Some Trump supporters already feeling voter's remorse

I wonder why, what particular thing made them change their minds, at this late date, after just a week.

Of course, it confirms my opinion of the stupidity of Trumpers, that they're so ignorant that they imagine you can change your vote after the fact.

Wasn't the most searched for content after Brexit "What's Brexit?"

They have got exactly what they voted for as this is the second time they voted him in. Trump unlike many politicians, has never tried to hide what he is.

I don't believe the majority of Trump voters regret their decision.

OhcantthInkofaname · 14/11/2024 01:34

Just wait for two years from now!

TERFCat · 14/11/2024 01:40

Really? Everyone I know who voted for him is delighted!

nomoretoriesforme · 14/11/2024 01:55

Let it go. You need therapy

Riapia · 14/11/2024 01:59

A little more thinking beforehand may have helped to avoid the regret.

Tryingtokeepgoing · 14/11/2024 02:59

To be fair, there are plenty of people this side of the pond with voters remorse having seen the utter shambles of a Labour cabinet acting like kids in a sweet shop and, as became clear very quickly, not having a plan.

sykadelic · 14/11/2024 03:19

Literally nothing has changed (yet) and won't for several weeks. He hasn't been sworn in yet.

No-one I know has wished they could change their decision.

Topseyt123 · 14/11/2024 03:36

If this is so then I have no sympathy for them at all.

MrPickles001 · 14/11/2024 03:46

this is why people should study their politicians and or potential presidents etc to avoid the voting error

I am not sure what was the most searched. ‘What is the EU’ also spiked. I think there was a lot more remorse on the EU referendum than there can be on the presidential election surely, seeing as Trump is hardly an unknown candidate with zero track record of presidency…

It's not so. It's the lamestream media doing what they always do - making shit up. Just like they did with the Russiagate hoax.
The reality is, former Berners are all very happy that Trump just named Tulsi Gabbard to be Director of National Intelligence. Go,Tulsi!

I think Trump 2.0 will be Trump on steroids but we'll see.

I looked it up and What's the EU? What's Brexit? and How to emigrate? How many countries in the EU spiked amongst other things.

Nordione1 · 14/11/2024 14:14

OP why do you assume that "How to change my vote" was typed in by Trump voters? Maybe some people are embarrassed they voted for the losers. And calling Trump voters (quite a few people in the US) stupid and ignorant probably won't endear them to your side next time they vote. But that's pretty obvious. I don't know why the left wing can't seem to pick up on that....perhaps not the sharpest tools in the box....

I notice that posters who use slurs, either of people or anything else, like "lamestream media" tend to be biased and ill-informed. For instance, they use meaningless phrases like "Russia hoax" without ever providing supporting evidence.

Of course, we can guess that someone using the phrase "lamestream media" probably gravitates to crazy fringe sites that push disinformation.

It's actually a statistical fact that Trump voters tend to be less educated.

Also a personal observation that Trump voters tend to have worse writing skills, and are less likely to be able to provide facts and make a coherent point when posting online.

Unlike you, I don't find it funny.

Do you think because some of them didn't get a college degree for example that they shouldn't be allowed to vote? What about all the many Trump voters who are much much much better educated than you but still voted the same way as the "less educated".

Do you think that you are somehow better than them as you put an X in one box rather than the other? It looks like you do think that. Remember there's no actual Judge overseeing all votes and judging one voter to be better and cleverer than the other. That's just in your mind.

I really wish people would stop calling people who may disagree with them about something stupid or idiots or any other ridiculous and pejorative thing.

Think to yourself,
I May Be Wrong.

and apply that in your treatment of other human beings.

To be fair lots of people didn't vote in the EU referendum.

But I'm sure lots would have voted against it if the remainder campaign was any good and the idiots who voted for it realised what a shit storm it was going to be (I'd hope anyway)

OppsUpsSide · 16/11/2024 23:15

Has anyone considered it might be Democrat voters making these searches?

There were debates, TV shows, Radio shows and newspaper articles for a long time before the referendum. Everyone was aware the referendum was taking place and what the choice was.

Everyone was talking about it; people fell out about it. The facts were there should anyone wish to know. We've never had so much information at our fingertips.

People were very open about what a stupid idea it was but people argued until they were blue in the face that they were right. A lot of people voted against their own interests and wouldn't listen to reason.

If they chose not to vote or to listen to reason, there's not much other people can do.

Markham66 · 16/11/2024 23:53

Hilarious. I live in Canada and work with lots of Americans. They are delighted. The stock market has responded positively. Even the democrat voters are happy.

This is again a tiresome and meaningless post which reflects a similar attitude to the OP about people who vote a different way to them. You have the freedom to vote the way you chose. Your vote has exactly the same weight as someone who left school at 15 and someone who has a PHD. You had no insight as to what the "right" way to vote is or the "wrong" way and still don't. In the case of Brexit and Trump there were more people who voted differently from you than those who agreed with you. That's democracy. If you can't understand how democracy works you shouldn't participate.

Nordione1 · 17/11/2024 17:51

The number of self-appointed geniuses on this thread who feel confident enough to call anyone who voted differently from them "ignorant", "less educated" and unable to "listen to reason" is excruciatingly embarrassing.

I'm not denying people the right to vote. I'm not against the democratic process. I'm saying that the proof of how rational a Brexit vote was in the consequences. Even you can't deny reality.

I hate to break it to you, but sometimes the majority aren't right. Just because loads of people agree with you or have the loudest voice, it doesn't make them right.
