We have played with Eve / Evie for the new bubaloo but it's just not sticking, something is preventing us both for going for it, and I don't know what / why. Perhaps we'll suddenly feel it and go for it, but maybe not.

Other contenders are:

Lauren
Amelie

Last night D said he really liked the name Saskia, I'm not so sure.

It has to semi go a bit with Carlotte / Lottie (our eldest DD) and her last name begins with M and you makes a 'moy' sound.

Any comments on the names we have thought of and any other suggestions?

I think Florence is lovely. Ds often calls dd2 Florence (her name is chloe), he is a huge magic roundabout fan

MistletAero · 01/01/2006 21:58

I guess Amelie could also be shortened to Amie (Amy) which goes nicely with Lottie.

thecattleareALOHing · 01/01/2006 21:58

Ha! You are as bad as I was naming my dd!
I considered (amoung many others) Nina, Edith (Edie), Lucy, Felicity, Katharine, Angelica...oh and loads of others that I forget now. Maybe someone could link to my old threads

hoxtonchick · 01/01/2006 21:59

Clementine, Phoebe, Rosalind/Rosie, Isabelle(necessary)/Izzy, Daisy, Polly, Penny. I still like Lucinda(lucy), Susannah( Susie), Philippa, but these are probably a bit too 1970's for you!

foundintransleightion · 01/01/2006 22:02

Love WWW's suggestions of Ava and Miranda.
Also like Amelie and do like Saskia, which is reasonably common over here in Germany.
Of JoolsToo's suggestions I particularly like Lydia.

nutcracker · 01/01/2006 22:03

My mom wanted me to call one of my dd's Lydia. I didn't because I used to get called it at school, but I think it is a lovely name.

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2006 22:08

aloha dithering!

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 01/01/2006 22:11

Is Carlotte the German for Charlotte? (Sorry, have no clue!).

A name I love is Maggie and think Margeurite is very pretty for the full name, but not sure it goes with your surname (difficult to say without knowing the full name).

For the same reason not sure whether Amelie would go well with a surname with an 'M' sound in the name and the surname following. Although Eve/ie, Lauren and Amelie are all very pretty names

I like Arabella (nn Bella), Greta, Ilse, Luise, Mathilda, Rosalind/mond out of all the remotely Germanesque names I know (if indeed there is a German connection).

Good luck choosing!

thecattleareALOHing · 01/01/2006 22:13

Ah, that was a nice trip down memory lane

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2006 22:13

It's such a responsibility isn't it, naming a child?

JoolsToo · 01/01/2006 22:13

ah Aloha - dm is Edith (she's 81!) dd is Katharine

I love Matilda, and if i were insane enough to procreate again, it would be my first choice of name. think it would go really well with my two boys names aswell.

thecattleareALOHing · 01/01/2006 22:14

Very nice names IMO!

thecattleareALOHing · 01/01/2006 22:15

I like the sound of Charlotte and Felicity.

Harriet is lovely too.

thecattleareALOHing · 01/01/2006 22:21

I like Saskia too. Believe me, I know how hard this is!

TwoIfBySea · 01/01/2006 22:21

I quite like both Amelie and Saskia (read that someone on BB was called that but as I don't watch it have no idea how annoying or not she was!)

You could have a look on here for inspiration. It also has the top 10+ names in other countries too.
