The entire world's movers and shakers, swindlers and fakers, public money piss-takers will be watching in trepidation at what Trump will do to them. The entire world's great and the good, high and the mighty, shifty and flighty will be supporting Hillary. Will you be with the people supporting Trump?

Have you got the ice cream, the chocolate, the biscuits and the matchsticks to keep the eyelids open ready?

As a warm-up, here is Sky News's 30 minute documentary shown last night

"Trump. Could it really happen?"

I don't think taxes should be cut for those things. I think Cameron spent public money on some charidees where he was "mesmerised" by the charidee boss.

Ah, so just the one that you have in mind then ... Not really a cast-iron case for a policy decision is it?

Adnerb95 · 30/09/2016 22:54

Oh and if people follow Trump's lead and don't pay taxes, how do "those things" get paid for?

Lweji · 30/09/2016 23:51

Wait a minute.

What charities are you talking about? Fake charities? Like Trump's?
Or of this sort: www.theguardian.com/society/2016/mar/18/budget-disability-benefits-cut-just-a-suggestion-nicky-morgan (disability charities)?

or did you mean this: www.cameronfund.org.uk/ ?

Roussette · 01/10/2016 00:13

That last long post of yours claig was very ranty and incoherent, I'm just wondering where this pot of gold lies to fund everything when Trump who is not into paying tax himself also wants to cut tax....resulting in predicted deficits of $9 trillion in a decade..

claig · 01/10/2016 00:44

Trump doesn't literally mean people should pay no txes and he pays taxes. What he is doing is the usual conservative argument that government wastes tax revenue on lots of things and that everyone should be taxed less so that they have more money in their pockets which they spend as they choose wich grows the economy and creates employment which generates tax revenue. By restricting the tax revenue per person, the government can no longer afford to be "mesmerised" by a charidee or a BBC presenter or a bomb to drop and can instead focus public spending on core issues.

That is what Trump is going to do by slashing taxes for people and corporations. He intends to slash the defict by rengotiatng trade deals, cutting government waste and increasing business activity and employment by cutting taxes.

claig · 01/10/2016 01:02

This is just one example of the waste of taxpayer money by the entitled public officials with public money

"MPs spend £400,000 of taxpayers' money on just TWELVE fig trees for their offices - and they are only RENTED

Trees cannot be seen by members of the public unless they are invited to meet their MP at the offices"

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2101000/MPs-spend-400k-taxpayers-money-12-fig-trees-offices.html

Trump doesn't want taxpayer money to be "squandered" by the political class. He wants people to keep more money in their pockets and not pay for the equivalent of "moats and duckhouses" for the political class.

Granted Trump had a bad week because his advisers messed up,

But surely if Trump were as brilliant as you claim, he would know when to override his duff advisers.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 01/10/2016 01:52

charidee is a really horrible term, commonly used by people who don't give to charity and try to cover up by mocking people who do.

claig · 01/10/2016 02:17

'But surely if Trump were as brilliant as you claim, he would know when to override his duff advisers.'

He is not that brilliant, he makes lots of stupid mistakes and says lots of stupid things.

Charidee is a term used to describe some of the "charities" that the some of the political class have links with.

"Charities ‘lose trust’ of public

THE public are becoming increasingly distrustful of charities in the UK, after a series of high-profile scandals raised questions over aggressive fund-raising tactics and the embellishment of funds, research for the Charity Commission suggests."

Maybe you should take a look at your own idol's charidee.

claig · 01/10/2016 02:58

'Maybe you should take a look at your own idol's charidee.'

It doesn't surprise me, probably just like so many of the other charidees. He is only doing what they do.

Totally agree LadyConstance. Just plain nasty... having volunteered for a charity for over ten years now, I take offence at that word. Charities do a lot of good so please do not tar them all with the same brush claig and perhaps you could refrain from using the word 'charidee'?

So Trump is now attacking HC on her marriage and infidelity. Pot. Kettle. Black.

He is not that brilliant, he makes lots of stupid mistakes and says lots of stupid things

And he's going for the top job Scary.

Do we really want a President of the US who makes stupid mistakes, says stupid things - imagine him on the world stage. In fact, I'd rather not.

Lweji · 01/10/2016 08:19

You are such a hypocrite.

You bang on all politicians for all sorts of reasons, claim that Trump is the second coming, then excuse everything in him that is worse than the rest. Because it is.

You've just done a David Duke.
Trump's lack of charity has been mentioned on these threads several times. Now you claim you don't know? And that you'll look into it and it's just as anyone else?
You, who knows so much about Trump?

Oh, wait, it's all just a joke for you, right?

My feeling is that you know just how bad Trump will be and you're sitting in glee antecipating it all.
Not bad for an imaginary Establishment that he isn't part of, but for the entire US and you and me, in the end.

You sound like a child ready to bring down a house of cards, not realising what took to build it up and that it needs to be tied up when it's taken down.

This is not a joke. Or a game. This is real life. Trump is the least likely person to challenge the bad parts of the establishment, because he is the epitome of the bad parts of the establishment.

You are acting like a rat happily following the pier piper all the way down the cliff, ignoring any signs that you're heading that way.

claig · 01/10/2016 08:33

'You are such a hypocrite. '

No I'm not. I said I am not surprised about Trump's charity because I am not surprised by many charidees. I an with the millions of people who have lost faith in the political class and charities that they or their mates are linked to.

I am like the millions of Americans who will vote for Trump. None of us care about the dodgy stuff that Trump does or says because Trump is a "change agent", the hope that someone will change things and kick ass of the Establishment and their cronies. That is the whole reson Trump is so popular.

As boving promoter DonKing said

"The Republicans didn't want him, the Democrats didn't want him, the Establishment didn't want him, the only reson he is on the stage is because of the people's will"

World leaders don't want him, the UN tweeted that 8 million Americans living abroad should vote against him, the great and the good don't want him, but the people do want him. He is their worst nightmare and the people's hope.

U.N news agency scrubs tweet calling on Americans abroad to 'end Trump'

www.politico.com/story/2016/09/un-news-agency-scrubs-tweet-calling-on-foreign-citizens-to-end-trump-228934

'So Trump is now attacking HC on her marriage and infidelity. Pot. Kettle. Black. '

We will have to see if he really has the courage to fight back. As Mollie Hemingway of the Federalist said, he now has to "put up or shut up".

“She’s nasty, but I can be nastier than she ever can be,” Mr. Trump said.

“Hillary Clinton was married to the single greatest abuser of women in the history of politics,” he added about Mr. Clinton. “Hillary was an enabler, and she attacked the women who Bill Clinton mistreated afterward. I think it’s a serious problem for them, and it’s something that I’m considering talking about more in the near future.”
...
Some of Mr. Trump’s advisers have tried to suggest focusing on accusations that Mrs. Clinton tried to discredit women who said they had been harassed by Mr. Clinton. Chief among those suggesting this approach is Roger Stone, the longest-serving Trump adviser, who wrote a book called “The Clintons’ War on Women,” laying out accusations from Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey, who have accused Mr. Clinton of sexual assault — accusations the Clintons or their lawyer David Kendall have denied.

Mr. Trump, however, has struggled to articulate that concept"

If Trump publicises some of the things Bill Clinton did and if the women speak about them, then the public will be disgusted by him.

And people will wonder who knew and who covered up.

OP posts:
Roussette · 01/10/2016 08:38

"According to exhaustive reporting by David A. Fahrenthold of The Washington Post, the Donald J. Trump Foundation never obtained the necessary certification to solicit money from the public during its nearly 30-year existence, an investigation by the state’s attorney general’s office has found.
Despite claims of giving away millions of dollars of his own money, Trump has not donated to his namesake foundation since 2008.

Another Post report earlier this week claimed Trump spent $258,000 from his foundation to settle lawsuits that involved his businesses – an apparent violation of laws against “self-dealing,” which prohibit nonprofit leaders from using charity money to benefit themselves"

Trump is the least charitable billionaire imaginable. Apart from his tax dodging, the reason why he won't release his tax returns is because it will show how little he gifts, despite claims from him otherwise.

As lewji says Claig. You of course know all this. You are just choosing to stick your head in the sand on the more unsavoury parts of the man you support so wholeheartedly.

claig · 01/10/2016 08:42

'You of course know all this.'

Yes. I don't care because I am not surprised by it or lots of other charidees and the political class being "mesmerised" by them and giving public money to them. That is how things work, that is why I want Trump to change things.

Trump played along with the system, did what they do, now he is coming for them and they are running scared.

And there you go. And you blindly go for the candidate that is just as bad, in fact worse, than the rest.

Lweji · 01/10/2016 08:46

Trump played along with the system, did what they do, now he is coming for them and they are running scared.
He's not coming for them. He's not like Paul at Damascus. He's just conning people yet again.

Roussette · 01/10/2016 08:49

You are really irritating me this morning Claig. Despite what I posted above, you still insist on bandying about the word 'charidee'. I'm rather tired of you droning on about 'the political class' too, your arguments and views have more holes in it than a string vest.

There's a lot you don't care about Claig, a lot you turn a blind eye to, a lot you ignore or brush over.

claig · 01/10/2016 08:49

'He's just conning people yet again.'

That is always a possibility. Maybe he will con us, maybe he will "shut up" and fluff his debates and not attack Clinton because he doesn't want to hurt her family's "feelings" and because Ivanka is a friend of Chelsea. Maybe it is all a con. But millions hope it isn't. Boxing promoter Don King and the Stump for Trump Sisters and the tens of thousands who queued in the rain outside for hours to listen to Trump speak in Milwaukee last night hope it is for real and Trump will kick ass and have them scampering for safety as he pursues all the crooks in high places.

OP posts:
LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 01/10/2016 08:52

Idi Amin was a "change agent". I suspect claig would have feted him.

Adnerb95 · 01/10/2016 08:55

Such an easy, lazy mantra - all politicians are corrupt, they are all in it for themselves. Except that, like all generalisations it's a pile of poo.

Guess what? Politicians, the "establishment", whoever - they are made up of a cross-section of humanity. Some are honest as the day is long, selfless, intelligent people. Some are manipulative, corrupt and lazy. Same as the rest of us.

In other words, you cast your vote and take your choice. Maybe the cynicism is rooted in your own self-knowledge claig ?????

claig · 01/10/2016 08:57

I don't support all change agents. 40% of the US voting public support Trump despite the Republican elites who don't like him and people like George H W Bush who will vote fro Hillary instead.

Mark Cuban, the billionaire who initially praised Trump but has now switched to Hillary, said that he predicts that if Trump loses he will go broke within 7 years. But everybody knows that if Trump wins, a lot of people will be going to jail, that is why the entire Establishment is desperate to stop Trump.
