It's been a lovely day here in devon... (but chilly wind). dc both at home today (it's half term). gave away lots of baby stuff to a pg friend this morning (including pram) and then another friend came for lunch with her two dc, the children played together, etc etc etc.
However, ds has been doing my head in today, because he was restless and incredibly noisy (not to mention that he talks ALL THE TIME). It's going to be a looong half term

PippiLangstrump · 28/05/2007 20:09

a friend of mine has a DS of almost 4 and she complains of the same: he never ever stops talking and asking questions.

Rosa5 · 28/05/2007 20:14

Sunny when woke up. dh took Dd out for a walk and came home as it started to rain. Mummy went to get bread and milk as dh forgot ( when it wasn't raining). Mummy got soaked. We should have gone to a party this afternoon but the heavens opened and it thundered ...so that was that !
Pippi the shopping trip sounds soooo familiar !!
Pistachio your dd will be fine on the flight just make sure that she has a bottle or dummy to suck on when going down to land. and Have fun back in Italia .. I will be in the Uk at the end of June and I can't wait !

PippiLangstrump · 28/05/2007 20:33

we'll be in italy at the end of june - we all seem to be swapping places.

yes for the flight I'll bring some toys, some that DC has not seen for a while, crayons, books, snacks and bottle. mind you DD usually does not want any on them but you know... just to be on the safe side. they always want what you do not have anyway.

francagoestohollywood · 28/05/2007 21:17

rosa, are you all right in Venice? I read there's some sort of emergenza (too much rain) in friuli venezia giulia...

francagoestohollywood · 28/05/2007 21:17

we'll be in England in June, come on rosa, come and say hello!

PippiLangstrump · 28/05/2007 21:21

is there? I better call my dad. he lives in friuli.

francagoestohollywood · 28/05/2007 21:29

I think I read it somewhere... but checked again on la repubblica now and there's nothing... apart from forza italia winning some local elections

PippiLangstrump · 28/05/2007 22:33

pippi imagined pippi's dad floating on a raft eating polenta e uccelletti

Rosa5 · 29/05/2007 08:13

There was some freak flooding as it came down so heavy it was bouncing off the pavements. Also as the earth was so dry it diddn't have time to sink in so it sort of flooded a bit. I haven't heard of any disastri on the news this morning. It was as you say Franca all elezioni Prodi doesn't seem to have done to well.
Well Franca we will be in the next contea to you from 27/06 so we could try and manage a meet up . I can't wait to take dd to Dairyland or Crealy as it was called ..lots of animals !! Well today is cooler and might rain again this afternoon ..yipeeeee!

mediterraneo · 29/05/2007 13:45

Here in London it has rained in dribs and drabs all morning. I think I have a chill now.

francagoestohollywood · 29/05/2007 15:02

How's the packing going?

PippiLangstrump · 29/05/2007 15:09

not too bad, apparently we will be completing on the 31st so need to finish it quickly! and because I am not well DH will have to do it all! I am so glad though. It is a bit scary as you don't really know how you'll find the new place (hidden disasters etc) but who cares, I just want to gewt out now and go on holiday!

what's up with you? work to the house finished?

francagoestohollywood · 29/05/2007 15:26

Yes, the wall's finished. Still feel the anestesia from the dentist and I think I chewed part of my inner lip without realizing... ouch!

mediterraneo · 29/05/2007 20:38

We are going on Mon to Barcelona & then Naples. San Sebastian is meant to be beautifu, and I love Basque food.
Franca are you thining of visiting London?
Pippi do you already know people in Barnet? Which bit of Barnet are you moving to? So exciting to move to a new house. Good luck!

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 29/05/2007 20:46

Sounds great. How many weeks will you be gone?
I've been thinking about going to London for 2 or 3 days on my own (we have friends who can ospitarmi) for quite a while. Ideally September, when thi translation willl be (hopefully) finished. But if I come we have to meet up

mediterraneo · 29/05/2007 21:04

It would be so strange meeting somebody from the net. Maybe you are Franco rather than a Franca. You might think I am weird, or too hairy, or wear very strange clothes.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 29/05/2007 21:16

che peccato pero'! We could have recognized each other by a copy of Bevilacqua... (and btw, I don't think anyone can be hairier than me... and no, Im not a man)

mediterraneo · 29/05/2007 21:37

Actually i have been on a meet up - had a different name at the time. It was a bit embarrassing, this woman and I had nothing to say to each other, her ds kept whinging and mine snored very loudly and made noises as if he was going to be sick, nothing in common except we both lived in south london at the time. If you are hairier than me, I may want to meet you then, just to laugh at you.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 29/05/2007 21:46

Lol at your son snoring!
Accidentally today I waxed my polpacci (in between ricrescite) and ds told me: why are you doing this. don't do it, I like your hair... bless him. I wonder for how long he'll be so innocent...
I met some local mntters and I really like them

mediterraneo · 29/05/2007 21:52

I never waxed, it just seems so complicated, i just shave. lol at your ds. I believe there are some men who fancy hairy women, never met one though.

I am around in September. will be back from Italy at the end of June and then we are staying put for a while.

More rain tomorrow, have a sore throat, cough and head ache, and don't know what to read. Maybe Vanity Fair? What are you reading?
