Why do single mothers always make fathers day about them?

Why do single mothers always make fathers day about them??

You don't see single fathers jumping up and down shouting "happy mothers day to all the single fathers fulfilling both roles"

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bafta16 · 08/06/2026 15:51

What is the single mother has 4 kids by 4 fathers? No issue with apostrophes I suppose.

What the fuck are you talking about?

OrangeMochaFrappuccino · 08/06/2026 15:53

Most of them don’t make it about them but some do have to answer their children’s questions as to why their father doesn’t want to see them.

I watched an old first dates last night and the older male dater was being praised for raising his children when their mother left. Women don’t receive that sort of praise and there’s a lot more men that walk away from their responsibilities than women do.

What would your wife think about this thread @NEGUY82? Would she be proud of what you’ve written?

She'd agree with me, with laughed at it together several times.

And yet on international women's day all you hear is men saying "When is it men's day"...

Every single year! Asking why women make it a special day and asking why men cannot be arsed to even know when their day is!

Stepsisterfromhell · 08/06/2026 15:53

Single mum here. Going to visit my dad and take him to lunch on Father's Day, while my teenage kids take their dad out for a pint. Social media is not real life. Get a grip.

Thanks, for various health reasons we couldn't have kids - it's too late now we're both into our 40s - thanks for that though.

It's not too late in your 40s to have kids.

I mean lots of single mothers are in their 40s (and the subsequent dead beat dads hanging about somewhere must also be in their 40s). HTH

This joker needs blocking, right.

tinygingermum · 08/06/2026 15:55

I am a single mother and I don’t make Father’s Day about me, in fact I don’t know any that do, and the same with singles fathers when it’s Mother’s Day, never seen it.

Ladies! Stop being so stupid, the man isn't insulting us. It's just a laugh!

Meanwhile, he's not posted one iota of evidence to support any of his amusing claims on this thread .

Yeah, women are notoriously proud of men who actively seek out female spaces to mock and insult other women.

In the real world we think this is pretty pathetic and see the misogyny lurking behind your posts.

Yeah that's lame too, men don't need one - I was surprised to learn there actually is one.

It's fathers day in just under two weeks - I shall return with proof - I'm going to scroll through a year of social media.

I have seen the posts. I always took it as a dig at the dead beat father who does nothing or very little for their children.

As for the single mums on benefits. Why is she on them... oh yeah because the dead beat father isn't paying for the roof over his child's head. And all the other things children need.

I mean, the use of the word ‘simping’ is giving off major incel vibes so you’re probably right.

I have kidney disease and have been hit really hard by it, it wouldn't be a good idea.

I’ve never seen any lone parent mums make Father’s Day all about them . Not even once.
I myself have been alone parent for 20 years as of next month.

Of course you are sweetheart

PercyPigsAreOverRated · 08/06/2026 16:00

I know a couple of single mums who do this. A couple out of I dont know how many.
I also know a couple of single dads who do it on Mother's day. That's 100% of the single dads that I know.

Personally, as a single mum, Father's day is nothing to do with me. I'm not a father, and even though I'm doing all the parenting, im not doing the "job" of a Father. What does that even mean?

MickyMoonshine · 08/06/2026 16:02

NEGUY82 · 08/06/2026 15:59

They’re asking you to support the sweeping statement you’ve made. You can’t so that’s end of that really.

I don’t think anyone is going to hanging around for two weeks to see your ‘proof’.
