Hello

Thought I'd better do a new one cos 'chat' threads go after 90 days

Hello folks. Life with 2? Flippin heck, no idea how I'm going to cope when DH goes back to work. Typing one handed and spelling mistakes galore. DD just wants to hug and poke ds OMG that's the first time I've typed that.
She needs to be watched like a hawk.

Birth story of sorts here

House not too messy at all. DIY plastic sheeting over matress and under sheet we weren't too bothered about.

Technically this labour was shorter, but it just progressed much slower and felt longer and worse.
3rd stage was 15 mins compared to 80 mins.

Breast feeding well. Wouldn't say easier....if baby won't open mouth, then there is nout you can do! I had forgotten how long you sit feeding for!

What's going on with the weather? Scotland sounds like the place to be right now!

JennsterBubsLayer · 24/07/2007 22:22

That message took 2 hours to write!

MadEyeMacdog · 25/07/2007 11:46

Proud of you Jenn

Scotland is having the fabbiest weather this summer. It's yet another glorious day here.
dd been loving getting out and about on her trike.

I hope that none of you are too badly affected by what's going on

JennsterBubsLayer · 25/07/2007 17:36

We're fine here in Preston thanks Macdog. Just my veggies suffering. Isn't it a bit flat your way Worley? Fenn country? I'm not very good at geography.

VeronicaCorningstone · 25/07/2007 19:12

the poor peeps of gloucester now have no drinking water, apparently..

well done Jenn I think you are amazing

scotland does sound like the place to be...hmm Im not going up to see mum till september, probably it'll be snowing up there by then

JennsterBubsLayer · 25/07/2007 19:13

And went to Uni in Manchester VC. I love Manchester, but constantly had black snot and damp clothes. Was just after bomb, and it's unbelievable the difference before and after

StormInADcup · 25/07/2007 19:15

cant.stop.name.changing!!!

JennsterBubsLayer · 25/07/2007 19:19

Am getting remeasured tomorrow. maybe bigger than a DD I've been wearing for 18 months.

StormInADcup · 26/07/2007 14:42

I am back to 32DD now thank god. Thrown all my nursing hammocks to Birmingham for my sister to borrow!!!
I am proud(ish) everytime I put bub in her carseat and she pulls my top down so everyone in the carpark can see my normal bra!!

JennsterBubsLayer · 26/07/2007 17:25

Waited in all day for mw and by the time she arrived it was too late to go out. Tomorrow.....I used to be 34B so anything is better than that.

DS only lost 120g in 4 days and so mw VERY pleased with that, although he is very very slightly jaundiced. She's not worried about it though. Not seeing her now until Monday.

MadEyeMacdog · 26/07/2007 18:15

Another busy day for us.
Went with some of the mum's from M&T to a playday on the Isle of Cumbrae.
Fabby day out. Weather held apart from a wee misty shower, sun out the rest of the day.
Took picnics and the kids ran about like loons for hours.
Think we'll sleep tonight

MadEyeMacdog · 26/07/2007 18:16

Before anyone has a rant I know there shouldn't be an apostrophe in mums, 'twas a mistake

JennsterBubsLayer · 26/07/2007 20:03

Just googled Isle of Cumbrae. Looks lovely. Next year maybe we could do something like that! Am walking a bit too gingerly to go far.

StormInADcup · 27/07/2007 18:50

Jenn, did you choose JA or AJ in the end for ds?

dd was very slightly jaundiced when she was born too, we had to lie her in the sunlight to improve it, but noone was worried.

Jenn I think you are amazing to be going out etc, but I suppose I dont have a normal birth story to compare to you! I wasnt allowed out for 10 days as no iron in my blood/traumatised! Youre not anaemic at all, then I guess?

StormInADcup · 27/07/2007 18:52

mdog you have such lovely daytrips!

Worley...dont work too hard...

as for me I am coming to the end of my week off...Ive had a stinking cold the whole bloody time.

JennsterBubsLayer · 27/07/2007 18:53

Have gone down a cup size and up a band size! That's like going down two sizes. I am a fat heifer. On the brighter side I am not wearing maternity jeans. My post-natal Dorothy Perkins size up (so really 2 sizes up) jeans are fitting me, if a little tight.

JennsterBubsLayer · 27/07/2007 18:56

Joseph Anthony. Stuff 'em! Lost 250ml during delivery according to notes so don't think I'm anaemic. Homebirth is definitely beneficial to mum. No noisey ward, own germs, own environment.

Macdog · 27/07/2007 20:24

Jenn.
You. Look. Fabulous!

I am the ultimate fat heifer on this thread, and if you disagree I'll come and sit on you

As for awaydays, I am incredibly lucky that I live where I do. Our local council has had playdays on every day of the holidays all around the area. I've managed to get to a lot of them. It also helps that we live where we do, so handy for so many places.

Just to make you really , we are (hopefully) going to the CHAPS (coloured horse society) Area show on Sunday. It's being held just down the road.

Hope you all have good weekends too

Ok I am a sad git.
Went to Ayr today and ended up buying dd the Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka cuddly toys.
She adores the IgglePiggle and has been cuddling him all day

OP posts:
JennsterBubsLayer · 28/07/2007 18:47

Am I missing something with Icklepikle or what ever it's called. Can't be bothered to scroll up as one handed typing. DD has soft toys and they mean nothing to her.

Macdog · 28/07/2007 18:50

It's one of the characters from In the Night Garden.
He is very cute.

JennsterBubsLayer · 28/07/2007 18:58

Aahh. Not into kids TV yet. Trying to hold off as long as possible. Heard of FiFi though and she must watch Bobthebuilder at nursery because she can sing it and point him out.

Macdog · 28/07/2007 20:10

I'm a bad Mummy !

She has a new trick as of tonight.
She can climb into her buggy (obviously no car seat any more) by standing on the step and climbing in over the bar at the front . There is no stopping this girl !!

OP posts:
StormInADcup · 30/07/2007 15:05

helloo

my dd is into Neighbours and Doctors for that post-luch lazy hour, before up and out somewhere for the afternoon!

I still have a lingering cough and feel rough but I managed a full day at work yesterday so Ill be fine.
More worrying is dd who has had 2 days of afternoon-time temperatures rising to 39.2 (my book says to see doc. urgently if it gets to 40.0, but she recovers by bedtime and is eating fine, and no signs of cough/cold/wheezing/rash etc.
We reckon its teething and fighting off this cold bug we've both had, and when she starts getting hot just strip her off and sit her on a soft towel on the sofa. She goes all floppy which is alarming...Ive deferred her MMR for the time being, dont want to risk it as shes under the weather.

Macdog · 30/07/2007 17:42

Worrying when their temp spikes like that, isn't it.
I agree that it sounds like teeth/bug. Hope you are all feeling better soon.

We've been given my niece's old trampoline for the garden, so dd is currently working on a routine where she slides down the chute, onto the trampoline and finishes with a somersault into the birdbath - TAH DAH!!

She is taking Igglepiggle everywhere at the moment. She even babbles away to him in her car seat. Money well spent, so far

Worley and Jenn, I hope you are both well and I'll catch you all soon
