The entire world's movers and shakers, swindlers and fakers, public money piss-takers will be watching in trepidation at what Trump will do to them. The entire world's great and the good, high and the mighty, shifty and flighty will be supporting Hillary. Will you be with the people supporting Trump?

Have you got the ice cream, the chocolate, the biscuits and the matchsticks to keep the eyelids open ready?

As a warm-up, here is Sky News's 30 minute documentary shown last night

"Trump. Could it really happen?"

I didn't realise it was postal votes that were the problem Want, I thought it was at the polling station which is why Trump is urging all his fans to roll up to stations and watch who goes in and out

Want2bSupermum · 07/10/2016 18:49

Postal votes is exactly where the issues are. In my town I have heard that what happens is that the voting forms are collected from people living in the section 8 housing and the person collecting them pays $15-20 per voting form. They then fill them out on behalf of the person they collected them from and mail them in.

Personally I think every single time you have so many postal votes going in one direction in a town there should be an investigation. They don't investigate. Bush won Florida with postal votes. Very convenient.

PigletJohn · 07/10/2016 19:18

"when you are making $100k as a household, expecting that family to pay $30k upfront and giving them back $20k at the end of the year does not work. That is why it is unaffordable"

That's not an affordability problem. It's a faulty process problem.

Roussette · 07/10/2016 19:59

Why then want is Trump so obsessed with taking on his fans to police polling stations.

I am of course not doubting what you say. I don't live in the US. Just curious

Lweji · 07/10/2016 20:12

You think he can't get any lower, but then, he can
Donald Trump urges terminally-ill voters to hang on until election

Amazing.

"I don't care how sick you are. I don't care if you just came back from the doctor and he gave you the worst possible prognosis, meaning it's over. You won't be around in two weeks. It doesn't matter. Hang out till November 8. Get out and vote."
Shock

Even more shocking are the laughs in the audience.

Conceited twat.

claig · 07/10/2016 20:31

Trump has nbeen saying that from the beginning. He also adds "if your husband or wife has just left you ... get out and vote"

It is a joke that is why the audience laughs. Trump is the funniest politician ever, that is one of teh reasons he is so popular.

The round 2 debate will be a must watch. The consensus on US talkshows with Trump fans is that the "real Trump" will have to come out in the 2nd debate, no more "politically correct Trump". The consensus is that some of his politically correct advisers may be Establishment and he will have to ignore their advice.

Now I have this picture of claig sitting at home on her own cackling maniacally whenever Trump opens his mouth. It's really rather unsettling.

Lweji · 07/10/2016 20:39

So, it's funny because it's true that he doesn't care about people, just wants them to vote?

This is one of the jokes you'll have to explain to me.

Lweji · 07/10/2016 20:43

Just adding that my dad died recently, after being given weeks to live.

I'm really struggling to laugh with Trump on that one. It's incredibly insensitive, and not just due to personal circumstances.

claig · 07/10/2016 20:58

'So, it's funny because it's true that he doesn't care about people, just wants them to vote?

This is one of the jokes you'll have to explain to me.'

He doesn't mean it. He pretends that the vote is more important than a marriage breakdown and someone being on their deathbed, that they should vote for him above all else. He pretends that he cares only about himself and not for the voters. That is why it is funny, because he is pretending, he is not being serious and that is why the crowd laughs.

OP posts:
claig · 07/10/2016 21:00

Also he pretends that just by him saying it, people in those circumstances will do what he says when he knows that they won't and so do the audience which is why they laugh.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/10/2016 21:04

it's not in the tiniest bit funny. It's awful.

claig · 07/10/2016 21:04

He also always says that unlike the political class who say it is important to vote and to use your vote even if it is for another candidate because people fought for the vote, he says that is rubbish, if you are not going to vote for him, then don't vote at all and that is also funny in the faux realism which shows up the hypocrisy of the political class who are too afraid to tell the truth and what they really think.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/10/2016 21:05

I'm sorry about your Dad Lweji.

claig · 07/10/2016 21:06

'it's not in the tiniest bit funny. It's awful.'

Then you would be better off not watching the barrel of laughs in front of crowds of tens of thousands who queue for more than 12 hours in the rain and snow to see a Trump rally where the jokes come thick and fast.

OP posts:
Lweji · 07/10/2016 21:11

Thanks, Kitten.

So, claig, you and Trump think it's ok to make jokes at the expense of people who've been given weeks to live?
Do you think anyone in those circumstances, or their families, will be joining with the laughing?
Would you be laughing if he had told your dying child that he didn't care, just as long as he/she voted for him? Really?
And this is who you want to be President of a country like the USA?

claig · 07/10/2016 21:15

'So, claig, you and Trump think it's ok to make jokes at the expense of people who've been given weeks to live? '

He is not making jokes at their expense, he is making a joke at his own expense, mocking the whole electoral process and his candidacy which is why it is funny. It is not serious, he doesn't mean it. He pretends he is such an egotistical ogre that everyone should put a vote for hi above anything else and that is funny because nobody will.

OP posts:
claig · 07/10/2016 21:16

'And this is who you want to be President of a country like the USA?'

Absolument and so do millions and millions of Trump fans against the wishes and prayers of the Establishment.

OP posts:
Lweji · 07/10/2016 21:19

Good luck getting out of that deep well you got yourself into, claig. You're just as insensitive as Trump.

Just the mention of those circumstances is revolting enough. As part of a joke, it's just sick.

claig · 07/10/2016 21:21

You have got a sense of humour failure. You need jokes explained to you. You don't realise that he is not being serious and is pulling your leg. You are better off watching a George Osborne rally, there are no jokes there and nothing to laugh at.

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 07/10/2016 21:28

Lweji re your philly link: my point is no one will believe that. Millions believe officials and the press are liars now

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/10/2016 21:29

you are coming across as deeply unpleasant at the moment Claig. You appear to have no sense of empathy.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 07/10/2016 21:31

Brian Blessed nails it - www.itv.com/news/2016-10-07/hes-a-total-complete-utter-moron-brian-blessed-delivers-his-damning-verdict-on-trump/

Not for nothing is Blessed universally hailed as a national treasure.

claig · 07/10/2016 21:33

'You appear to have no sense of empathy.'

Of course I have empathy, you appear to have a sense of humour bypass. The reason it is funny is because it is not serious despite Trump's pretence that it is.

But everyone has a different sense of humour. If you don't see that it is not serious, OK, not everyone gets it.
