Funny things your toddler has said

I thought it would be fun to share those little gems here.
Mine recently rubbed my pregnant belly and said, "Baby!" Then, without missing a beat touched my boob and exclaimed, "Booby!" 😵‍💫
And: while I was using the toilet came over to me, patted my leg and said, "Good job!" 👏

Got any to share? 😊

My favourite from DDs toddlerhood was "Easy Peasy, Squeezy Lemons"

TheWayTheLightFalls · 25/11/2023 21:53

My two year old announced the other day that her sister wears a school unicorn.

Her twin bypasses us altogether and just shouts music requests to the smart speaker. Often outside will randomly say “Hey Siri!” when he wants something.

Mine is obsessed with learning all the animal sounds, and I answer with honesty instead of cutesy noises, and you don't usually think about it but most animals make really horrid sounds, for example deer grunting/bellowing and bird squawking. Well I wasn't prepared for all the times we've been in public lol. Yesterday we were sitting in a quiet coffeeshop and she sees a bird out the window and literally screams out the worst bird squawking noise ever. My teenager and I just melted in embarrassment 🫠

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/11/2023 00:27

My toddler very sternly told me to ' sit down on the naughty step' because I stood on his toy and broke it 🤣🤣

He also has a puppet that he's proudly named Kev!! (We do not know any kevs)

CoalCraft · 27/11/2023 09:35

Yesterday DD was looking in her toy chest and picked something up saying "I want to play with this toy." Off she toddled.

A moment later she toddled back to put it back, saying "I don't want to play with this toy." She looked me dead in the eye, "I lied."

Dipsydoodlenoodle · 28/11/2023 23:06

Similar to a few above...my toddler proudly can say clock (without the L) - we just keep repeating it with the L

Shes also a bossy boots telling everyone to "sit down".

When we were in the vets a few weeks ago she kept saying "miaow" to ALL the cats.

My neighbour, nearly 4 at the time asked me when I was pregnant "when you have a shower, does the baby get sweating as well" - he'd literally been told 2 minutes earlier so was really quick with his question.

3yo: You're cute!
Me: No, you're cute!
3yo: Okay, you're fat then.

My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter announcing she was going up the oranges and bananas this morning.

Not my toddler but I was at soft play with my little one and a little boy said hello to me and I said hello back, then he said "I'm just going for a poo and I'll be back"
I didn't see him again though...hope he's okay 😂

WhamBamThankU · 28/11/2023 23:42

Bent over naked turning the bath taps off, toddler said "mummy! You have long boobs!" 😩

hazandduck · 28/11/2023 23:50

My three year old is just a walking box of hilarious but equally mortifying lines. She said loudly in the changing room at swimming last week “Mummy look at your big hairy bum! I like your boobies though!” Then poked said boobies and said “Boobie!” 😅

And two nights ago in the bath…after we’d watched Home Alone. She was playing with her toys I’d kind of zoned out until I heard her say “Look what you did you little jerk!” In a very gruff voice 😂😂

She says “Oh My Jesus,” “Good Grief!” and “Cheese and Crackers!” quite often too!

My DD1 wasn't much of a talker. However she made her words count.

Like learning the word "shark" on a visit to the aquarium with her cousin... and pointing randomly behind her cousin and shouting it as cousin was scared of sharks.

This morning, DC wanted 2 biscuits at breakfast time (that's ok, they're reasonably healthy as homemade and with baked fruit in the middle). This was great until the first one was eaten. Then a protest took place because, once the first one had been eaten, there was only one biscuit on the plate and DC had been very clear that there should be 2.

Scirocco · 03/12/2023 19:27

DC wanted to draw my attention to a cat in a shop (real cat, happily sitting in a shop window): "Look, Kitty! KITTY!!!"

Unfortunately, when DC gets excited, their 'k's come out as 't's.

My 2 year old has speech delay so doesn't say much...

Imagine our shock when I ask if she likes her food and she shouts 'YEAH BABY!' in the style of Austin Powers 😂

I have no idea where she picked that up from!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/12/2023 17:42

Was bf'ing my newborn who had just finished. I hadn't covered up yet as was waiting for signs baby was truly done. Toddler comes over and says, "Put it back" and points to my exposed breast. 😭
