Welcome to the thread for ladies who's lo's were born on Oct 2007!

Some of us have been here from the begining and some have joined along the way. New ladies always welcome to join in and chat with us, we're a friendly bunch!

:0)

Hey ladies, here's the new thread, had to start it cause the old one is nearly full and Inzi has been in touch to say she can't post on it as it won't load on her phone. She has been booked in for a section on fri!!!

Hope you are all well, off to bed for now

QueenOfLists · 06/04/2011 19:43

No news here - just popping on to keep track of everybody.

onehappy - that's wonderful news - no wonder you sounded so happy on your previous post! So pleased for you on all counts xx. Good to hear the success stories from internet dating. I will keep the faith!

FT - boo hiss to your dh too about mothers day. You should be a lot less generous on fathers day this year!

Strawberry - glad Olly is over his sickness bug - can't believe how some people can be so irresponsible with germs, especially when it's only the night before. Sounds like the twins are doing fab - you too keeping up the bf. And well done with the weight-loss, that's brilliant!

EvaLongoria · 08/04/2011 12:23

Hi Ladies

Just a quick update because I need to get the more washing on and the wet ones on the line. Zara keeping me very very busy. Feeding non-stop and I was force to go out on Wednesday to get her a dummy. Midwives discharged me on Monday and said my wound is healing great (totally overjoyed by that) and Zara was weighed and is now weighing a massive 9lb 9oz. Cant believe it. She was the youngest at the postnatal group yesterday but the heaviest.

Feeling a bit down cos I havent heard of any of my so-called friends and family congratulating me or even asking if I am ok. But oh well I dont have time to wallow in pity as I need to look after my 2 babies now.

Sorry about me me post, will have a proper read later after picking DD1 up from nursery.

EvaLongoria · 14/04/2011 18:52

Have I killed the thread yet again.

All well on our side. This week has been very hard with having DD at home and Zara. But we are managing. Weighed her again and she is weighing 10lb 4oz. I think I am going to start her on a baby diet.

Strawberry well done on the weight loss, will come back to you when I need some tips. I cant recall but did you have the girls by c-section or normal delivery. Cant believe how big they are. And well done on breastfeeing 2. I am already exhausted on the one i have.

sorry need to run

oneveryhappymama · 19/04/2011 20:52

Where did everybody gooooo!!!!

Crazybits, how are you doing? Haven't heard from you on FB either... Hope you're ok. I guess you must have lots going on.

LLL - how are you all settling in to the new home? Do the boys love their new rooms??

Eva sounds like you are surviving!!

Not much to report from me..... morning sickness has well and truly found me. I am already showing and ashamedly look like i am 5 month PG.... i'm not even kidding. Eren is loving the idea of a new baby in the house, which is cute. Got my scan & anti-natal dates through. although i did this about 4 years ago now, somehow it seems i have almost forgotten the parts of the process and feel like i need to swat up again!!

I hope everyone is well. Thinking of you
xxx

neepsntatties · 22/04/2011 09:52

Just marking my place as I plan a to catch up over the weekend if the kids let me.

Eva just quickly - sorry to hear about your friends :(. I hope you are keeping well. x

neepsntatties · 24/04/2011 21:33

Yikes I really was behind, it has taken me twenty minutes to read all your news.

Lisa - how's the new house going? I am jealous too! How's the puppy?

Crazy - I am so sorry to hear what a hard time you have been having. I hope you are keeping well physically and emotionally and that college is going well too. How is your dd doing? So hard to know how much info to give out, sometimes you imagine worse if you don't know.

Floria - ugh she sounds awful. My sil is hard work but that situation sounds really difficult. I don't know what you can do with someone like that other than keep communication open with your brother as much as you can.

One - Really sorry to hear about your dad, that must be so hard for you all. Great, great news about the pregnancy!! How exciting for you!

LLL - I would be seriously hacked off in your shoes too re:mother's day. My dh is pretty crap at that sort of thing too (no easter egg for example) I did get stuff on mothers day through years of nagging and stropping. I don't want much, just some chocolate or something, just want to feel special.

QOL - how is the dating going? I am jealous of you getting your garden sorted. Our garden is so small but also in an awful state. We have done nothing to it. We just don't have time. I am hoping we can get it sorted soon though.

Strawberry - wow at the weight loss! I am a lot bigger after pregnancy no 2 than I was the first one. I don't mind being bigger so much but I hate my shape, I still look pregnant.

As for me, well I have decided to go back three days a week in August. That is if they let me, still waiting to hear. I have also applied for a post grad course in physical theatre. I have an audition in London on Sat. Have to travel down with Jana on the day of the royal wedding so that will be fun. Bit worried as I am so out of shape and I think it will be all these dancers and me being a potato at the back. Dh still trying to finish his uni stuff then he is going away on a job for three weeks so still on my own all the time which is hard. I often go to bed feeling like a crap mum to Dareh. I just don't feel I give him what he needs. I set up activities but he doesn't seem that interested in them then I get frustrated. I am often just counting down the hours each day until he goes to bed. Jana is still up but all I have to do with her is stick her on my boob. Then I feel guilty for thinking that way because I love him so much and he really deserves better.

It was a year ani of my dad's death the other week. My brother booked a lodge at the place where we scattered his ashes so we could all be together but my sil wouldn't let my other brother stay the night with us. I was really shocked at her lack of compassion. She continues to have endless digs at me I am just exhausted by it. I just don't want to be around her anymore but don't want to not see my brother. Ah well, families!!!

Hope everyone had a lovely easter. I ate a lot of chocolate. Why does it seem 'free' on Easter day??

babyblue4 · 28/04/2011 17:30

Hello all Just dropping in for my bi-monthly visit LOL. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I have been up to my eyeballs in children, cakes, laundry... but what else is new. Right now, I am bedridden with a nasty fever/cold that just wont seem to let go. Work is keeping me busy... I am having surgery in June, so am looking forward to having the ENTIRE summer off!! Yippee!

How are all the piggies doing? Sofia still seems to be going through the terrible 3s!! She is such a Diva! Very demanding. She also seems to be sliding backwards a little. DH thinks its because she is one of the oldest in her nursery that she is starting to act like the younger ones. Its not fun. She demands to be fed and demands help when using the toilet... all stuff she used to insist on doing herself. :( She only has til the end of June and then she is done. In September she will be starting regular school with the 2 older DCs. We are all looking forward to that!

Marco has been sick with one thing or another ever since he started nursery Otherwise he is well. He is finally starting to say a few more words (including Mama FINALLY!!!). I think he is starting in on the terrible twos a bit early as well He has started this new thing of screaming for attention. Its shrilling and goes right through me! NOT happy about that!

DD1 became a "lady" last month so the hormones are running rampant! DS1 is still a handful. And me.... the grey hairs just keep comin!! LOL

Anyway... just a quick post. I keep up with all of you who are on FB! I miss being able to sit down and "chat" but my time seems so limited right now

Thinking of you all xxx

Crazybit · 09/05/2011 21:57

Hi ladies

Marking my pace as I lost you all again. such a shame that we're not much getting on here nowadays. I have so much to tell you all but really don't know where to start...
College going okay, hopefully will get it finished by two weeks tomorrow, I have to give a presentation on my business plan, kind of like a dragons den, the enthusiasm I havbe for that is outstanding NOT! I'm ashamed to admit that I have just done my assignments to get them out the way and put effort in that I have had to, but not my heart into them iyswim. Feel a bit of a fraud when I do things like that but don't know what else I can do. Me and R had a very wobbly few days where it was nearly all over as he was saying I was selfish because I'm getting work done all the time, but I was just trying to get it all out the way so I can concentrate on other things. He conveniently forgot that he actually rented a flat to get his done and that he didn't have to arrange any childcare when he needed to do things. Oops turned into a bit of a rant.

Will try and keep other things brief as I need my bed.
Shannon is a monster at the moment, destructive and cheeky but gorgeous at ther same time. Are other los still in nappies on a night? The way she fills them she'll still be in them when she's 16. DD1 is a worry as always, doing her SATS this week, hormones all over the place, I suspect she'll be getting af very soon. She's seen her df a couple of times but is still terrified of him, there have been more incidents where he's been a dick and given her grief over us moving and she really doesn't want to go. She has real issues which are hopefully going to have some sorting out with counselling but I worry that she is going to struggle with the rest of her life. A poor boy in her class lost his mum last week and the way that DD1 carried on, it was as though it was her that had lost someone...

Anyway enough about us...

BB4-Yep we've got a diva. Poor Marco, at least his immune system should be built up by now!

Neeps-How did the audition go? Aww try not to worry too much about ds. You'll get there in time, life takes a bit of adjusting. TBH, I wouldn't worry about trying o get him to do activities if it stresses you out, I'm the same and think why did I bother! DVDs and free play will be fine for a while, or a run around park. Ignore silly bitch sil, just do the same as we said to FT and be extra extra nice even though you don't mean it, it's good playing the martyr Wink

Onehappy-Hopes the morning sickness is subsiding, and bless Eren for his excitedness. Shannon says that her daddy 'has to give us a baby girl, we don't want a boy, it's the rules and he can't just go changing them!' Ummm okay then, seriously though, maybe once we're settled but am being very careful that there are no additions at the moment.

Eva-How you doing? Sorry you haven't heard from friends. i don't think people do it deliberately, just get caught up in there own lives. Maybe try and initiate meetings with friends..

QOL-How's the dating front going? You are a superstar you know for helping me the other week with my financial stuff. My brain is frizzled to nothing.

Strawberry-Well done you on the weight loss, I've put all mine back on after my diet, least of my worries atm tbh though. You're a superwoman with three kids and still getting anything done.

Hi FT, Dal, Inzi, LLL and everyone else, just go tone more thing to ask then need to get to bed.

Basically, houses we've been looking at, like a little town not far from his work but rentals are like gold dust. Decided we'd have to go for one out of the town, a tiny hamlet, nice house, within catchment are for both of the schools that we'd be happy with for DD1, water rates included and cat allowed, drive and garage and landlord reduced the rent by a little, sent paperwork and cheque off to apply for it as there was NOTHING else in the weeks we've been looking and R only has 4 wks paid b&B and then needs to have somewhere. Sent on thurs, they got it on Fri, perfectish house came up on Sun Angry It is in the town we want, nice area, similar rent and space and will probably accept cat. So I rung estate agents this morning and asked if they could hold off putting our cheque through for a couple of days whilst we looked at this new one, she was not happy said she'd have to speak to landlord, which we really didn't want as we dont want them thinking we're fickle. Anyway she called back and said they would hold off till first thing tomorrow, R went to look round tonight and said near enough ideal except will struggle for parking, but Tesco directly opposite and maybe parking round corner. The other thing is that as we where the first to view, they have other viewings tomorrow and want to see who puts offers in before they choose tennants so we may not even get it..but it would be near enough perfect for what we need, but if we pull out from the other and then don't get it, I doubt they would accept if we reapplied because we messed them about, and the new one will cost about an extra £50 a month on council tax and rent-but the first one is right next to an open prison! So advice/votes/tell us what to do would be very much appreciated this evening please!!!

Here are the links for both anyway first and second

strawberrylace · 10/05/2011 21:12

crazy - i don't blame you for rushing through the college stuff and focusing on getting it finished - you have so much else on your plate, it will be good to get something ticked off your list!

I had a look at both the houses (I am nosy like that), and I think - if you are prepared to start your search again, I would go for house two. I actually prefer house one - more space on the outside, parking, lovely view, and I wouldn't be bothered about the prison that much. However, house two looks like its on a housing estate, and I think that'll mean you meet more people with families, so you will get settled in to the new area much more quickly, as you'll meet more people like you and find out about the best playgroups, places to go etc etc.

it is a bit of a gamble though! would you be prepared to move in 6 months? As that would mean you only need view either as a temporary place till you get a proper feel for the area... I would also say to the first people that you're only not picking their house as you've found another which is much closer to schools, and you think this is important for your children's sake if you can get it - try and leave yourself a bit of wriggle room to go back to them if you can...

Hope this helps a bit - let us know what you do x

hope you are all well - I can manage to read FB updates and like your statuses, but I read MN a lot at 3am (twins still want night-time feeds, despite now being on 3 meals of solids a day) and I can't post easily from my phone. Tonight I got them all in bed and asleep by 8pm, and DH is out for the evening, so I am on the laptop catching up with tv, and designing a poster for the new twins club I've set up at a childrens centre with a couple of other twin mums i've met locally.

Crazybit · 11/05/2011 11:56

Hi Strawberry. We went for the second one and they said aslong as we get all documents and payments in by Sat its ours woo! The other estate agent has agreed to send the cheque back thankfully. The house is right opposite a Tesco so hopefully we will be able to cut down to one car and save money that way in order to pay the extra rent and council tax. I was going to go in the summer holidays but have started thinking it may be beneficial for DD1 to have a few weeks at a local primary so she can get to know local kids, have spoken to the nearest and they have space but will have to wait and see how things pan out. I've been applying for jobs all morning, should be doing college work but just can't face it yet. It'll be my own fault when I get behind.

Get you opening a twins group, I think I've liked it but it was messing about at first so that I couldn't.

strawberrylace · 11/05/2011 21:46

crazy - fingers crossed that it all works out! think you made the right choice, and also agree that it could be good for DD1 to get a few weeks at primary school - esp as i think alot of schools do taster days at secondary school at the end of the summer term, so that would help her ready for september. you'll only be about 45min drive from my mum, so i will have to pop down and see you when i'm visiting

Crazybit · 15/05/2011 22:17

Thanks Strawberry, just have to wait for references to come back to see if we're accepted. Things would probably be a lot more simple if I hadn't agreed to exchange houses with my friend before we leave as my house a brick build and hers is more of a prefab. She has 4 kids and mine is quite a bit bigger. (Oh how I'm going to miss it!) But first we have to have all the checks, then actually swap, then I'll need to give 4 wks notice on her house before we can actually move. Half wish i hadn't agreed to do it, but she's been a great friend and does deserve to have a more secure home. Just hope that nothing goes wrong during that time.

How is everyone this weekend? Rich has been home for the weekend and gone again, Shannon really played up last week and people said maybe it's because he's away but she's used to him not being around all the time anyway so maybe she's picking up on my everlasting stress.

DD1 saw her dad earlier. He had apparently stopped drinking in order to pass his medical to be able to try and get his driving licence back, didn't last long though, he was drunk today. Luckily he allowed DD1 to come meet me just up the road from the christening they where at. Somehow I don't think he is going to take this calmly for much longer, I don't think I'll be giving him a date that we move, probably tell him afterwards to ensure everyones safety.

On a positive note I have nearly finished my college work Grin Just a third of an assignment to do and a presentation to give and I'm done. Have also been looking at completing my third year when we move and also been applying for jobs. Either we'll make major cutbacks to pay for it or I'll get a fab new job to cover it. Need to look at nurseries for Shannon too.

It's so quiet on here lately...

Crazybit · 19/05/2011 15:01

I have truely killed the thread :(

How is everyone and where is everyone??
I'm all finished with college except for a presentation next week. Shannon has got her little friend coming round for tea from nursery, should be interesting!

QueenOfLists · 19/05/2011 20:04

Oh I am so behind. And I still have the fb message thread to read! I'm not getting the time in the evenings that I used to - ex-h and I have rearranged things so that he's not round at my house any more when he looks after Anya Grin. But that means that I work 9-5 instead of 8-4, and being that extra hour late throws my evenings out for some reason. Plus I've now started zumba classes on a Monday night while Anya stays over at her dad's (yes! A free evening once a week!) and Anya has started a street dance class on a Wednesday teatime so that's effectively another evening gone. It's great to be doing all these new things though, I feel as though I'm getting my life back together more now Grin.

Eva - glad you are healing well. Sounds like Zara's doing really well - wow at her being so heavy!

VeryHappy - how is the morning sickness? Hope you're coping ok.

Neeps - have you heard about going back to work yet? How did your audition go? You are not a crap mum, you are wonderful.

BB4 - Anya is going through a bit of a diva stage too - trying to assert her independence even more than usual. It's so exhausting! A lot of the time it's quite funny though and I have to try really hard not to laugh.

Crazy - really great that you've finished your college work. Fingers crossed your presentation all goes well. It's completely understandable that you've just done enough to get by - I've always done the same in exams etc. It's fine - nobody's going to ask once you've got the qualification how hard you actually worked in the assignments! How did DD1's SATS go? How is she coping now with her friend's loss? It must be hard for her with everything that's going on, but you're doing a fab job and she's such an intelligent, mature girl, I'm sure she'll be ok. Well done at getting the house you wanted. (You are very welcome about the help the other week - just glad I could be of assistance.)

Wave to everyone - I'll get round to catching up on fb soon!

chocolatestar · 24/05/2011 20:45

Hello all,

Jana is up all hours at the moment so this is a quick one before I go to bed.

Crazy you must be sooo happy to be finally done! You won't know what to do with yourself now!

QoL - a night off sounds fab to me. What is zumba like? Everyone seems to do it. Is it a good workout do you think?

How's the twin's club going Strawberry? I just have no idea how you do it.

I still haven't heard back from the audition but I don't expect to get it. They only had a couple of places left and the standard was very high. It was a good experience though and with our current situation we probably can't afford for me to do it now anyway.

Off to bed and hopefully some actual decent sleep!

chocolatestar · 24/05/2011 20:46

FloriaTosca · 07/06/2011 17:19

Soooooo sorry...I have no excuse...just didnt want to bore you all with my unimportant whinges and had nothing really of any interest to post but I am thrilled to read all your news.
Crazy So relieved that you have the house you wanted though concerned about your 'wobble' with OH..moving house is one of the most stressfull things you can do and you doing it twice to help your friend makes it doubly so...How is DD1 after the latest fiasco with the tosser brain-dead ex? When is the move planned for now?
QOL fabulous that you are getting your life back and enjoying yourself Smile Zumba sounds fab
choc I hope Jana is letting you sleep a little more now...and I think your positive attitude to the audition is fabulous (I used to get very self-critical and down when I put myself through those ordeals).

Must go and shout at dog owners now....I will try to get back here more often....big "hellos" and air kisses to everyone xxxxx

Crazybit · 07/06/2011 21:53

FT-Naughty! Whinging would be better than silence! Wink And we nosy I like to know whats going on in lives. Anyway eveyone needs to hurry up and getting chatting so we can catch up with whats going on in everyones lives before the meet up! Tell me again what we agreed? We all bring food or send you money for contribution? sorry, I'm rubbish.
Luckily after the wobble, all seems good, was a wake-up call that we both, especially I, needed I think. Hows things with DB and sil type thing?

QOL-So glad you feel you're getting your life back, any news on the romantic front?? Get results from SATS in July I think, she said it went ok and her friend seems to be getting on with it. I suppose there isn't much else he can do. DD1 is fiercely protective of him, so he isn't getting any grief at school as far as I know. (I've seen her in action and she is scary! Wink)

Choc-Hows Jana sleeping now? How's things with everything?
Eva-Ditto with Zara? All good?

News from here, will try to keep it as brief as possible!
DD1 was seeing her dad now and then, usually taking a friend and agreed to sleep over as long as she took a friend. Later that evening I had a call from her, hysterical. He had started questioning her about our new address, she refused to give him it, he got nasty, chasing her down the street and grabbing her by the arms shouting 'idiot' in her face and some pharmacy staff took pity on her (and friend) and took them in the shop with the security guard preventing him form getting in, his gf sat outside the local pub drinking and ignoring DDs pleas for her to help, even though she'd promised DD she would ensure he didn't get agressive towards her. I rushed to pick her up, he started blaming me in the street but left when the staff offered to phone the police, I got the kids in the car and away from there. There are other little things, but that is the main gist of it. Consequently, I've said no access, ever as far as I'm concerned and he can go through court unless DD wants otherwise. So far, she has said she doesn't want to see him, or even speak to him. His solicitor sent a letter requesting new address, school name and all weekend, every weekend contact with no friend, although the client is unsure whether he has any parental responsibility. Hmm Dick He doesn't. I said no way to everything, Waiting for solicitor to get back to me about the next move.

Visited new house last weekend, took all OHs stuff down with us. Nice house but was dirty although its meant to have been cleaned, so had a to-do with all that and ended up cleaning most of the weekend, then had to come back. OH gone to India for 3 weeks with work last week, which is a right pita and such bad timing, and I'm still waiting for the exchange to go through so we can hightail it out of here. Applied for a place at a primary school and she got in at the most desirable (apparently Wink) so we're all set for when we finally get there. Just wish they'd hurry up.

Anyway, was going to get an early night then came on the laptop, so I'm off to bed. Love to all.

Dalrymps · 11/06/2011 08:37

OP posts:
QueenOfLists · 11/06/2011 15:02

Choc - zumba is great - I wouldn't put half so much effort into an aerobics class but because it's dance-based I seem to work harder. Of course, only going once a week isn't going to have much effect but it's better than nothing!

FT - whinges are not unimportant! Everybody needs a moan sometimes - might as well be at us lot Grin. Anything in particular or just life in general?

Crazy - no news on the romantic front - I'm trying to keep up with sending a steady stream of emails, maybe half a dozen a week, but nobody's even replying at the moment. Never mind, it will happen when it's ready. Poor dd1 - hard to believe her dad is still behaving like that - leopards never change their spots I suppose. Don't blame her for not wanting anything to do with him. Good news about dd1 getting in good school, I'm sure things will seem so much better when you're moved and settled in - it will all work out well .

Dal - no advice I'm afraid, dog owners will be much better placed than me.

No real news here, just thought I'd check in! My garden is (almost) finished - or as finished as it can be given my budget - just need some lovely sunny weather now to enjoy it in. I'm starting to get out in the evenings a bit more now too - next door neighbour is happy to babysit once a week or so, so social life is picking up a bit Grin.

Hugs to everyone, hope you're all ok x

FloriaTosca · 12/06/2011 22:45

Hi Just a quickie...spent all weekend rearranging the garden after putting up Alexs new trampoline and realising that 12ft diameter is really too big for moving around our garden (dont want to ruin the grass)....so we have moved all the raised veg beds and have done all the prep for turning the greenhouse round so we can permanently site it on the gravelled area in Thanes part of the garden (for those who have visited and remember the layout)...now utterly shattered but in a self satisfied way ;-)
QOL...I bet your garden looks fab...I hope the weather bucks up so you can enjoy it. My whinges are mainly about DBs partner...nothing anyone can do anything about...I am getting so good at the saccharine sweetness that even Dh and my Mum were convinced that I had been won over ...I am now trying to do my very best to look only at her in a positive light and stick my fingers in my ears when she turns the thumb screws on my idiot brother.... I'm not suceeding very well at that atm Hmm... ho hum... time for bed.
