The entire world's movers and shakers, swindlers and fakers, public money piss-takers will be watching in trepidation at what Trump will do to them. The entire world's great and the good, high and the mighty, shifty and flighty will be supporting Hillary. Will you be with the people supporting Trump?

Have you got the ice cream, the chocolate, the biscuits and the matchsticks to keep the eyelids open ready?

As a warm-up, here is Sky News's 30 minute documentary shown last night

"Trump. Could it really happen?"

Anecdotal, but I live in Florida in an area that has one of the largest African American populations in the state and half of my co-workers are black. Not one that I have discussed this election with is voting for Trump.

People sometimes forget that Florida was a slave state and part of the Confederacy. That history still casts a long shadow and candidates who espouse racism don't get very far with the black vote in Florida.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/09/2016 11:35

Perhaps he is trying to distract everyone from Cuba by talking about Alicia?

claig · 30/09/2016 13:05

'He does seem to be having a bit of a melt down today doesn't he?'

No more than usual. If anything he has toned it down.

'Not one that I have discussed this election with is voting for Trump. '

Shy Trumpers? A well-known psephological stratum of the voting population.

Shy Trumpers, almost worth a guffaw

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 30/09/2016 16:52

Ann counter actually wrote something quite telling. Trump supporters do not care about his personal failings - the man will be dead in ten years, he doesn't matter that much. They see it as an existential fight for the USA

Come off it. A very large proportion of Trump supporters have no idea what "existential" means and would probably hit you if you accused them of wanting something existential. What they care about is their perception that Trump will keep all those dreadful brown people out and somehow wave a magic wand that will make them rich and happy. If he ever got in they would be doomed to dreadful disappointment.

Are you really that dense or the script malfunctioned?

Neither, she was just being rude. Though she will no doubt be along to tell us what a funny joke she made there.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 30/09/2016 16:59

He clearly hasn't slept well overnight as he is now being utterly utterly vile about Alicia Machado on twitter

Good grief, this is the man who aspires to be president. How could anyone with less than half a brain think that is going to make him look presidential? If he ever got in, what sort of godawful mess is there going to be when he ignores some major crisis because it's SO much more important to tell someone off on Twitter?

PoisonousSmurf · 30/09/2016 17:08

When is the next debate?

PoisonousSmurf · 30/09/2016 17:10

This is hilarious!

claig · 30/09/2016 17:14

October 9 is the next debate. Different format, more informal I think

Thanks PoisonousSmurf for making me smile

claig · 30/09/2016 17:22

'Town hall' format, probably seated rather than standing behind podiums and half the questions will be asked by members of the audience and the other half by the moderators based on what is popular on social media and possible public voted topics etc

Not sure it'll make much difference. You can't polish a turd. Grin

claig · 30/09/2016 18:33

Rousette, it's not over yet. Granted Trump had a bad week because his advisers messed up, but if the "real Trump" turns up on Oct 9, things can still change.

This has been all over Facebook. Apologies if it appears upthread, I haven't checked:

Roussette · 30/09/2016 18:43

I'm hoping for the 'real Trump' too claig. That'll seal it.

Lweji · 30/09/2016 19:31

On the fat shaming:

Is there any way to look at Trump that isn't ew?

Want2bSupermum · 30/09/2016 20:07

Honestly HC is doing horribly considering the ammunition she has on Trump. She should be trouncing him. Instead she is trying to shore up the woman's vote using a woman who had a child with a drug king and has done a sex video. Also, you enter a beauty pageant you know the deal. If you win you can't expect to get paid out if you gain 40lb in the following year. It will be in the contract.

What HC should be doing is really going after him regarding his stupid comment about taxes. 'Good thing I don't pay taxes because you would just squander it.' That comment tells the electorate everything they need to know about Trump and why they shouldn't vote for him. He doesn't care about our society. If he did he would have answered that question very differently.

Sadly we have two terrible choices and I am still undecided as to who I will vote for. I do not like either candidate and I am looking at fringe candidates to see if any are gaining traction. The media are being unfair by not allowing the fringe candidates to take part in the debates. I would love to hear their thoughts and for them to challenge both HC and DT.

Lweji · 30/09/2016 20:31

At least one of them sounds as unprepared as Trump.

You're right in that Hillary could be going for him properly. I'd have liked to see Obama doing it, but Trump wouldn't have had the guts to go for it.

TheBurningBridge · 30/09/2016 20:35

I guess HC and DT make for good telly ratings. But I think you're spot on about his taxes shows he has no loyalty to the US and only contempt for his fellow wage slave Americans. Neither are great or even good candidates it's a case of voting for the lesser evil I suppose.

claig · 30/09/2016 21:07

' 'Good thing I don't pay taxes because you would just squander it.' '

Want2b, what party do you usually vote for? Because that is pretty standard conservative thinking. What he means is that we are all taxed too much and the Big Government bureaucrats who have never had a real job in their lives waste our tax money. In the UK, they waste it on ring-fenced foreign aid, or government grants to charidees where they are "mesemerised" by the charidee bosses or where all their public school mates and failed politicians are all employed in high-profile highly paid roles, or on lavish expenses and home flipping for themselves, or on white elephants like the Millenium Dome etc or for huge BBC salaries and all the rest of the stuff they waste while people are mistreated in hospitals where some of the elderly died of dehydration etc while the Trust managers were paid £250,000 and whistle blowers were discouraged.

OP posts:
Adnerb95 · 30/09/2016 22:26

Re paying taxes, claig

The vast majority of tax revenue goes on pensions for the elderly, funding the NHS staff and the defence of the realm.

Which of those do you think we should stop doing?

All the rubbish about "charidees" and expenses is neocon mythology. It would take literally months to demolish the poisonous cauldron of misinformation, non-sequiturs and idiocy contained in your latest post. Because it simply is based on lies. Oh, of course, you support a candidate who is a known, proven and proud liar so that makes sense. He wouldn't know the truth if it hit him on his orange, smug, ugly head.
