Fish.

She says shish, sounds like she's about to bang on about kebabs!

Easywriter · 01/08/2007 01:33

They also had chickenpops you'll be pleased to know!

Easywriter · 01/08/2007 01:36

The best I heard wasn't from my own child but froma friends.

Their family pets are cats named Tiffany and Bianca.
Their DD couldn't say Bianca, came out (as clearly as if ths was what she intended to say say) Wanker.

Oooh! Muchos, muchos giggles from adults.
Lucky she's so gorgeous she gets away with it!

DS used to say:

ElephLant
Snawich
Camwa
Carry You (when asking to be carried)

DD was talking about a baby rhicenorous the other day.

The best one was my friend's little girl who couldn't say "Blackcurrant" ... it came out as "Slackcurrant" which sounded to me like "Slackc*nt" which always made me giggle and then usually had me with tears running down my face when my friend looked at me stonily when her little girl said it ...

jaynehater · 01/08/2007 07:42

dsd used to call shrimp schnurps, and pickled onions prickled numyuns. And it stuck

dd2 doesn't mispronounce, she lisps, but she enunciates like Wallace and Gromit. Bizarre.

NoBiggy · 01/08/2007 08:10

Arrived at nephew's one day, he pointed to the car and said "look, it's a bollock"

Cue adults looking puzzled and uneasy. "A what?"

"A bollock"

"Where?"

"There. It's a bollock." pointing to the indicator on our car.

No idea why!

hattiejacques · 01/08/2007 08:25

My 3 yr old ds sings the theme tune from bits and bobs but can't say tr. Hence he sings "I really like it when I'm f**king along!"

throckenholt · 01/08/2007 08:33

my 4 year olds call cold liver oil capsules "dog pills" - somehow they got the idea they were cough pills and then morphed the word a bit further !

CKMUM · 02/08/2007 16:05

the pushchair is bugger, sandwich is champagne

RedtartanLass · 02/08/2007 16:11

When ds1 was wee, he used to say "Nee Naw" for "Night night see you in the morning"

We still say it now and he's 22!

XcupcakemummyX · 02/08/2007 16:25

willy wonker
did not sound good came out from ds as
willy wanker
slip of tongue but not good

MrLSG · 02/08/2007 16:34

Ds1 & friend, talking about Doctor Who:

Friend: I am a Cyberman
Ds1: I am a Garlik

diplodocus · 02/08/2007 16:50

Not quite a pronounciation thing, but when a friend moved to Moscow recently her niece went round telling everyone her auntie lived in Tesco's!

Fimbo · 02/08/2007 16:57

We live near a place called Wymondham (Windam) which ds calls Window.

Dd used to call hot air balloons - airloons

dazedandconfunded · 02/08/2007 19:42

DS (for armpits) - 'crumpets'.

Carmenere · 02/08/2007 19:44

She says I have a flat tummy instead of a fat tummy

corblimeycharlie · 02/08/2007 19:53

Did you train her to say that Carmenere? Good plan if you did.

NoBiggy · 03/08/2007 00:23

DD once, wanted crumpets for tea but was struggling for the word, eventually settled on CROMBONE.

zaphod · 03/08/2007 00:33

Instead of Buffalo flavoured Hunky Dorys, he wants the Gruffalo ones.

zaphod · 03/08/2007 00:34

And ds1 used to love corn on the nob.

AlistairSim · 03/08/2007 00:39

Wankey = monkey.

welliemum · 03/08/2007 01:53

We're a multicultural family and have both Marmite (for the adults) and Vegemite (for the children) in the fridge. Hence dd1's favourite spread, Vegemarmite.

It rolls of the tongue so nicely I can't bring myself to put her right.

popsycal · 03/08/2007 06:14

ds1 used to do some brilliant mispronunciations. ds2 does not do so many.

However, my current fave of ds1 (who is 5 TODAY1!!!!!) is:

that bloody yu-gi-oh cartoon theme song. If I hear him singing
'Gay man. Gay man. Got a gay man!' one more time, I think I will scream!!!!'

DirtyGertiefromnumber30 · 03/08/2007 06:53

my 4 year old says ' die-jeff-did'

for Digestive (biscuit)

'musing. actually i buy them just so he can ask for one!

BandofMothers · 03/08/2007 07:09

A boy I knew years ago pronounced Truck, "Fruck" and it sounded so rude

His dad thought it was hilarious.
