Thats interesting 4. What were you using them with? At the time I bought them, lots of people were recomending them to me and I thought they looked fab (they were my first pockets).

4andnotout · 20/02/2009 23:08

I have some hemp tri fold inserts which i was topping with a microfibre insert but she always had wet leg leaks Luckily i bought cheaply 2nd hand, but tbh i have heard a lot of people say that they are un reliable.

soon2be: In my large pockets (Fuzzis) and BTP pockets (Wonderoos) I've been using large Junior Joy prefolds. For my little boy I fold down the extra length and have a double layer in the front - and for my daughter, I had the double layer at the back. I think I've had best results with the large prefolds as they're wider.

With regard to inserts touching both sides, I must say...I've had nasty leaks when the microfibre insert got bunched up and was pushed to one side, or too much in the centre. The result is that the urine (esp if expelled at great force! ) misses the absorbant part entirely and ends up running down the child's leg! So although it doesn't have to completely fill the gap, if you get too large of gap on either side, then you can have problems!

4andnotout · 20/02/2009 23:16

I have enough large i need another small really, oh well

TheLadyEvenstar · 20/02/2009 23:25

All Nappies

soon2befamilyof4 · 20/02/2009 23:32

With the bumhugger - do you still need a wrap? And is it a normal shaped nappy? Ie you don't need any booster or anything?

Looking at it, I think I have something similar (again in my stash that is lost in the loft ). But the one i have is very thin? It might be something entirly different though!

soon2befamilyof4 · 20/02/2009 23:35

Oh and 4 - You remember you sent me the nipper nappies and I said I had never used a nipper before? Well I might be being completely thick here but I couldn't work out how to do it! It didn't seem to grip the material at all?

4andnotout · 20/02/2009 23:37

Put the left hand gripper where you want iyt and then pull the right over tight where you want it and then the bottom one down, you need the tension to keep it in place

soon2befamilyof4 · 20/02/2009 23:45

Oh ok. will give it a go tomorrow, off to bed in a bit. I wasn't doin it on a baby as she is still safely inside my tummy!

Has anybody transformed nipper nappies but sewing on some velcro or something? The nappies I had for DD when she was tiny were originally nipper nappies and the lady before me had sewn on some velcro and they were great! All got stuck together in the wash though! Just wondering how hard it was?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/02/2009 08:52

Anyone looking for some wool longies? I got some today but they're too short in the legs for my big boy! They're PuddlePants ones, in a dark/forest green - chunky sort of knit - but could easily suit boy or girl. Excellent, unworn looking condition. Guessing they're prob around a size 12-18m, though have cuffs on the legs, so could probably be worn even earlier. Any interest, let me know and I can measure length/rise etc, and post pics too.

TheLadyEvenstar · 21/02/2009 09:08

Rachel, ohhhhh yes pleaseeeeeeeeeee

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/02/2009 09:35

TLES: Going out for a driving lesson just now lol - but will get pics & measurements to you later!

4andnotout · 21/02/2009 10:03

My new ittis came

They are both wearing matching lilac now

Hopefully · 21/02/2009 10:23

I want my new ittis! Limited funds (Actually having to spend some on a few night nappies to try, some of which I'll recoup when we find the perfect nappy) meant only ordering 2 colours, so went for peppermint and red. Going to get royal blue after payday!

soon2be I've never done it, but don't see why you couldn't. you'd probably want to do it on a machine rather than by hand, and a crappy machine might struggle with the thickness of material, but I'm sure it would be easily doable.

ilove if its the same as mine came in then my local post office does them, much cheaper than jiffy bags and can be reused or recycled same as plastic bags.

Loads of people sell those bags on ebay as BINs.

Rusmum which ones are you interested in?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/02/2009 20:05

ilovemydog: Are the Motherease pants "training pants" or the actual "bedwetter pants" (white outer with thick inner than can be pulled out to make for quicker drying)?
