We have played with Eve / Evie for the new bubaloo but it's just not sticking, something is preventing us both for going for it, and I don't know what / why. Perhaps we'll suddenly feel it and go for it, but maybe not.

Other contenders are:

Lauren
Amelie

Last night D said he really liked the name Saskia, I'm not so sure.

It has to semi go a bit with Carlotte / Lottie (our eldest DD) and her last name begins with M and you makes a 'moy' sound.

Any comments on the names we have thought of and any other suggestions?

TIREDofwrappingpressiesEMMA · 01/01/2006 22:35

nutcracker · 01/01/2006 22:36

charliecat · 01/01/2006 22:38

Anya I think thats pretty

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 01/01/2006 22:41

Oh, I see! I read LOL Emma as "Laugh Out Loud Emma" but obviously in the wrong context, I thought you thougth Emma was a funny name for some reason - doh!

charliecat · 01/01/2006 22:47

Bomper · 01/01/2006 22:51

OK, a little contraversial of me but let's split it down a bit:

Names which are nice and popular but which the world doesn't really need any more examples of at the moment:
Alice
Ella
Ellie
Grace
Sophie
Olivia
....Evie (sorry!!)

Names which are popular but not really that nice and which the world doesn't need any more examples of:
Megan
Caitlyn
Niamh
Tegan
(told you this would be contraversial! but you haven't suggested any of these anyway)

Names which people think are "fresh" and "groovy" but haven't been used for 60 years and there is a reason why (and which will be the Lorraines and Beverleys of the year 2020):
Ruby
Pearl
Maud
Maeve
Mabel

Names that would go with Charlotte/Lottie (ie English/fairly traditional/sweet nicknames)but not heard on every street corner
Amelia/Amelie/Milly
Harriet/Hatty
Virginia/Ginny
Georgina/Gina/Georgie
Nina (love this name)
Ava (getting very popular but still very nice)
Stella (think this is a good one for you, don't know why, just seems to fit)

That's my tuppenceworth for now! Probably doesn't help at all but it was fun

PrincessPeahead · 01/01/2006 23:24

Oh and Lauren is quite pretty but very American and (whisper) a bit chavvy in this country and I don't think goes with Lottie very well. How about Lara instead? But not sure about the double "L" thing.

Ever feel you should have just CATed instead

Lovely names on your shortlist Aloha,
Cecily is fab and one I've not come across before.
Edie - would be on my short list, it's lovely
I like Felicity a lot too and know a wonderful girl call Felicity so like it even more now.
Unfortunately Lucy reminds me of someone I very much DISlike so can't look lovingly on that name now, although dear nanny thomcat was called Lucy.

(Thomcat's post from Aloha's thread!)

Still having trouble with names chez Hunker (although think we may have cracked it ) - good luck, TC!

JoolsToo · 01/01/2006 23:25

only like Nina of your last bunch

imo names like

Grace
Olivia
Sophie (not keen on this one)
Alice (or this)

are classic names - they may very popular at different times, but they stand the test of time and suit little girls and laydees

and that is my twopenceworth!

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 01/01/2006 23:25

LOL!

I wanted to call DD Stella but DH drinks far too much of the stuff so her middle name is Estelle

Mytwopenceworth · 01/01/2006 23:31

Maria
Damaris
Bronya
Salome
Anushka
Freya
Taryn

merrySOAPBOXingday · 01/01/2006 23:31

I agree with much of what PPH has just posted.

Another addition to the list that I like is Rose/Rosie/Rosa

Cara/Carly

I do like Amelie (as I have an Amelia - whom is called Amy most of the time).

I like Ava and, sorry ALoha, I do like Edie too

Faye?

Not keen on Stella myself!

Spidermama · 02/01/2006 00:17

Amelie's nice. I know quite a few Laurens.

I was going to call my dd Billie before I found out he was a ds.

wheresmyfroggy · 02/01/2006 00:19

Saskia is a bloody great name thomcat.

As is Amelie and also Evie lol

How about

Thea

Francesca

Frances

harpsichordcarrier · 02/01/2006 00:22

no for Lauren just tooo many of them
I second Lara, very smart
I REALLY like Saskia. just a charming name
Amelie is pretty but imho just about everyone will hear it as Emily and you will have to keep over emphasising the "A", which mightbe irritating
