Is this a ridiculous name?

We have twin girls due in a few weeks time and are stumped on a name for baby B.
Our name for baby A is Quinn and the names of our other kids are Arabella, Felix and Hugo.
For baby B we've been deciding between Audrey, Eloise and Pippa.

However, the point of this question is to ask, do you think Pippilotta or Pippalotta is a ridiculous name? If we use Pippa, we'd like it to be as a nickname, but aren't fans of the traditional Philippa. So, would Pippilotta or Pippalotta work, or alternatively Ophelia or Josephine with Pippa as a nickname?

Please don't hesitate to share your feedback. I don't want to give my child a ridiculous name and fear that pregnancy hormones have clouded my judgement!

Just use Pippa it's perfectly acceptable as a stand alone name. I don't see it as an alternative for your other names and giving your child a made up name does seem a bit silly.

PurBal · 18/03/2021 18:21

I like Audrey. I think it goes nicely with Quinn.

twinmama2021 · 18/03/2021 18:22

@Bmidreams

Of course it is! And Quinn is too much like quim. This is always stated on mn.
Quinn is non-negotiable but thank you for the feedback! (It's both of our Grandmothers names and my mother's middle name).

I know 2 Quinn's and never thought anything of it, I've always thought it was a cool name.

Wouldn't hesitate to use it!

Changethetoner · 18/03/2021 18:22

Pippa is pretty, Audrey not so much. And yes, your pregnancy hormones are letting you down - do not use Pippalotta or any other made up name.

imsoinmyhead · 18/03/2021 18:24

Grin it's ludicrous!

Sorry, but you did ask. Did you make that up?!

RJnomore1 · 18/03/2021 18:24

Quinn and Audrey is lovely.

Pippalotta sounds like your hormones talking.

Don't be sorry! I asked for honestly so am glad to be getting it. Haven't taken any offence at all :)

I believe it is the full name of Pippi from PippiLongstocking.

Pippa or Audrey go best with the rest I think... If you like Pippa go with that... It doesn't need to be a nickname

FAQs · 18/03/2021 18:26

Oh lord no, you can’t. The only Pippas I know have sisters Henrietta (Henri or Etta) and a Cordelia.

imsoinmyhead · 18/03/2021 18:27

I was about to say, why don't you go the whole hog and name her PippiLongstocking Grin

Quinn is lovely though

FollowingFlitwick · 18/03/2021 18:27

I do feel the op may be writing in jest...

EvilOnion · 18/03/2021 18:27

Eloise is my favourite.

Arabella, Felix, Hugo, Quinn and:
Eleanor
Cassie
Elodie
Leonora
Christie
Jessica
Daniella

Toilenstripes · 18/03/2021 18:28

Phillipa?

SleepingStandingUp · 18/03/2021 18:28

If our twins had been girls we were having Arabella or Ariella and Lilyana nn Lily.

Pippalotta is awful sorry,

Ophelia is gorgeous

elliemara · 18/03/2021 18:28

How about Lotta? Or Ella?

I don't think Audrey, Eloise or Pippa are as nice as, or go well with Quinn and your other children's names.

DingoWings · 18/03/2021 18:29

Your pregnancy hormones have clouded your judgement!

Pippa on its own is enough.

twinmama2021 · 18/03/2021 18:30

Ok, safe to say we've just scratched Pippilotta off the list (thank goodness I posted here!).

I think we've also eliminated Eloise.

So, Audrey or Ophelia nn Pippa?

Also, other suggestions are more than welcome. We're looking for something classic, almost old fashioned.

I think Audrey!!! But I'm not a fan of pippa at all..

TeckanandMultra · 18/03/2021 18:31

That's mad.

Quinn looks like Quim, and Pippa means blowjob in Greek. Not the best!

Haha, I'm sure I'll look back on this thread in a years time and think "what was I thinking? Almost named my daughter after PippiLongstocking!"

Penelope ñn Penny?
Persephone?

golddustwomen · 18/03/2021 18:32

Quinn and Audrey. Audrey and Quinn. I love it!

Good thing we live in England and not Greece :)

I think Eloise goes best with your other children, and with Quinn. All beautiful names.
