I know she is reading a script and had to give a "ra ra" speech at that convention, but to hear Kamala Harris call america the "greatest country in the world" was still outrageous.
The most racist, bigoted entity in all of human history, america is a white settler entity who dehumanised the indigenous people as "savages" in its white settler "declaration" written by the 600 plus slave owning racist, white supremacist tyrant thomas jefferson, while he also wrote "blacks are inferior to the whites in the endowments of body and mind".

Two of america's race laws (white only citizenship, and no race mixing) were emulated by the Nazis in the Nuremberg laws.

Kamala Harris not being white is not a true american per the 1790 naturalization act (white only citizens) drawn up by the slave owning racist tyrants who founded that white settler entity. She's a neo-american. The racist pro slavery national anthem with lyrics written by the slave owner francis scott key, to see a person of African descent stand for an anthem that excoriated their ancestors for escaping from their american captors to gain their freedom, is utterly surreal.
As for the "city on a hill", a line by a Puritan...the Puritans being a bigoted, persecuting cult who would have had me, a catholic (as well as any other faith that didn't conform to their cult), hanging from a tree.
Think of the crimes committed by this white settler entity. The millions of non white people murdered. The lynchings. The enslavement of 4 million Africans (whom the 48 million today are descendants), dragged across the Atlantic in chains to work the plantations of the elite (the planter class, george washington, thomas Jefferson et al.), on land stole from the "savages" who were eviscerated and ethnically cleansed. Look at that white supremacist Discovery of america sculpture of a "savage" woman and the all conquering white man (columbus), that stood outside the us Capitol (a building built by slaves, just like the White House) for over a century.

Kamala Harris will say anything to get elected. An entity founded on terrorising non white PEOPLE (not savages america, PEOPLE), enslavement, and all the race laws over two centuries, and she, with a straight face, comes out with that?
