Hello

Thought I'd better do a new one cos 'chat' threads go after 90 days

hello,,
well were back from stratford upon avon. the weather held off for most of the week but on the last day it rained but we were heading for the thinktank in birmingham anyway, so we were still all dry.

two nights in a row i was about to get on the net while sitting in bed at the hotel and the bloody firealarms went off!!! so i gave up in the end. the first night it was 10.30pm and both ds's were ready and in bed when they went off. we were next to the fire exit so i made ds1 put his trainers on and we ran out, he cried and cried though as i made him leave his teddies, (he wanted to stay and pack his toys up!! we went in one the fire men turned up and checked it all out. ( we all got a stern telling off as someone had messed abround and smashed the button) then the NEXT NIGHT we were in our pjs and tucked up when it went off again. this time ds1 got up and ran out of the room before i could get him, we had to yell at him through the door to wait for us, so we scooped up ds2 and got outside, thius time i remembered the car keys and we sat in the car while we waited for the firmen. it was all clear again, and it seemed that the people staying in the room had slammed their door and the glass fell out setting the alarm out again!!!

this really scared ds1 and he wanted to either go hime or sleep in the car. we persuaded him to stay the rest of the night though!!

worleyhurley · 30/07/2007 22:38

did i say ds2 walked on my birthday!! AND he just got his first tooth, no bitten nipps as yet though, luckily.

JennsterBubsLayer · 30/07/2007 22:48

Yay. Eventful holiday Worley......How do you cope with 2 children at once?

I had my first morning on my own ...until 11 when my mum turned up with my Aunty and 3 young cousins (8 10 and 12) and took dd away for the day. Phew. Wanted to go out with them but my midwife was due so had to wait for her.

My boobs are humungous. A couple of little Galia melons. DS is a little star and sleeps really well (touch wood) but it worries me he isn't feeding frequently enough to maintain my supply....Not that I have any worries right now.

StormInADcup · 31/07/2007 14:44

dont worry Jenn...he'll start the 11 day growth spurt and your boobies will have to work double time to keep up! at least I remember something like that happening?!!

dd having another odd day today, bonjela having little to no effect on her bloody teeth. threw some calpol down her and took her out in the buggy, she's asleep now. She really needs it poor little sausage!

what a fire-alarm nightmare W!!

MD I think your dd has a career with the circus!!

JennsterBubsLayer · 01/08/2007 12:41

Hmmm, we are definitely feeding more frequently now. Boobs don't feel so full all the time and ds not bringing so much back up.

Am contemplating getting train to Manchester (rather than driving) to go to Genetic Screening appt in 4 weeks. Just tried out the sling and think I could manage getting on and off buses up Oxford Road. DH wants me to have the car, but can't face driving and finding parking, although I used to live just by there and know the side streets will be dead easy to park on, esp in holidays. Actually it's not the parking it's finding my way in the car to the hospital.

StormInADcup · 02/08/2007 16:07

why genetic screening?

I went to the surestart centre which is just down the road and Ive always been too chicken to go...its FAB. loads of ace groups to join and they gave me a really useful giftbag, with home safety kit in it! wish Id gone sooner, serves me right for being a scaredy cat.

You guys on facebook? I am utterly loving it.
I vote we move from here to there.....

StormInADcup · 02/08/2007 16:08

I never go into Manchester city...too scared (think Im starting a theme here )

Macdog · 02/08/2007 17:21

Howdy all.
Been busy enjoying the weather, so not been on here much.

Surestart sounds good, we don't get it up here.
I've heard of Facebook, but not been to investigate yet.

How's the feeding settling down now, Jenn? I'm finding it hard to remember when I started bf, I was so overwhelmed by everything.

Not much of a relaxing holiday, Worley. What a nightmare!

Have found a rocking horse on interweb and ordered it for dd's Christmas. I always wanted one when I was little and never got one. I'm reliving my childhood through her now, poor soul !

I'll catch up with you all soon

StormInADcup · 02/08/2007 22:08

I always wanted a rockinghorse too!
facebook is a social networking site where you can play games and do faster email
we could all play scrabble, for example

Macdog · 03/08/2007 12:40

I'm bad enough finding time to MN

This is the Rocking horse I've ordered. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it arrives soon .

I got dd a ride-on fifi and the flowertots thing from Matalan, £7 in the sale. Ill keep it for xmas, how organised!
Ive got loads of gifts for my sister and my best friend for when they have their babies, I hope my BF has a girl so we have that in common...

StormInADcup · 03/08/2007 15:23

loads of toys, clothes, socks, bibs and chocolates for them, and hairslides for my sis,too

JennsterBubsLayer · 03/08/2007 19:09

Went to Matalan for the 1st time ever a few weeks ago and thought it was great. Problem is I don't have a car of my own right now and nearest is miles away.

Feedig not yet settling down. Neither is sleeping. He seems unable to fall asleep on his own yet. You forget these things need to be learned. DS was 8lb 3 when born and 8 10 yest so must be doing something right!

Macdog · 03/08/2007 19:19

That's a good weight gain, Jenn.
It'll probably settle down soon enough for you both.
We don't have a Matalan handy here either.

Off shoe shopping for dd tomorrow, she's now a 4G. Tried last week but the ones I wanted were out of stock and they had nothing in her size at all. Hopefully trying a different shoe shop will prove lucky. Failing that I'll ask them to order them in.

have good weekend y'all

OP posts:
StormInADcup · 04/08/2007 15:13

md your bub goes through shoes like Imelda Marcoooos!

StormInADcup · 04/08/2007 15:13

worley???

Macdog · 05/08/2007 19:21

Got her feet measured in a different shop, she's a 3½G. Have had to order shoes, will have them at end of week.
Am sticking to navy shoes, they are so much easier to polish the scuff marks from .
Just you wait till yours is running around full time, then you'll see why they go through shoes so quickly

Worley, don't work too hard.
Jenn, hope everything is going well.

Catch up with you all soon

I'm fine if being a vomit repository is your thing. Lovely day here finally.... Terrible night last night. DS doesn't know his day from his night yet the div.

Macdog · 05/08/2007 19:29

He'll work it out soon enough
Glad the nice weather has finally arrived for you, been peeing it down here all day.

Can we call this the bitten nipps thread again? They are being chewed off.

StormInADcup · 06/08/2007 19:11

dd being a total pain tonight, I can hear her wailing next door and she normally goes off to sleep immediately...

havent seen dh for AGES he's working 2 jobs at the moment...he will come in about 11pm again tonight...at least Im not being pressured for sex, Ive totally gone off it again

Macdog · 06/08/2007 19:46

That's the one thing I don't miss, Jenn. Hope they get better soon

dd got temp today.
Thimk she's got a sore throat as well as teeth issues.
