Hello

Thought I'd better do a new one cos 'chat' threads go after 90 days

OP posts:
Jennster · 21/01/2008 23:18

I don't know about sitting. DD is a pita at the moment about this. she isn't eating hardly anything. If she isn't sitting with her bib on, then I get her off her booster seat and ignore her while we carry on eating. She soon gets cross and sits down.

It was the TUNISIAN (not morroccan) lamb meatball with the stew from Feast aswell Worley. Will copy it up if you don't. Too late now. Been for a swim and am knackered. Have a sore back. Off to bed night night all.

worley · 22/01/2008 14:41

i have feast, will have to go have a butchers now i think..

YouEatedMyCookie · 22/01/2008 16:10

W was thinking about your escape artist. What about a walking harness & reins. Would that be suitable? Most come with straps to fit onto D-rings (if you have them on high chair). Just that harnesses fasten at the back.
Just a thought

JoanWilder · 22/01/2008 21:07

like the new name MD!

mmmmm cookies...
Just had a massive (ie 4 sausages) fry up with dh. Our oven REEKS, needs a thorough clean, dismantling and cleaning really, but too busy and the smell would make me ill.

Only throwing up once a day now, very bearable and I can eat a lot more, really miss coffee and cereal makes me feel weird, its the milk I think. Also miss white bread as am having to eat reams and reams of brown toast.

dh got an interview in the midlands on friday! but he is not hopeful as it is quite a high powered engineering job, but at least its a chance. We could be home before we know it! Off to house hunt,,,in a village called Wombourne by Wolverhampton. Heavenly.

Sorry for your sad news W. What an awful new year this is becoming. I pray it can only get better for you X

Hi Jenn, your carrot cake has my mouth watering!

worley · 22/01/2008 21:47

im not sure if i have d rings will go check in a bit. its a an annoying highchair i brought it new for ds1 and it was really expensive about £120 9 years ago!! its a mamas and papas one, anyway, it wasnt till i had used it a few times that i realised the straps dont come off and its a pain in the a**e to clean them. so on sunny days i take it outside and hose it down and scrub them. Why do you realise these things afterwards(its ok i just realsied they are bolted to the seat so no d rings)

worley · 22/01/2008 21:48

ihave somne reins in the car maybe i will bring them in tomorrow and try it. this eve i pulled the reins together at the back with some of my hair bands so he cant slip them down his shoulders.

worley · 22/01/2008 21:52

Jennster · 22/01/2008 22:07

worley · 22/01/2008 22:08

oh!!
will be trying that next week then i think!!
thankyou

Jennster · 22/01/2008 22:14

Bought the rose harissa in Sainsburys in the posh food section where they sell squid ink pasta, wasabi paste, sushi rice, truffles in oil, you know that sort of stuff. It's made by Belazu or something like that and has a cardboard sleeve over it.

Jennster · 22/01/2008 22:17

Oh and I used polenta rather than semolina because I didn't have any. Think they are pretty much interchangable. Did the same when I made some pizzas the other day.

worley · 23/01/2008 21:00

i couldnt find any semolina in tesco today, whats polenta?

worley · 23/01/2008 21:35

sad news about heath ledger.. havnt seen brokeback mountin yet (dp wont watch it so havnt got round to it myself) but was looking forward to batman. (we are all superheroe fans... 3 boys to keep up with too)

JoanWilder · 23/01/2008 21:54

yeah dh told me about Heath Ledger, not seen the news myself. He was only 28 apparently. Been researching Bridgnorth, Perton and Albrighton as possible areas to move to, until found out Albrighton was flooded big time in summer 2006 - no thanks!!!

Jennster · 23/01/2008 22:25

Polenta is cornmeal. You can find it in the expensive section by Merchant's Gourmet, or it's really cheap in the ethnic food section as Cornmeal, but you probably need to get the fine stuff. In fact you might find the semolina there.

semolina

cornmeal

Heath Ledger was married to Michelle somebody or other. The one who was in Dawson's Creek and one of the wives in Brokeback Mountain. They recently had a child.

Jennster · 23/01/2008 23:00

JW a thread for you here and I'm afraid I've not read it so if you are already on it sorry!]]

YouEatedMyCookie · 24/01/2008 09:32

Heath was engaged to Michelle Williams until last year and they had a 2yo dd story here. So sad for the dd who has lost a loving father

worley · 24/01/2008 22:10

made the tunisian stew and meatballs for tea. i loved it as did ds2. ds1 looked at the couscous and refused to even try it so he went to bed hungry, cause if hes not even going to try it, how does he know its "disgusting" so hes not having anyhting else instead. still waiting for dp to get home for his tea.
jenn did you halve the mixture, i didnt ao im now going to freeze it for another nights tea.

Jennster · 24/01/2008 22:33

I didn't because I thought it didn't look to much....until I actually made it in the biggest pan I have. Made 2 nights on the trot. DD loves couscous, but if she doesn't like what we are having for dinner, then she too goes to bed hungry.

Tonight we had the vegetarian shepherds pie with no meat (Delia). It was lovely although i used different veg. I also didn't soak any of the beans or anything because I experimented with my pressure cooker.

I HEART my pressure cooker.

Have you tried the butterbean and barley soup in Feast? I loved it and dh didn't. Very tasty and healthy.

Jennster · 24/01/2008 22:38

I know we eat too much meat, but think the meatballs were just right for half the stew. Didn't have any couscous either so used bulghar wheat. Used the other half of the stew with chorizo and brown rice.

Jennster · 24/01/2008 22:42

I'm going to have the thai chicken noodle soup again tomorrow night as dh out. Looking forward to a bottle of white wine...

YouEatedMyCookie · 25/01/2008 08:42

Had Haggis neeps and tatties last night. So unhealthy, but sooooooooo goooood !!!!!

Jennster · 25/01/2008 10:01

Mmmmm lovely. Saw them all being advertised in Booths on Wednesday and kind of guessed it was coming up for Burn's Night?

JoanWilder · 25/01/2008 13:15
