Lollipop is it possible that if your machine's been on the verge of death, it hasn't been rinsing very well, which might be exacerbating things? Or it might be depositing something from the machine's innards on the nappies? So if she improves with dispos on, it might be something like that.
Second the no-nappy-cream advice. Or could you try something very mild, like Green Baby/Waitrose nappy cream? You can get them both in Waitrose.

Littlelamb you could either do the full on soaking overnight in vinegar/water, then wash and keep rinsing till no bubbles, or just do a wash in the new powder and rinse several times.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 19/02/2009 19:49

Hopefully That's a really good point! Lollipop's washing machine may not have been rinsing...

Jenbob CAT me and I'll give you details. Is it 'contact poster?'

AnnVan · 19/02/2009 19:51

mumoftoby · 19/02/2009 21:14

Does anyone know if I would be able to dye wonderoos? I was thinking with chocolate brown dylon? (I realise the inside would remain white)

4andnotout · 19/02/2009 21:17

Im not sure if the waterproof backing would affect the process.

mumoftoby · 19/02/2009 21:21

Thanks 4 and I don't want to stop them from being waterproof just to make them a nicer colour! So not sure whether to risk it or not. Are you stil on strike?

jenbob · 19/02/2009 21:31

4andnotout · 19/02/2009 21:35

Jenbob for a boy or girl? I have some wraps for sale here

lollipopmother · 19/02/2009 21:53

Swampster Oh GOD! I remember our conversation from before about creams now, using Metanium was a DISASTER, DDs bum now in tatters, massive red risen lumps, bright red all over. Shit, that happened before when I put a load of Metanium on, I am such a pillock at times . DP says I'm to throw it in the bin and I agree with him, nasty horrible stuff .

TBH my test with a dispo couldn't have gone more wrong, I've wrecked DDs bum and she did a poo that went straight up her back and onto her clothes. . I had it done tight at the waist, there really was no need for it to cause me more washing when I don't have a washing machine, bastard dispos! I've only ever had one leak in four months with cloth and that was from a Pop-In that I hadn't done up properly. Even the dreaded Bumhuggers only went onto the wrap.

Oh PISS! I can't believe I forgot to put a wrap over the dispo, Jesus Christ, what's wrong with me today! Well this week really, I walked to Water Babies yesterday even though it wasn't on.

Jen thank you, payment received. Have emailed you on the email address on paypal...

lollipop Poor little lollipop! We sometimes have to use hydrocortisone cream as a last resort. In really small quantities, it shouldn't be a problem. DD (like me!) can get allergic reactions, and used cotton and water to clean her.

Sainsbury's is having a half price sale on baby stuff including Lansinoh. Good thing as DS is getting teeth and I'm sooo sore

Hopefully · 19/02/2009 22:36

Poor you Lollipop! At least you can be reassured that dispos are not the way forward.

Hmm... DS seems to be getting wetter and wetter at night! Hope some of the preloved mahoosive night nappies I'm borrowing/have ordered come soon, as he's beginning to get a bit of a red bottom from being so wet. Not sore or anything, but I really don't want to get into changing him at night, as he wakes up totally and won't settle for aaaaaages.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 19/02/2009 22:48

hi all, just a quick hello, just busy in RL, will resume usual business soon

lollipopmother · 19/02/2009 22:56

Yes indeed ILMD poor Lollipoppet .

I do feel really rather guilty, what with her Grandad calling her 'brat' and me causing her bum to come out in welts, and all this time she is such a darling, she melts my heart. . Sometimes I do wonder how me and DP created something so perfect, but I assume everyone gets that feeling?!

OP posts:
4andnotout · 19/02/2009 22:59

Lolipop her grandad call her brat Is he being nasty or affectionate? My dad calls dd2 "Toad" or "Toadie" as a term of endearment
Did you get my pp ok earlier, i couldn't do it last night as i had ishoo's with dp

lollipopmother · 19/02/2009 23:07

4andnotout - Oh he's being a wanker affectionate I think, well he doesn't say it with a rude tone but he knows that I hate it as I've told him and he carried on. I've told mum tonight that he is not to use that word ever again to describe her otherwise we shall have a falling out.

Just checked and yes, got the Paypal, I have dried the pink nappy today but it was in the wash when the machine broke so you MUST wash it as soon as you receive it as I don't know how far into the cycle it got, there's still a bit of a stain on the insert but I should think that'll come out if it's washed properly!

Now with all my nappies, sling and bag added up I have sold £489.25 since just after Xmas

OP posts:
lollipopmother · 19/02/2009 23:09

Oh, and I had some shooos with DP last night too but it was right at the death so he didn't feel my full wrath. I did call him a condescending twat though, and I meant it! I call him a wanker all the time but there's love there, last night however I meant every word. Shame we were already in bed really! As soon as he made even a hint of a snore though I booted him into the spare!

Her grandfather called little adorable Lollipop a brat? She's what, 5 months old?
