We have played with Eve / Evie for the new bubaloo but it's just not sticking, something is preventing us both for going for it, and I don't know what / why. Perhaps we'll suddenly feel it and go for it, but maybe not.

Other contenders are:

Lauren
Amelie

Last night D said he really liked the name Saskia, I'm not so sure.

It has to semi go a bit with Carlotte / Lottie (our eldest DD) and her last name begins with M and you makes a 'moy' sound.

Any comments on the names we have thought of and any other suggestions?

Love Amelie

DD2 (when she decides to get here) is going to be called Talia. (don't mind if you pinch it though )

goosey · 01/01/2006 21:39

What about Evelyn?

Twiglett · 01/01/2006 21:39

Saskia brings to mind Big Brother which I didn't even watch much off

I like Amelie a lot .. and you can have an ellie for short (ellie and lottie v. cute)

although she might then be an ellie-cat (alley-cat?)

I like Kitten

I like Lauren (but does it go with surname?)

Chicagomum · 01/01/2006 21:40

Friend has just had a baby and called her Anya which I think is quite pretty and unusual. Tho' TBH I love the name Evie.

Twiglett · 01/01/2006 21:41

Anya = monster character from Buffy .. like it

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2006 21:42

Not keen on saskia personally but i like amelie. and evie.

MistletAero · 01/01/2006 21:43

My neice is Eva - lovely. Like Amelie too though not sure it goes as well with Lottie as the E names iyswim.

JoolsToo · 01/01/2006 21:44

Grace
Anna
Katie
Lydia

Toothyboy · 01/01/2006 21:45

I like Lauren - I know someone with the spelling Loren. Don't like Saskia or Amelie.

LOL twiglett, had no idea. Don't think thats why she choose it though . Apparently something to do with spanish blood in the family I think.

Milgestoe · 01/01/2006 21:48

There are loads of Evie's around at the moment, which would put me off - likewise Amelie, which I like, but would inevitably get shortened to the ubiquitous Millie. Is Lottie a Charlotte? I wanted to call dd Eva, but dh rejected it because of its hitler connotations. What about going with a mn popular vote, Katharine, known as Kitty. Kitty and Lottie, v cute!

Posey · 01/01/2006 21:49

I still really like Eve/Evie/Eva, but know what you mean about names not feeling right (dd was going to be Jessica until she was born, then it just didn't seem right for her and I still feel adamant it was not the name for her)

Love Amelie, not so keen on Lauren.

Like Kate, Olivia, Alice,

TIREDofwrappingpressiesEMMA · 01/01/2006 21:49

amelie/amelia could then "shortern" (sp?) to Millie, like you have shorterned charlotte to lottie.

also like Matilda (tilly)
maisie

but really love evie!

TIREDofwrappingpressiesEMMA · 01/01/2006 21:50

kitty is a fab name!!

sweetkitty · 01/01/2006 21:51

love Amelia/Millie would have been DD2's name but DP has a surname it wouldn't go with!!!

nutcracker · 01/01/2006 21:52

I also like Evie too, others I like are

Leah
Gracie
Imogen
Scarlet
Caitlin
Olivia

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2006 21:52

Thomcat, what about Ava? (my dd as you may remember!)

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2006 21:53

miranda?

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 01/01/2006 21:54

how's about Sabine, dh won't let me have it, so you can if you like

Witchycat · 01/01/2006 21:55

I like Evie or Erica.

My dd is Lilian which gets shortened to Lily sometimes.

TIREDofwrappingpressiesEMMA · 01/01/2006 21:55

ruby?

hoxtonchick · 01/01/2006 21:55

my dd is florence

Witchycat · 01/01/2006 21:56

WWW - Miranda Richardson is one of my favourite actresses so Miranda gets my vote too.

Clary · 01/01/2006 21:56

TC Lauren is of course the same initial as Lottie (sort of) which I know some people like but I always wonder about post for Miss L. Whatever, who is it for (dh had the same initial as his dad and had this problem).
I like Evie and also Amelie (but how do you say it?)
If you want suggestions my faves are
Mabel
Florence
Agnes
Constance
(but these may be a bit off the wall for you!)
