Petition to Stonewall

New petition launched calling on Stonewall to:

• Acknowledge that there are a range of valid viewpoints around sex, gender and transgender politics

• Acknowledge specifically the conflict that exists between transgenderism and sex-based women’s rights

• Commit to fostering an atmosphere of respectful debate, rather than demonising as transphobic those who wish to discuss or dissent from Stonewall’s current policies

oh look at that list of fabulous people!

i am not gay, so it feels a little odd to be urging stonewall to do anything

but their behaviour is putting my privacy, dignity and safety at risk, so I have signed

Great idea but isn’t it a bit like pleading with lions not to eat gazelles...? Am happy to sign it but aren’t Stonewall behind much of this current mess? Especially as their definition of transphobia is anyone who doesn’t believe transwomen are actually women?

Worth trying I suppose.

I like the wording. It blows out of the water the accusation that "those damn feminists just won't sit down to talk and meet us halfway" - the same rubbish Matthew Wright tried to derail Posie with in the Talk Radio interview. We've been TRYING, but they won't even let us talk about it to each other, let alone try to come up with a compromise!

Excellent petition. I remember a thread not too long ago talking about how to try to talk with Stonewall when they just won’t engage- this is a great approach.

I'll look and sign tomorrow when not on phone. But just wanted to point out for those of us who are not gay, as mothers we have a big stake in how gender and sexuality is viewed, and how safe it is to be gay straight or trans, and how those different groups and men and women get along, for the next generation.

Excellent petition. It says what needs to be said.

Hate to be a party pooper but are you sure this is a real and not a fake one to gather info on gender critical people?

Reason I have that doubt is that the list of founders seems far too neat. A quick look on a couple of those peoples twitter feeds doesn't mention that petition, plus Alison Moyet has only just announced her stance today.

Happy to be told otherwise. Concerned about doxxing is all.
