My ds also used to say "lompster" for lobster. And octopus was Oppamuh.

For some strange reason both nappy and monkey were referred to as "raddy", and crayons were "orrins".

mouseman · 23/07/2007 22:21

amongst others, we had from dd:
papernant - pavement
restafont - restaurant
gressbuss - breakfast
These are the ones we all still use!!

rarrie · 23/07/2007 22:33

My DD1 couldn't say Crumble Cracker (From fimbles...) it used to come out fangle ...f*ker! Used to get a few funny looks

We still have 'restronk' for restaurant.
And 'breemember' instead of remember.
And my favourite - 'wallace' instead of wallet.

lou33 · 23/07/2007 22:38

dd1 still says valinna , for vanilla

when we drove by little chefs en route somewhere, ds1 used to ask to go into the shepherds pie place

he also told me he had sall-mon at school instead of salmon

ds2 used to call his best friend "phew" instead of hugh

and boobs were boolums for some reason, for all the kids

i remember dd1 seeing a woman with a huge pair, and her yelling omg look at her boolums, run away!

lou33 · 23/07/2007 22:39

i still dont know how that came about

JackieNo · 23/07/2007 22:49

DS says mawnlower (lawnmower), and even that people are lowing the mawns. And 'snaggling box' for 'shredder' (I think he was getting confused with 'recycling box', but it describes a shredder perfectly). DD recently had an 'insect day' at school (inset day).

WendyWeber · 23/07/2007 22:51

I really wonder, with things like "insect day", what on earth they imagine is going to happen when they get there

JackieNo · 23/07/2007 22:55

Probably a lot more interesting things than are actually happening.

Spidermama · 23/07/2007 22:57

We also have 'insect' days which I fully encourage.

My two year old says 'Are you bumming mummy?' when he wants to know if I'm ^coming.
I love it when he says, 'I MUNT NILK.' His brother used to say, 'Ugga shide'.

MonkeyBear · 23/07/2007 22:57

ds1 was given a "wilberdon" (Wimbldon) T-shirt recently, as well as a toy "matakaran" (catamaran).

Today, ds2 sang me a lovely song about "Mary, Mary, Garden Fairy"...

Tommy · 23/07/2007 22:58

DS2 has just got a pair of trailers and some trailer socks to go with them...

MoosMa · 23/07/2007 22:58

She has one completely made up word which I think originated from chocolate raisins and means any-food-which-isn't-a-meal:

Oridaaaaaaaa

It can be said at vaious speeds and with the different vowels sounds lengthened/shortened depending on how awake she is. As she's waking up in the afternoon we get

Ori..... ori..... orida..... oriiiida...... oriiiidaaaaaaaaaaaa......... ORIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! peese.

my ds1 calls his dad's computer a "contemputer" and says his little brother "gets on his nervous"

Bainmarie · 23/07/2007 23:05

dd says 'psghettie' instead of spaghetti which is not as entertaining (or embaressing) as ds who says 'bollocks' instead of blocks
