lots of good wishes to Lee and her family.

Unbuffy · 14/12/2010 10:07

Morning ladies,
Thought I'd just pop in to see how everyone's doing. Any news from Lee? And where oh where has SamB got to with the Midnight Express?

BabyJabie (have dd with stuffed nose, it comes out like that, is very cute) is currently on a(nother) mahoosive hourly feeding spree so am a bit zombified and dh has had to go into work this morning. Plus lots of pain in cs site last night in between feeds. Any of you experienced people got any advice? It was not this sore last time with an ELCS, must be something to do with the boogered tummy muscles too after labour?

I am desperate to get out of the house, although i know (having tried!) that I can't physically go for a walk yet, let alone push a buggy down the hill to the village (and back up again!) And the floor needs washing, and the hoovering needs doing, and i need to shift things around to make space for the Christmas tree i need to go and get (driving, lifting, carrying stuff) - more things i can't do. Can you tell i'm getting a bit stressed here?! I am NOT a good patient! Plus hormones making me ridiculously emotional and useless. grrrr. And don't even get me STARTED about bloody Christmas. And I can't even have a drink still due to painkillers coming out of my ears.

OOOOOooookay. Have now stopped ranting and will attempt to come back to earth. Just needed to vent a bit, sorry Blush

Hope you are all well, how are the babies doing? Gilda has your kit arrived yet? There is another baby arrived in Gradland, Happy has popped baby Ciara but the full tale has yet to emerge Smile Looking forward to a birth story soon!

Gi1da · 14/12/2010 12:17

Oooo Buffs you look after yourself and absolutely NO lifting! I'm sure it's really frustrating but you simply need to rest up and recover. Consider it a job in itself, at a cellular level you are very, very busy - healing up AND being a dairy producer! Write a list for DH to help with and make sure you spend the rest of the day chilling as much as you can between feeding James and looking after DD - blimey that's already enough to make me feel tired out! You ARE superwoman already - give yourself a break!

Looking forward to hearing from SamB.

Meita how're you doing? Sarahlou how was your Christmas party?

Hoping all is well with Andrew. Thoughts to Lee x.

No news here (38+3), acupuncture then midwife tomorrow, will ask where the homebirth kit is - I assume its the gas & air so I don't want anything to happen before that gets here! Confused

Unbuffy · 14/12/2010 12:57

Grin Not superwoman, just cabin fever!

Meita · 14/12/2010 14:32

typing one handedly so just a quicky - last i heard from lee was that andrew was still/again needing oxygen and tube feeding so no sign of going home soon.
though from my own experience from ianto's first days, once the tube goes out, it can be very soon to discharge - they wanted to see feeding going well for 24 hours and then it was bye-bye.

unbuffy take it easy!!! i know you're itching to get out, but walks - with someone else pushing the buggy - is the max you should do right now... can't help re the pain perhaps ask your midwfe? all i can vaguely remember is pain whenever i didn't get all my painkillers in time (sometimes they forgot to bring me my pills) but by 2 weeks or so i was pretty pain free.

gilda hope that kit arrives before the baby does!

saaaaaam where are you? missing you and a bit worried too!

OP posts:
Lotta123 · 14/12/2010 21:16

Unbuffy - sounds like making a list of all the jobs you want done but can't do might help. At least then you can might be able to stop thinking about them and can pass them to dh.

Am really missing Sam's updates too.

Gi1da · 16/12/2010 10:56

Just checking in and hoping everyone is well. Special wave to awol SamB - missing you!

Often thinking of Lee and family and hoping that Andrew is getting stronger by the day.

How's the belly Buffs? Did you get any advice / reassurance on your ouchiness? Hope it's not as sore and that you've managed to at least get out for a walk (and that someone else did the floor for you!)

x to all

Meita · 18/12/2010 19:24

Heya all,
Well we are supposed to be in Switzerland since Thursday afternoon but our 3x re-booked flight for tomorrow morning has again been cancelled. And BA are proving a nightmare to reach. So, no idea when we are going to travel...

Lee's Andrew is home now, great news! Lee, looking forward to hearing from you - great that he got home before Christmas!

We built a snow-family today :)

OP posts:
Unbuffy · 19/12/2010 13:53

Hi all from Sleepless City, Jamie constantly cluster feeding therefor no sleep blearlyness and lack of spellingability abounds!

Very pleased about Andrew, lovely news. And Meita good luck with the flight plans - from what i hear everything's closed down (eeek, an inch of snow, PANIC!) because nobody's prepared for, um, coldness in winter Hmm

Have added link yo list on other thread, hope i don't get into trouble Blush

Hi to everyone - Gilda, very quiet at the moment, anything happening?!

lia66 · 19/12/2010 14:30

just popped on to say thank goodness little andrew is home for Christmas. Hope all continues to go well, we're thinking of you lee

louise hope you are ok, (((()))) for you at the moment especially. xx

Gi1da · 19/12/2010 15:17

Here I be!

Great news to hear that Andrew is home. Wishing a peaceful week to Lee and family.

Meita good luck! I do love snow, but a bit of a bugger when the country grinds to a halt! Hope your plans come together in time for Christmas.

Buffs I've gone from being desperate for Something to Happen as I am getting anxious and want the birth over and done with, to coming down with an awful cold and now hoping it doesn't happen till I can breathe again! Will be well miffed if all that yogic breathing practice goes to waste because if my snotty chest! Blowing my nose every two minutes at the moment and have a massive pile of tissues next to me that is starting to look like an indoors snowdrift!

Hope you are feeling better if tired, though I'm sure your little man more than makes up for it all. How is your DD coping? Probably upcoming christmas makes everything exciting?

Lovely to hear from SamB on t'other side, sounds like everything is going really well.

Thinking of Louise and hoping that you are managing and thinking positive thoughts for the New Year. May it be the year that things turn around for you.

Unbuffy · 24/12/2010 13:06

Happy Christmas everyone! Hope it's a lovely peaceful one with not too many night calls tonight...

Gi1da · 25/12/2010 17:25

Wishing a happy first Christmas to all the little ones! And special wishes to their families too xx
