The entire world's movers and shakers, swindlers and fakers, public money piss-takers will be watching in trepidation at what Trump will do to them. The entire world's great and the good, high and the mighty, shifty and flighty will be supporting Hillary. Will you be with the people supporting Trump?

Have you got the ice cream, the chocolate, the biscuits and the matchsticks to keep the eyelids open ready?

As a warm-up, here is Sky News's 30 minute documentary shown last night

"Trump. Could it really happen?"

My favourite bit of the 'apologies' that came out after the video was when they said DT has 'matured' since then.

He was Fifty-fucking-nine in the video. It's not like he's having to defend the actions of his 18 year old self!

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 14:37

I think it's going to get filthy beyond belief. Everything will be done short of actually shooting the man. And most of it will be done by 'the media' - not by the Clinton campaign directly, but by the Clinton campaign indirectly.

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 14:46

It may be that Hillary comes out looking like a hypocrite from this. She didn't deplore her husband the same way and he actually carried out abuse. I wonder what will happen.

Bluegrass · 08/10/2016 14:48

Trump admitted to assault on tape. How is that not "actually carrying out" abuse? Are we to imagine these are just words?

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 14:51

Excuse me: I mean Bill's crimes are perceived as worse. And she didn't deplore them whether they were worse or not.

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 14:53

'This is horrific.' she says. She didn't say that about the women her husband abused. I'm sorry but you might find people quietening down but they register these things. They remember. I think it's a sharp failing of the Clinton team that they think voters are, essentially, like goldfish but stupider.

Frank Luntz (Univ. of Pennsylvania and University of Oxford) hyping it up on Fox that a twitter poll he has put out has 44% of 21000 people wanting Trump to drop out. He says that the 2nd debate will be Trump's Waterloo and that Mike Pence should take over but he doesn't believe Trump will drop out even though some of the Republican Establishment will call for it.

Media will try to drive the perceptions of the public (just like in Brexit) that Trump can't win, but I don't believe them. I think the public will confound the media.

Frank Luntz studied at Oxford, he is not there now and is not an academic etc.

Ugh I didn't realize Bill Clinton had been accused of so many assaults (just Googled it). I was aware that he was a serial philanderer, but did not know about the rest.

He's a sleaze, no doubt about that. And I do believe that Hilary defended him and attacked some of his accusers when she shouldn't have. She's no angel.

Still doesn't excuse Trump of his behaviour at all. One sleaze bag does not cancel out the other.

claig · 08/10/2016 15:16

He is the pollster that BBC Newsnight often interview over polls for our elections.

'Ugh I didn't realize Bill Clinton had been accused of so many assaults'

Wait and hear until what some of the women claimed he did. I have never heard anything like it.

claig you will kniw

When would be the best time to start watching the election uk time

I know you will say watch the whole thing but when do you think it will start getting really interesting/nail biting?

Want to watch with ds1 but i dont want to stay up all night to do it Grin

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 08/10/2016 15:21

That should be 'know' obviously

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 15:23

She's no angel. Still doesn't excuse Trump of his behaviour at all. One sleaze bag does not cancel out the other.

That's what Trump supporters are saying. 'Just because Trump did this doesn't cancel out what Hillary did'. It works both ways. I pity US voters. What a choice.

claig · 08/10/2016 15:23

I will check the time. I think this one is in Ohio. It is 9pm US time in whatever state it is, usually 2am our time but it depends on which region of the US it is.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 08/10/2016 15:26

Thanks, is like an election here where some areas are more 'important" than others

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 15:30

Rufus I think Claig gave you the debate time? Do you mean watch the election results come in?

Wouldn't that be an evening /late day time event. If NY wakes up at four ish our time? Polls close eight am ish NY? So west coast.. close at two pm ish? And results through teatime and evening. Yes some states are bellwethers.

Lweji · 08/10/2016 15:34

A google search of Trump's sexual scandals is just as much or more worrying:

www.huffingtonpost.com/lisa-bloom/why-the-new-child-rape-ca_b_10619944.html

Maybe the US could let Obama stay another year and find two new nominees.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 08/10/2016 15:36

Ooh yes winchester i did mean that

So 2pm is good...for as long as we can stand it

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 15:37

He'd have to come off the golf course though - not sure he'd be keen. Maybe Mich will step up.

claig · 08/10/2016 15:37

It is in Missouri, Eastern Time, so 2am our time. Better to watch on CNN or Fox than BBC or Channel 4 because US pundits are far more knowledgeable than our pundits.

UnGoogleable · 08/10/2016 15:39

Maybe the US could let Obama stay another year and find two new nominees Or just let Michelle stay on and take over her husband's job. I so want her to be president one day. Sadly I think Hilary is tarnishing the 'First Lady becoming President' image...

Roussette · 08/10/2016 15:39

Robert de Niro speaks out

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 08/10/2016 15:40

Thanks claig will tell ds1 CNN or FOX

WinchesterWoman · 08/10/2016 15:40

Missouri, Ohio, are bellwethers - there must be more. I think I'm wrong about the timing because polls close earlier, like 7 ish rather than 10 as here. So polls close in Ohio just before midnight our time. Maybe it is an all nighter after all.
