OHM I take comfort that I am not alone! It's so frustrating isn't it?! Dylan is not in the least bothered or embarrassed about having wet pants. I'm so sick of the washing!
He has a friend from nursery who's a year older than him, he's ok in the day but still wears a pull up at night so guess they all have varying degrees of issues.
I guess my main worry is him being picked on if it's not sorted when he goes to schoolSad.

Today and yesterday I've started the stickers again. Sticker and a high five for keeping his pants dry and going for a wee. If he wee's in his pants he has to take his own pants and trousers off and put them by the washing machine. He's doing ok so far but I've still been reminding him a bit..

Its driving me crazy too!! The mantra "this too shall pass" seems a little hollow when it comes to soggy boys pants Grin

i pray he's 'dry' by the time he goes to university Grin

I do count my blessings though sometimes, things could be worse... we have a friends who have a daughter the same age as Eren and she not only wets herself because she can;t be bothered to go to the toilet, but she poo's herself too!!

That i could not bare!! Her poor mother is desperate to sort her out as nursery have refused to take her because of it... and the reason... pure stubborn laziness according to her.

Dalrymps · 01/09/2011 15:31

Oh god, I couldn't deal with poo pants too! He's had a very occasional poo incident but mostly goes to the loo. He doesn't actually poo that often, if he did poo more often then it might be worse Hmm

Hi all

Crochet, yup am an hour from you, think we're coming on Sat if that's ok..? wont be staying all night though. OH will probably be hungover from his stag do that I did not agree to, he get's back tomorrow, feel free to make his life hell in any way possible, putting him on nappy duty/child climbing frame type person/drumming child near his head will all go some way to making me feel a little bit satisfied Wink He is off to Peru on Moday too, don't know why I bothered moving here, I'm still a single parent just in a smaller, horribler house with no close friends or family within a 250 mile radius, no money of my own and no chance of getting a job due to being up the duff! (Am feeling slightly bitter today just in case people don't notice!)

Dal, See above for reply to you! Blush Plus, I locked myself out the house, had to steal borrow some ladders out of a garden to get into my bedroom window, luckily next doors step dad climbed in for me, although I would have done it if i'd had to.

Shannon poo'd herself at the Ikea play area the other day, said she didn't want to tell them she needed to go, she wasn't really bothered though. Am so thankful she's just wet on a night and not the day though, it is so frustrating. And she keeps taking her sodding stinky nappies off wherever she pulls it off, usually down the bed Hmm but sometimes in the middle of a room (as Em L-c knows ( can't remember MN name!) as she dumped one in her kitchen the other day Blush. I found one in her bedroom earlier and chucked it down for the bin, and it exploded.

Anyway, have just remembered I need to make dd1s pack up, she startes secondary tomorrow, oh and put the bin out. Sigh. Love to all xx

QueenOfLists · 02/09/2011 07:29

Gosh, a lot to catch up with.

FT - Sad that your dn might have hearing problems - are they doing more tests? And no yanbu to have the opinion you do of your sil. How's the diet going?

Dal - no advice to offer apart from what's already been said. Hope things get better soon.

News from here - did end it with R, but on good terms and we've texted since. Hopefully we'll stay friends, but I'll be back on the dating sites as soon as I get round to it!

My back is much better now, only hurts now if I'm sat down for long spells - so I have to remind myself to walk round at work every so often not just plonk in front of the computer for hours on end - and Crochet, it means we won't be able to make it to yours this weekend because of the long drive.

Have had lovely holidays in Devon (single parents' week was fab, I would do that again) and Worcester. Thanks Crazy for your hospitality and your help when I did my back in - sorry dd1 had to sleep on the sofa - has the cat recovered yet from the trauma of two 3yos chasing it round the house?

Talking of diets - I'm starting a month's worth of Diet Chef today - I have a stone that I really need to shift so I'm finally taking drastic action! I'm a bit apprehensive - it's one of those diets where they send you a hamper with all your meals in and there doesn't look enough food!! A friend I saw at the weekend swears by it though, so we'll see...

Must go to work now. Hope everyone ok - love to you all x

Dalrymps · 04/09/2011 11:57

Oh Crazybit what a day you had, hope you're all recovered now.

Qol Good luck with the diet! I lost a stone on ww and now I have fallen off the wagon and gained some back, not all of it but I'm too scared to stand on the scales Blush

Floria So glad to hear your nephew's deafness is treatable. Very strange of your sil to be so blasé about itHmm

Well we are thinking of converting our loft again. We thought about it a whole ago then went off the idea. After looking in to house prices and mortgage options it's gonna be pretty impossible for us to move at the moment. We're thinking our bedroom will be up in the loft then there will be our (old) big bedroom for the boys to share and the boys current bedroom for a possible thirdWink

We're also considering a conservatory just for more space in general but that'll have to wait till we can afford it. We will have to do the loft in stages as it is but have a few payment holidays owed on our mortgage which should get us off to a good startSmile

If anyone has any advice about loft conversions please feel free. Dh's dad did his own and will help/advise us but any more advice gratefully received!

We had a talk the other night and decided to let things happen baby wise, not exactly ttc, just not using protection and seeing what happensGrin

Dylan's doing quite well at keeping his pants dry if we give him a sticker when he does then goes for a wee. Still, not sure how he'll do back at nursery on wedHmm

How is everyone? Thinking of you all!Smile

QoL-Cat is still traumatised I think Grin Glad your back has eased and good luck with the diet.

Dal-I know nothing about loft conversions but sounds like a good compromise :)

Dalrymps · 07/09/2011 09:09

How you doing crazybit? Feeling less homesick?

OP posts:
Crazybit · 07/09/2011 19:47

Hi Dal, trying not to think about it. Got quite low last week and over the weekend and having to not think about sad stuff or wont get my butt out of bed.

How's the potty training?

Dalrymps · 07/09/2011 23:36

Aww crazy in sorry it's getting you down. Please remember we're all here anytime you just want to talk or moan or whatever!

Potty training is not much different. 1st day back at nursery today. He wet for 3 wee's in 3 hours at their insistence then pee'd himself just before I collected himHmm

OP posts:
Crazybit · 08/09/2011 21:56

Thanks Dal. I'm not too bad this week, hopefully I can stay like this.

Re potty training, it was Shannons first full day today and she'd wet herself when I picked her up. She wasn't bothered, just said she forgot as she was playing with a castle.

Dalrymps · 09/09/2011 09:22

Ah glad you're not too bad at the moment..

Aww understandable Shannon was distracted by new toys. Makes me feel a little better about Dylan too. Spoke to hv and she said to get him checked by dr to make sure no low level infection there and to keep a diary of all wee's and drinks. She did say him getting distracted is pretty normal and that boys generally take longer.

OP posts:
Crazybit · 09/09/2011 10:20

Well for the first time EVER, Shannon had a dry nappy this morning. Had taken her to toilet at 11pm and she came in at 2am ish to say she'd had a bad dream and she said she'd been going ot toilet. Was so pleased I gave her a tinkerbell DVD as a reward, was meant to be for her birthday but she has other stuff Grin

Good point about the water infection, could be the case.

QueenOfLists · 12/09/2011 07:53

Dal - how exciting! Both the not trying for a 3rd, and the loft conversion.

Crazy - well done Shannon! Hope that's the first night of many for you.

Went to a bbq yesterday, which was my first non-diet day since a week last Friday. I am definitely not standing on the scales this morning! Will have to be good now for the rest of the week. It's going well though, the food is delicious (on the whole) and the hunger pangs are fading Hmm.

Taking Anya shopping today for new autumn clothes - Asda here we come!

Dalrymps · 12/09/2011 08:30

Crazy - That's great about ShannonSmile well done to her! Hope it continuesSmile

Qol - sounds like you're doing well to stick to the diet, everyone needs a day of here and there ad there isn't much BBQ weather left!

The casual trying has commencedGrin I feel more cautious this time round. I know it might sound silly but I feel so lucky to have had two healthy boys with no real problems during pregnancy and birth. I almost feel I'm due for something to go wrong, as if it's the law of averages or somethingHmmGuess I'll just have to put that thought to the back of my mind and just see how things go..

How is everyone this awful, grey, rainy Monday morning?Grin

What part of the country are you from?

OP posts:
jimmijam · 19/09/2011 09:51

We used 2 live in the midlands but now we're in somerset :-)
Much prefer living by the sea!
Im assuming most of the lo's in this thread r @ nursery? Ours is only there 4 his free hours now, its done wonders 4 his speech & confidence & preparing him 4 school!! Am considering also putting him in2 pre-school 1 morning a week but not sure if that may just confuse him
sorry 4 typos am on my (slow) phone

oneveryhappymama · 19/09/2011 20:05

Hello Jimmijam!!! Welcome to the thread, these ladies are a handful in a million :)

I have 1 DS who will be 4 on 21st Oct, i am currently 7 months pregnant with my next rugrat, and don;t know what we're having so it'll be a nice surprise in late November.

I live in North London, and am very jealous of you living by the coast!!

Well, news from me.... Eren has started nursery, he now goes every afternoon and so far has been doing it for a week. I have been on tenterhooks about it for a while, and thankfully it hasn't been as bad as i thought it was going to be, he still has separation anxiety but most days he has been happy to go in though the 'magic doors' fuss free. He loves it once he's in there, he just wants to know mummy is near by if he needs me!! Bloomin mummy's boy eh.
I've taken a couple of weeks off work to take him to school, pick him up etc, and have also arranged with work so that i can finish early and at least pick him up from school which is fab, as its only for a 4-5 weeks when i then go on maternity leave.

I'm really enjoying being a proper full-time mum again if only for a couple of weeks!!!

pregnancy is going well, SPD/PGP not so good, i'm in agony at night, can;t bend down very often and can just about manage a waddle around a supermarket before i have to collapse in a chair/bench/ car!

I also have the start of all the embarrassing 3rd trimester pregnancy issues i forgot about from DS1... i feel like i'm wee'ing myself all the time Blush its soooo not sexy right now!!!

anyway, love to all.

Crazybit · 19/09/2011 20:45

Hi Ladies, going to be a quicky as I am a ratty hormonal mess and tired.

Welcome Jimjams, I have Shannon 5/10/07, eleven year old dd1 andf also pregnant, due Feb. I moved from Yorkshire to near Bristol a couple of months ago, so not too far from you :) This group is amazing, and I feel so lucky to be part of it :)

Dal Shock Can't believe you're going for number 3, OMG! Good luck with the not trying Wink I hear it's better to haave them close together in terms of pregnancy as aftewr a couple of years, your body has to start all over again with being pregnant, whereas within the first couple of years after one, it remembers iyswim. You are healthy and young, all will be fine :)

QOL-How's the diet going? Hope your back is completely better. Any news on the dating??

OHM-Awwww so sorry about the SPD (What's PGP?) Guess theres not a lot to be done, except give birth. Greaat news about Eren, so glad he's not too bad at nursery, less stressful for you :) Shannon loves her new nursery and wants to go forever Grin Don''t know about thirs trimester preg related stuff, I've been pissing myself for weeks. Joy. I keep doing pelvic floor excercises, but think I am past thge point of no return.

Things are pretty samey here, trying not to be resentful of OH treking in Peru while I do day in day out stuff, but am getting pi$$ed off quite easily. I know it's bad but I would love a cigarette, have had a couple of sneaky puffs when my dad was here, and also when my mum was here but have managed to restrain buying them, hard going though, would be a lot nicer person if I where smoking again!

Anyway, knew you'd all enjoy my little ray of sunshine post Wink
Something to give you a chuckle-Shannon told me earlier that my bum is MASSIVE, cause the baby has gone into it to try to get out. Hmm Oh and she's also moving in next door as there are no rules and lots of toys. Such a loving child. Wink Grin

QueenOfLists · 20/09/2011 07:25

Quick post before I go to work.

JimmiJam - welcome to our little group! I have one daughter, Anya, born 2 Oct and I live in Manchester.

OVHM - glad Eren's settled into nursery so well. Can't believe you're on maternity soon - how it's flown!

Crazy - well done resisting the cigarettes (mostly!) - it's awful being hormonal - when's oh back? Lol at Shannon moving next door.

News from here - diet is going extremely well, I have lost 10 pounds Shock in two+half weeks! Not entirely sure that it's healthy to lose weight that fast - I'm going to have to be careful when I come off it not to stuff my face and put it all back on again Grin!

On the dating front.... I sent Rob a text last night asking if he wanted to go out for a drink this weekend. I miss him and I have a nagging doubt that I threw in the towel a bit too easily. Anyway, we'll see - he's not replied yet...

jimmijam · 20/09/2011 12:31

Thanku all 4 the kind welcome! I shall catch up on more posts wen on the computer.
queen well dun u on the weight loss!!
Ds1 (born 18th oct 07) i think had nightmares last night :+( coupled with a newborn = not much sleep. @ least dd slept wel! A year or so back ds1 had nightmares which ended wen we started putting films on in his room @ night. This time around i have no idea wot we'll do- any suggestions much appreciatd pls! ;-)

oneveryhappymama · 22/09/2011 14:51

Jimmijam, has DS told you why he is having nightmares or what they are about..?
We talk to DS about this when they crop up, and try to put things into context, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn;t.
The other night he wanted to know more about volcanoes and lava..... a normal thng for a almost 4 your old you would have thought.. so DH told him and showed him some pics etc on his laptop.... BAD MOVE!! DS has now been going on and on about molten lava coming into the house and killing everyone, he has had 1 night of restlessness all because he is obsessing about this volcano thing!! We took him in to bed with s that night and he has been fine ever since.
You just do what ever seems right for your child at the time....

Queen.... well done you on your weightloss!! Did you hear back from Rob yet..?

Crazy... you feeling any better..?

x

jimmijam · 22/09/2011 16:36

Thanks 1vhm prob a silly question, but wots s ? Wen ds is scared/upset he doesnt talk, takes him a while 2 even nod/shake his head. & iv tried talking 2 him about dreams b4 but he doesnt understand. He's a bit of a slow developer (a shock 2 us after having a dd who was ahead with everything, tho now she's levelled out).
Last couple of nights have been ok, tho he got up once last night then this morning i found him asleep on the sofa not in his bed!
