I know that Candy (Zombie) touched so many lives and is being supported and remembered so beautifully as she takes her next journey.

Woolly Hugs are making blankets in her memory that will be passed onto women who are going through treatment for cancer.

If anyone would like to learn to crochet or would like to offer to help others to learn then please feel free to use this thread and offer your skills.

Love in every stitch and new friendships made.

I'm in Birmingham.

Fabulous idea...

I am in East Kent, and do both knitting and crochet - very happy to meet up with learners for Brew , Cake and woolly help!

FairNotFair · 30/01/2017 11:12

Thank you, TheWoollybacksWife - I'll do that!

PurpleDaisies · 30/01/2017 11:25

I'm in the Bristol/North Somerset area but happy to travel a bit. I'm happy to teach crochet to anyone that wants help getting started. It would make a nice change from maths and science tutoring. Smile

Love this idea, I'm on holiday this week so going to get myself a hook and some wool. May end up in one bit knot as I've never even held a crochet hook before:) I'm going to have a good look at Youtube and keep an eye out on here for anyone near me.

Marcipex · 30/01/2017 11:48

I'm on western Dartmoor.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 30/01/2017 11:48

PurpleDaisies I could drive down to Bristol to meet up if you don't mind. I have lots of wool and a 4mm crochet hook but no ability!

Lucysdiamonds · 30/01/2017 11:51

Great idea. I'm in south Wales. I can knit and used to crochet squares - my grandma taught me - but haven't for many years and now don't know how.

PurpleDaisies · 30/01/2017 12:04

whenthedragonscame would cribbs causeway work? It's easy off the motorway and free parking.

Spindelina · 30/01/2017 12:35

Purple and Dragons, can I gatecrash? I'm in Bath, and a complete novice hooker.

PurpleDaisies · 30/01/2017 12:36

Oooh, yes! The more the merrier.

Flossyfloof · 30/01/2017 12:40

I would be delighted to help by teaching knitting or crochet. I am in Loughborough.
I haven't posted on the Zombie threads because I wasn't around at the beginning and don't feel right about it but if I could help I would be so pleased.

How lovely, marking place

thedishonthecoffeetable · 30/01/2017 13:04

I'm in the Staffs moorlands if anyone in that area would like to learn. Plenty of wool and spare hooks.

inlectorecumbit · 30/01/2017 13:31

In Scotland l have wool and a hook but no clue how to use them Sad. will have a go on you tube

IAmAPaleontologist · 30/01/2017 13:37

Oh bastards where abouts? I'm west of Durham, if you'd be willing to teach me out would be lovely to have a woolly meet up.

Ooooh purple I'm in Bath too, can knit and am happy to teach, but can't crochet and would love to learn. Got a almost 6 month baby though, so she'd have to be there.

steppemum · 30/01/2017 14:51

I am in Swindon, I can knit and teach that, but would love to crochet too.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 30/01/2017 15:17

Cribbs would be absolutely fine with me. What days can you do? I'm on placement until March so not much time during the week (I do have the odd day off) and two primary aged children at the weekend.

Spindelina definitely the more the merrier.

Spindelina · 30/01/2017 15:24

I work Mon-Fri (but could take a day's leave if I've got nothing in the diary.

At the weekend, I'll have DD(4) with me unless I can convince DH (SAHD, before you think he's not doing his fair share of parenting!) to come shopping or keep her at home. We'll be coming by train and/or bus, so Sundays aren't great.

scalliondays · 30/01/2017 16:14

Hi
I'm in Edinburgh. Currently knitting stripey squares for Candy's hugs but would love to learn to crochet if anyone competent or equally inept nearby.

whenthedragonscome and spindelina I've got a couple of busy weeks but after half term I'm free most days (not Sundays). What we could do is let the thread run a couple of days, see if there are any other locals and then evaluate? If we can't find a day we can all do I'm more than happy to do two trips.

Spindelina · 30/01/2017 17:11

(and vebrithien)

Sounds like a good plan.
