And I confess myself very surprised.

Kamala Harris' fundraising reaches a record-breaking $100 million since Biden's exit

Why are you surprised? People putting their money where their mouth is. Trump is more popular amongst the poorer folk as he makes his empty promises.

Igotjelly · 24/07/2024 07:36

Why are you surprised? The money is from traditional Democratic donors who were withholding it because they were unhappy with Biden being the candidate. That issue has now been resolved so the taps have reopened.

Willmafrockfit · 24/07/2024 07:42

crazy system

Shitandrun · 24/07/2024 07:44

That's hopeful. I don't think the world could take another 4 years of the orange tycoon.

KewBridgeSteamMuseum · 24/07/2024 07:48

The donors went on strike after the debate. Now they're giving the money they were going to give a couple of weeks ago.

Alexandra2001 · 24/07/2024 07:49

Good, the US now has a real choice.... i'm really hoping she can win.

MouseofCommons · 24/07/2024 07:52

Good. She's already got Trump worried.

Moonshiners · 24/07/2024 07:54

Thank god. Some sanity.
I keep hoping he has a non life threatening, temporarily debilitating illness that means he can't speak or type for 4 months. The racist, sexist drivel he comes out with is awful

KeepinOn · 24/07/2024 07:59

Donation funds don't equal a win. We'll see what happens.

twodowntwotogo · 24/07/2024 09:03

Why are you surprised? It's almost 900,000 individual pledges so not just big corporate donors. I'm so pleased.

Zonder · 24/07/2024 09:08

I'd pay if I was in the US and thought it would help de-Trump the country.

DarkandStormyNightie · 24/07/2024 09:18

She's also up in the polls as well...already! the orange one must be very worried now

Harris 44%
Trump 42%

Doesn’t matter about the money or the polls. Right now dem voters experiencing some sort of collective high but they need to get real.

The first test is the debate. Kamala has a tendency to waffle banalities and comes across as nervous at times.

The focus needs to be on the prep for the debate, as we seen how the debate changed everything for Biden. It too can for Kamala.

Absolutely agree they need to prep. Hopefully it does change things for Kamala and proves she can indeed hold her own against the orange idiot.

Very excited - Trump has not made a good VP pick, Vance's cat lady jibe looks like a loser to me. Her first speech in Wisconsin was v good.

Plumpribbon · 24/07/2024 15:10

Some Republicans are already questioning the merit of Vance. He was a terrible pick.

If the was Trump/moderate VP running against Biden/Harris - trump would 100% win.

But Trump/Vance against Harris/any of the top 3VP candidates- then I can see it slipping from Trump

Some republicans are already privately voicing their concerns about Vance. Vance is Trumps downfall even if he makes it to the Whitehouse

GliGammonati · 24/07/2024 15:12

Exciting times!

Overtheatlantic · 24/07/2024 15:14

I think Vance came with a dowry, essentially, and Trump is all about the money.

I've seen rumours that Trump is already looking to remove him (not even sure if that's possible at this point), I would pay good money to watch that relationship fall apart publicly.

MorrisZapp · 24/07/2024 15:32

I saw Anthony Scaramucci on a podcast saying that Trump hated Vances speech. 'he hates smart people'. He'll want to sack him at the first sign of trouble, but there's no mechanism for it.

robovacsareepic · 24/07/2024 15:32

I hope we're going to see Vance get dumped, here with the popcorn!

Harris's line about we're not going back is a good one, she's made a strong start.

Igotjelly · 24/07/2024 15:35

I thought the way she introduced Project 2025 with a bit of derisory humour hit hard and I hope she continues to press that point And highlight just how fucked up it is.

CassieMaddox · 24/07/2024 15:40

I think the UK and France have both recently shown that despite how things appear on the Internet, most people don't want a divisive populist government. Biden was not electable but I bet a lot of people will hold their nose and vote Harris so as not to run the risk of Trump/Vance.

Trump made the wrong pick to go up against Harris - I think he must have believed his own hype that the Democrats wouldn't pick her.

It's hard to know what she's actually like from media coverage but I'm hoping in the debates she will come across better than expected.

robovacsareepic · 24/07/2024 15:40

Harris landed the 'Trump wants tax and social security cuts for the rich' stuff too.

CassieMaddox · 24/07/2024 15:50

"President Trump is thrilled with the choice he made with Senator Vance, and they are the perfect team to take back the White House. And any reporting to the contrary is nothing but ridiculous fake news from either non-existent sources or individuals who have no idea what's going on," Cheung said.

😂sounds like he got Trump AI to write that
