Was I rude and disrespectful?

This is my first time doing this so please be patient with me:)
I live at home with my 15 year old daughter and my partner lives in his own place. I alternate my time between both of them every other evening. On the days/evenings that I’m not with him he will call me up to 5 times for a chat and he will text message me too.
He called me the other day for the third time in one morning and whilst I was on the phone to him my daughter needed some help so I asked him to hold on briefly and apologised while I helped her. She very rarely interrupts so I saw no problem in this as I speak to him so much each day anyway!
Well apparently this was not ok! When I saw him the other evening he went on a rant and said that when I did this I was rude and disrespectful to him and now he is saying that when I stay over at his, that she shouldn’t call me when I’m with him unless it’s a dire emergency as it’s ‘our time’ together and she interrupts this BUT it’s ok for him to call me when I’m spending time with her?
Was I rude and disrespectful?

@TittyGolightly what has that got to do with any of this ?? Completely irrelevant

WhatWouldOliviaPopeDo · 17/03/2018 19:53

Oh bore off Titty, the OP has got more important things to deal with right now than your unhelpful digs.

Mellow, you are amazing. Far too many times I've read threads on MN from women who are in dire situations but don't feel brave enough to act. You've done that, and more. I'm sure you'll be an inspiration to others. Enjoy your peace and quiet!

Do fuck off Titty. How is that remotely helpful?

MellowMelly · 19/03/2018 09:34

Morning! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Thankyou to those who have stuck up for me on here after Titty got involvedConfused. I’ll clear that one up though....this has only been the arrangement since daughter had her baby.
Moving on swiftly to those who wanted an update, (now ex) partner was released with bail conditions. Have heard nothing from him so far! Oh the relief!
Just had to deal with his foul mouthed daughter over the rest of the weekend and his mother. They must all have some sort of genetic crazy geneHmm

Fantastic. Enjoy your freedom!

Hoping he leaves you alone and his crazy family

SnowSki · 19/03/2018 10:00

Titty Its obvious where you are going with this but it’s also quite obvious that this arrangement came into play once OP’s DD got pregnant! She has stated ‘SS got involved because of her age’, she mentioned she does this to, ‘give them time to bond as a family’ etc why would OP leave home for them to bond if there was no baby in the picture? Surely this is just common sense.

Brilliant that you're free of that man, Mellow! Hope you've reported his daughter and mum too.

MellowMelly · 22/03/2018 22:41

Thankyou everyone! You have all been a wonderful support. For the first time in 3 years I can breathe again Grin
I’m so glad I plucked up the courage and posted on here otherwise I think I’d still be stuck with him! You might all be strangers to me but thanks for being there and offering me the support and advice I so much needed. Life changing! Flowers Xx
