Crochet for Candy.

I know that Candy (Zombie) touched so many lives and is being supported and remembered so beautifully as she takes her next journey.

Woolly Hugs are making blankets in her memory that will be passed onto women who are going through treatment for cancer.

If anyone would like to learn to crochet or would like to offer to help others to learn then please feel free to use this thread and offer your skills.

Love in every stitch and new friendships made.

I'm in Birmingham.

Brilliant idea MrsC

Would love some help to learn to crochet a square or two for Candy's Hugs. Have tried YouTube but my granny squares look distinctly drunken.

Am in North Hants and can offer Gin

Ruhrpott · 31/01/2017 22:10

I'm in South Wales too and would love to learn to crochet. I can already knit.

True Polter!

HemanOrSheRa · 31/01/2017 22:37

Oh! I'm in Bristol and would love to learn how to crochet. I can knit very slowly but I'm struggling with crochet. I can only do it by following the Bella Coco tutorial step by step.

2017BetterKickAss · 31/01/2017 22:46

Sadly, bastard cancer took my BF and crochet teacher 5 months ago. How I wish I had paid more attention to her hands as she constantly made blankets - but how I love to cuddle up under the ones she made for me and imagine she is with me.

I shall try to remember what she taught me. If it doesn't work I shall knit. I shall become a knitting fiend in honor of her and The Zombie and all of the other fierce women who need me to.

Wish I lived near some of you to make the last order message reality, but am bereft here in deepest darkest Trumpland.

I've been making a few squares for Candy's legacy the past few days. Just found this thread. Am relatively competent with a hook now and, well, I am able to knit.

I'm happy to help anyone who can get to Hertfordshire. I'm left handed, but can wield a hook well enough with the right. Can also help with yarn and a hook for the total novice.

Couple of shout outs from South Wales, if anyone is near Cardiff and wants crochet info pm me?

abbsisspartacus · 01/02/2017 00:42

I'm in Kidderminster I would like to learn to crochet anyone nearby?

Ruhrpott · 01/02/2017 09:44

Me I'm near Cardiff

It looks like there are a fair few of us that might be able to make a cribbs causeway meet up. I've never spotted the soft play but but as long as there somewhere to buy tea and cake that's a great idea.

I'll get on to potential dates this evening and I'm sure we can find something suitable.

heman we were all like that once-it's like learning a dance. At first you have to think through all the steps but once you've got it it'll become fluid and natural.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 01/02/2017 11:48

Looking at the cribbs website I think that the soft play is in a food area outside of the actual mall. I think I saw a Nandos near by.

MrsEvadneCake · 01/02/2017 16:44

Abbsisspartacus I'm happy to come to Kidderminster.

Lucysdiamonds · 01/02/2017 16:55

I'm in Newport and would love to learn to crochet if anyone fancies meeting. I could get a train into Cardiff Central if there are others who'd like to meet.

JammyTodger · 01/02/2017 17:14

Morning :) Brew

QueenOfThorns · 02/02/2017 07:48

Good morning! I'm in Manchester and tried to teach myself to crochet last year, but kept going wrong at the same place and gave up. If anyone local could show me how, I'd be very grateful!

I'm in South Ayrshire but have never crocheted in my life!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/02/2017 11:13

@PrancerForHoney and @MintToBe - I'm near Paisley - is that too far for you? Maybe we could meet up half way. I'm not a great crochet expert, but I know the basics and can teach a granny square.

PicardsCombOver · 02/02/2017 11:24

waves to all the Welshies. Rhondda Valleys here. I could help someone to learn sc, dc, tc, fpdc, bpdc and the Suzette stitch but am just a humble beginner myself. It's lovely seeing people reach out to each other for such a good cause. Viva la Zombie Star
