I am a single parent, two DC's at home, 2 at uni themselves.

Going into 2nd year and starting to panic about how I'm going to juggle everything Smile

Anyone else?

That's a long day metal, I'd have to have reinforced glasses for my eyebags!

I couldn't go in as DD2 poorly so made a good first impressionBlush
Been very good though and doing lots of reading and research mumsnetting

MetalSian · 27/09/2011 11:39

It always happens like that though miss, I'm sure they will understand.
My teacher specifically said it happens alot at the start of term and not to worry.

And yeah very long day, worse for DS with his first proper day in nursery from 8.30am to 5.45pm. He was crying his eyes out when I got there because he was so tired and got worked up. But he slept on the train home, hopefully he will get used to it. Only one day a week though so it might take a while.

My research and reading needs to be concentrated in more though xD.

Two days in and I'm shattered

I am shattered but my usual shatteredness as DD been ill. Haven't been in yet this week.

Did your friend turn up, who you thought had left?
Sounds like you are in a lot too, I'm only in Monday's, Thurs and Fri so not too bad.

fluffystabby · 28/09/2011 10:35

Nope he didn't turn up but apparently he's appealing the decision so we'll see

Am in Monday, Tues and Thurs so not that bad but OMFG they are piling on the work this year

How is DD today?

missmogwi · 28/09/2011 10:51

She was lots better today so she's gone in.

Now tackling the handout mountain the tutor emailed me.

The work load this year is a killer here too, been offered an Xmas job but might be too much.

MrsPlesWearsAFez · 28/09/2011 20:14

Yay for your student finance payment finally arriving Stabby.

Hope your dd is better Miss. My dd also has asthma, and it has meant that I've had a lot of time off.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get the studentship Swallowed, is there anywhere else you could try?

I am trying to enjoy my last few days of freedom before the utter madness of term begins.

fluffystabby · 28/09/2011 20:21

I am knee deep in printing out stuff

I will be solely responsible for the destruction of the rainforest Wink

Good luck everyone! Smile

MetalSian · 29/09/2011 09:24

I just managed to get my printer working too.
Printing out loads of things one of my teachers sent me.
Glad it is value paper xD.

And student finance have atlast sent me the form to fill out again!

fluffystabby · 29/09/2011 10:26

I just discovered a fast draft setting on my printer. DOH

missmogwi · 01/10/2011 12:35

AngryArrrgh had a bad week. Haven't even been in as suddenly came down with a terrible sore throat and temp. Just eaten today since wednesday, although won't do the diet any harm!

Feel bad about missing a week but luckily I'm not too far behind with the reading etc.

DD's at their dads tomorrow so will have to get my geek on. If you see me on here shout at me.

fluffystabby · 01/10/2011 17:18

Will do Grin

I braved shopping with DDs today so they have been told to shuttup and gimme peace tomorrow I have so much reading to do Sad

fluffystabby · 04/10/2011 18:45

Is anyone else absolutely shattered and has a house that's a tip and can't get off MN and do some fecking work?

missmogwi · 04/10/2011 19:08

Yep, I've got loads of things to do, read and remember and I just can't seem to get on with it! MN is too addictive!

Read the start of the same book about five times today.

fluffystabby · 04/10/2011 19:10

I am trying to do Jurisprudence and it's difficult to start with, and I'm tired. I think I might just do some other stuff like MN tonight and do the Jurisprudence in the morning when I'm a bit fresher.

fluffystabby · 04/10/2011 19:12

AND the wee girl from next door has been told. New rules. You don't come in until DD1 and DD2 have BOTH done their homeworks. And while they are doing their homework, I'm trying to read. So far, she has WALKED IN WITHOUT KNOCKING and I've had to stop, get up and go chase her out the damn door, 5 fucking times.

And she keeps saying "But I only" "no you can't come in you've been told" "but I just" "no you have to go they will call for you" "but" "no"

by which time, of course, I've totally lost my train of thought

missmogwi · 04/10/2011 20:03

Oh that would make me a bit stabby myself. Would wind me right up.

Walking in without knocking five times? I'd be snarling at her.

fluffystabby · 04/10/2011 20:06

She's in now.

They're playing SIMS she's addicted to it and dominates my two totally to get it on which really gets on my tits

I've told her she has to go at 8pm a million times. and as you can see she totally and utterly does what she's told

Just went into the kitchen to kick her out and was told in a minute we're not finished.

Am about to lose the plot so had to walk away but am going in again in 2 minutes and she goes home or never comes back in again

I have now officially given up until the kids go to bed because I can't get peace to concentrate.

missmogwi · 04/10/2011 22:08

That girl sounds like a nightmare, I'd keep my door locked electrified Have you posted about her before? Sounds familiar!

That's all you need everynight isn't it.

Going to try and do some reading in bed, although this just knocks me out.

MrsPlesWearsAFez · 04/10/2011 23:05

I'd keep the door locked if I were you fluffy

I am having a full-on Student Finance 'mare Angry

Payment was due yesterday. Still waiting.

This years payments have been recalculated (and are £3600 short) because of an admin error. They will be calling me by 4pm on Monday to let me know when they can reinstate these payments. Still waiting.

My bank account is empty.

My timetable has just changed at the last minute messing up my childcare arrangements.
My dissertation supervisor is now going to be on sabbatical this year meaning I have to find a different topic/someone else.

Somehow despite all of the above, I am still mildly enthusiastic about starting lectures on Thursday. I've even been having a quick look at deadlines for Masters' applications.

Am off to fall asleep whilst pretending to do some reading :)

MrsPlesWearsAFez · 04/10/2011 23:06

Missed your post missmogwi

Electrifying the door is a far better suggestion Wink

fluffystabby · 05/10/2011 07:57

OMG MrsP that's a nightmare of epic proportions. Hope you get it sorted today.

Yes, have posted about her before she is a humungous great big PITA - 5 times I turned her yesterday before she came in and then when it was time to go home she wouldn't bloody go and of course I have my two crying because I am playing hardball. GRRRRRRRR.

And yes I did lock the door after the first time when she just walked in but then she rings the bell.

Today I am getting the kids to school, back here, coffee, then hitting the books all day.

missmogwi · 05/10/2011 18:52

Hope you got some good new re financemrs p?

How did the reading go stabby, put in some a bit good work today myself. Then looked at the list of deadlines and had a wobble. Gah, the pressure!

Hope you manage to keep your 'guest' out tonight!

fluffystabby · 05/10/2011 18:55

Grin The door is locked. But so far she has rung the bell 3 times.

I am trying to do the jurisprudence and I am struggling with the speluncean explorers Sad

missmogwi · 05/10/2011 19:05

I saw an episode of the X files once where the baddie kind of poured himself through an air vent to get in... Keep your eyes peeled Grin

Whatever that is your reading sounds exceptionally complicated, I thought The Age of Revolution was bad enough.
I was very good and deleted the Mumsnet app so I wasn't tempted swot

Tho it's back on now. I'm not daft.
