Is this a ridiculous name?

We have twin girls due in a few weeks time and are stumped on a name for baby B.
Our name for baby A is Quinn and the names of our other kids are Arabella, Felix and Hugo.
For baby B we've been deciding between Audrey, Eloise and Pippa.

However, the point of this question is to ask, do you think Pippilotta or Pippalotta is a ridiculous name? If we use Pippa, we'd like it to be as a nickname, but aren't fans of the traditional Philippa. So, would Pippilotta or Pippalotta work, or alternatively Ophelia or Josephine with Pippa as a nickname?

Please don't hesitate to share your feedback. I don't want to give my child a ridiculous name and fear that pregnancy hormones have clouded my judgement!

I love your names, both for your children and ideas for twins!
Audrey is beautiful. It’s timeless and classic.
I hadn’t heard of Quinn for a girl but it is lovely.

Congratulations on your twins op!

I think you have misunderstood my post @23PissOffAvenueWF.

By all means call the babies Quinn and Audrey @twinmama2021, but please call the fifth one Quinn, not the fourth!

I haven’t misunderstood anything @SixyTixts.

I understand that Quinn relates to five (I mean, obviously).

I am simply saying that you weren’t the first to suggest it on this (long) thread, and the OP had said way back that she wasn’t going to be doing that, so why not just leave it at that?

You pushing it (and then pushing it again), has forced her to say why she wants to call her 4th born baby Quinn, and her 5th born Audrey.

Hopefully you’re happy with the reason the OP has now given, and can move on.

CandyLeBonBon · 19/03/2021 17:48

@SleepingStandingUp it is! I love it. It's just that I can only say the name Audrey with that breathy voice she does!!! Grin

I think Coronation Street and Harley Quinn.

Doesn’t matter though if Op is moving to the States where people “get” these as name choices.
The only bit I disagree with is where the Op says the only thing that matters is that she loves them. I think some consideration to your children’s feeling is important. My husband has a dated female sounding middle name and it’s pretty off putting actually.

Arabella, Felix, Hugo, Quinn (for girls) and Audrey are all top 100 names and have been for the last 10 years, so in the US, they're very common. Why on earth you'd insinuate that my children would be unhappy with their names is beyond me. In fact, the likelihood of them being the only one in their school with their name is slim. Especially in Manhattan or Greenwich, CT, where we spend most of our time and where they will go to school.

Ooh nice bit of middle class posturing there! Ivy League all the way! Yay!!!

Thewinterofdiscontent · 19/03/2021 18:27

Er? I don’t think you’re children will be unhappy with their names because you are moving to the States.
I just think you are wrong to say only your (as parents) feelings are important. I think as parents it’s important to consider what the name might mean to the child. Which is clearly why you asked about a daft made up name.

I think what I meant by my initial comment about it being important that we love the name was exactly that; we have picked names that we love. Not names that strangers on the internet love. We obviously have not gone for a Pippa variant, so I think you're simply being childish and trying to provoke a response. If you aren't here to answer the question that this thread was created to answer, you aren't needed here. Thanks for your feedback, but seeing as we've already named our children, it isn't needed. Thanks.

Nope, simply intended to let them know that in the state we will be living in, their names are popular. So they need not worry about our kids 'feelings' about their names. They'll be fine. Thanks!

Don’t get stroppy with me !
Why are you still here although you answered your own question within a few pages?
(And any response was pointless because you’re moving to the States so British opinions on your name choice meant jack).

What a weird, unpleasant and inaccurate statement.
SleepingStandingUp · 19/03/2021 20:43

My husband has a dated female sounding middle name and it’s pretty off putting actually.
Shall we make love tonight darling Winter??
Well I would but all I can think about is your middle name, Margaret.

Will you marry me my sweet sweet Winter?
Well I want to say yes, but what about in church when they say Humphrey Edna Smith??

How is a middle name off-putting??

Vetyveriohohoh · 19/03/2021 20:52

Pippilotta is one of the funniest suggestions I’ve seen on here for a while OP

I like just Pippa

Or...
Harriet
Elena
Elinor
Claudia
Flora
Mathilda
Odette

SleepingStandingUp · 19/03/2021 20:54

Isn't Kate Middletons sister Philipa Charlotte? I reckon her Mom was channelling pipi longstocking

CorianderBee · 19/03/2021 20:59

God imagine being Pippalotta and your sister has a lovely, cool name like Quinn.

I'd feel like I landed the ugly name. Sounds like a strange cartoon character!

lovemelongtime · 19/03/2021 21:06

Beyond me why people think the names all have to match. If you like Pippa, call her Pippa, no need for the name drama. Surely you are making a problem where there isn't one? It's a lovely name.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/03/2021 21:11

Update: Op is naming her twins Quinn and Audrey.

HerRoyalNotness · 19/03/2021 21:15

I’d do Aubree Instead of Audrey. It sounds a bit more modern and is used as a girl’s name in the US

CorianderBee · 19/03/2021 21:16

@TeckanandMultra

That's mad.

Quinn looks like Quim, and Pippa means blowjob in Greek. Not the best!

What on earth does quim mean?
CandyLeBonBon · 19/03/2021 21:37

Quim is slang for vulva/vagina

CandyLeBonBon · 19/03/2021 21:38

I know! How about Balonz??

CandyLeBonBon · 19/03/2021 21:42

Well that's a subjective viewpoint @ZZTopGuitarSolo. I think the whole thread is slightly bizarre tbh. But you do you

RootyT00t · 19/03/2021 21:55

Quinn.

Also where?

Quinn is a very popular name.

Oh I'm dying to know.
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/03/2021 21:59

The dated DH name could be Lesley, Lyn, Hillary?

OP I know you've decided, but I wanted to throw in that I know twins Quinn and Darcey.. I think they go nicely. Best of luck!
