Hi, so does anyone actually think my kids may be cute/beautiful enough to do modelling?

I have researched LOADS about the agencies, was intrigued by the KK thought's, I contacted Mothercare who gave me a full list and KK was not one of them and they had not heard of them!

Melody - have u applied to any agencies?

My son was with BG but to be honest didnt get much but we're just in the process of checking out new agents and going to see AK soon

Where abouts are you based as Urban Angels are recruiting for " Urban Angels North " might be worth if you havent looking at their website

I have applied to some yes, not sure which one is BG??
I have had response's back from ES, EB, KK ,Rascals so far ( I only did it yesterday)

I am in Milton Keynes so not too far from either Birmingham or London, but I know some of top Londond agencies may well just say no because I am slightly over an hour from central London :0( We shall see I guess!!

I have applied to BG too (remembered which one it was now) :0)

Hi Melodydasiy your kids are lovley and I'm sure they would get snapped up.
Who have you applied to? The top 3? Bruce and brown, kids london and urban angels? Some london agencys don't mind being outside london if they are children not babies

melodyd.. your kids look gorgeous and i'd advise u to defintely take the time to see which agencies come back to you with yays and take it from there.. do remember that all the different companies use various agencies so you wont get all reputable companies on one company's list. Also, a lot of castings take place in central london so you need to be able to get there and often at short notice

PS. I do hope we established that KK are a reputable agency.. I dont think I could go through it all again !!!!!!

I just wish they would say whether it's because none of them are good enough, or it's the distance etc, etc.

Have had a yes from ES,KK and Rascals so far, but I know that ES get alot more work for babies and they are charging extortionate fees!!
I have just taken a few snaps of my daughter Melody now as the other's were slightly older, take a look!

I am just a bit scared of having my money taken off me with a new agency, especially when there are soo many scams out there as it doesn't seem to be an industry that's regulated too well!

Brooke77, It's frustrating that they may poss. not get a yes from some just because I am slightly out area wise, but I am at home all day as do not work, I drive too and it would be very easy for me to go at very short notice!

My dd did model for a while as a small baby and one day I was sat having a pub lunch with a friend when receiving a call(at 3.30pm)!! asking if I could get down to Islington for a casting by 5.30pm for Boots! I left my friend, got petrol in the car and was there by 5pm!!!!!!!!!!! And you know what? My dd was actually picked for the job and she was then later picked for the FRONT and BACK cover of the Boots Catalogue and THEN was on the Boots Gift Card too!! pmsl.

So, I am very good with getting them somewhere and it was good that I did!!

if you feel that is the reason an agency gives you a no, you should advise them it wouldnt be a problem for you to get to castings... milton keynes isnt too far from london, i've done the journey enought times in the car and i know is pretty easy to get into town. as long as your kiddies schools will be ok if u need to take them out early should be fine.. just let the agency know that

oh and we've been to several jobs close to milton keynes and they were all through a london agency !

I'd second what others have said and I know someone with bb who's child is with bb and they live further than that so I doubt it's distance with them anyhow, so don't worry on that. Generally may have kids with similar looks.
Castings at short notice are all part of the business.

Melodydaisy, if you read past threads most agencies have been discussed really recently

I guess I should have done that, have already applied now, would look a bit silly now sending them a message about it!!

I have applied to all the reputable one's as I looked through all the posts of them on here first too. Will be soo difficult to make a decision, especially when paying money is involved!

Rascals have said yes to all 3, do they generally say yes to everybody??

we were turned down twice originally for bb and third time i did speak to the owner on the phone and advised commuting time for us and we were invited for assement etc. since being with them we havent turned down many castings and reasons havent been due to travel time. one i turned down a couple months ago due to it was a swimming role for active kids campaign - not my ds forte! another was for junior yet they wanted a dancer for the shoot- again not really best for my ds! i do think applying your kiddies to various agencies and see what you feel is the best move for you, dont rush into the first agent that accepts you! Hopefully I will hear from the other's soon and then it's decision time!!

UA aren't opening their London book's until Sept/Oct so that rule's them out and I haven't applied to KL yet as they required you to send the pics in, I have just been too lazy to do it

melodydaisy, I think few agencies require you to be within 1 hr of central london, norrie carr for example, but most are o.k if your not.

Would be nice to see everyone else's kids and what are the best job's they did? my ds1 +ds2 haven't done any yet.

DD's was Boots-Front and Back Cover and on gift cards.

melodydaisy - i would try ua north - i presume somewhere like leicester would be your nearest area yet you can also put on the email the distance to commute to London too and that will so flexibility for northern and more southern castings (possibly?)
also some of the shoots have been in milton keynes. we had argos checked availabilitys for mk yet those didnt confirm.
def for us the best thing was him getting accepted by bb. although not hundreds of jobs yet some nice ones when we get them.
post to kl they normally reply within a week. or you can try mot?

I did try!! They said that with where I live I'd have to apply to the London office's yet where I live I am no further away from Birmingham than I am London angry

You'd think it would be better situation to be in as able to get to both easily enough wouldn't you?grin
