Is this a ridiculous name?

We have twin girls due in a few weeks time and are stumped on a name for baby B.
Our name for baby A is Quinn and the names of our other kids are Arabella, Felix and Hugo.
For baby B we've been deciding between Audrey, Eloise and Pippa.

However, the point of this question is to ask, do you think Pippilotta or Pippalotta is a ridiculous name? If we use Pippa, we'd like it to be as a nickname, but aren't fans of the traditional Philippa. So, would Pippilotta or Pippalotta work, or alternatively Ophelia or Josephine with Pippa as a nickname?

Please don't hesitate to share your feedback. I don't want to give my child a ridiculous name and fear that pregnancy hormones have clouded my judgement!

Pippa is lovely. Pippalotta and the other one you mentioned are hilariously bad! I told my husband and he nearly choked on his tea.

timeisnotaline · 19/03/2021 00:24

You’ve practically named my dc so I’m going to go with Audrey Grin
Off to read the rest.

Fraternal twins are also labelled twin a/b or twin 1/2. Twins are a gift, tough going at first! but special. I know a little girl Quinn and think it's lovely. Quinn Catherine goes very nicely. Is there an Irish family ancestry connection at all? Quinn is generally a surname here so I wonder if it evolved over time. Elinor popped into my head. Elinor + Quinn. Best of luck with the imminent arrivals.

SixyTixts · 19/03/2021 00:53

Surely Baby B should be Quinn....

Marty13 · 19/03/2021 00:54

Yep OP gotta agree that you've had a lot of patience with all the people commenting on basically everything but what you asked.

I'm not going to comment on your names since you've made up your name, just wanted to say I think Quinn sounds very badass and cool ! (I'm not British so maybe that's why, but I wouldn't have made the link with a rude word. My first thought was Harley Quinn actually haha !) And Audrey is very nice too (though I'll admit to a slight preference for Aubrey because it's more unusual in my country and because I love unisex names !)

Quinn and Audrey flow well together. Well done on having decided with weeks to spare, with DS2 I had to request a new certificate from the hospital as I changed the middle name (twice !)

rainywindow · 19/03/2021 00:56

I’d choose Eloise, then all their initials are different

SixyTixts · 19/03/2021 00:57

@RJnomore1

Quinn and Audrey is lovely.

Pippalotta sounds like your hormones talking.

It’s upsetting me that no one else has recognised that @twinmama2021 is giving the name Quinn to the fourth baby born instead of the fifth. Please reconsider 😬

It’s already been mentioned. The OP wants to call the first twin Quinn, and given it’s her baby....

percheron67 · 19/03/2021 01:31

Pippilotta?? Sounds like a tin of chopped tomatoes!!

PerveenMistry · 19/03/2021 01:42

They are absurd. Give her some dignity with Phillipa.

These are humans, not goldfish.

Lmao, yes.

PerveenMistry · 19/03/2021 01:44

In the US, "quinn" is rather a trailer trash name; what you might call naff.

CattyCactus · 19/03/2021 01:57

I’m always amazed that people don’t make more use of the amazing ‘see all Ops posts’ function.
It would save so much time and effort.
Op - you’ve been remarkably good humoured (and patient) in the face of some, frankly, tiresome comments.
Congrats on your twins and your name choices!

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 19/03/2021 02:21

On the phone app I don't thinks you can see all OP's posts ( well i have never figured how )

1forAll74 · 19/03/2021 02:24

Pippalotta is a rather silly name it sounds like an Italian dessert . QUINN is usually a male name.

Yes, there’s certainly been a lot of trashy-ness on this thread. Not from the OP.
groovergirl · 19/03/2021 02:36

I'll go against the tides here and say I love Pippilotta -- but that's because I'm a lifelong fan of Pippi Longstocking, whose full name was Pippilotta, as confected by her author Astrid Lindgren!

There's a fantastic Swiss artist, Pipilotti Rist, who was named after Pippi Longstocking. She likes her name because no one ever forgets it, or her work.

If you still really like it after 18 pages of MN debate, you could go with Ophelia Charlotte, Pippilotta or Pippa for short.

groovergirl · 19/03/2021 02:38

Argh, should have read OP's final post! Audrey -- good choice.

MsDogLady · 19/03/2021 06:35

I love Quinn and Audrey! I’ve been acquainted with several Quinns (female) through the years here in the US. As for Audrey, that pretty name was on our short list for our daughter.

Quinn Catherine is beautiful. Have you chosen Audrey’s middle name?

joystir59 · 19/03/2021 06:37

Just call her Phillipa

interest12 · 19/03/2021 06:47

I chuckled tbh

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 19/03/2021 06:56
Grin
YRGAM · 19/03/2021 07:04

Peppilotta (although hyphenated) is a valid name in Finland. Not exactly common but not unheard of. So you'll be alright if you go there

GreenClock · 19/03/2021 07:21

Audrey is lovely. Classy.

Pippa works as a standalone name now I think, so don’t rule it out if you love it. See how’s you feel when she is born.
