FEEDBACK THREAD for Joggler testers

GeraldineMumsnet · 29/05/2009 12:12

Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

At least you can unplug the Joggler when it's misbehaving though.

MrsWeasley · 21/06/2009 21:47

very true. Why dont O2 make children that you can unplug?!

LupusinaLlamasuit · 21/06/2009 21:48

Looks familiar?

Hmm. So O2 are branding a product that already exists. And which runs more apps, and Google calendar instead of the O2 calendar? And runs like a phone hub? Which I suggested?

How VAIRY interesting.

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/06/2009 21:48

It would be great if you could re-boot them every time they go into one of those teenage moods, wouldn't it?!

LupusinaLlamasuit · 21/06/2009 21:50

ooh looky looky tablet version with docking station.

I'll just have that, with Google calendar please O2...

MrKrabs · 21/06/2009 21:51

well a mate of mine wants one like mine so if anyone doesnt want theirs...

LupusinaLlamasuit · 21/06/2009 21:52

not giving it up yet

just looking up the other options.

MerlinsBeard · 21/06/2009 22:13

That's the one someone linked to further down the thread. Now, i would pay £150 for one of those. DH and i were discussing the joggler y'day. LOVING the calendar bit but on the face of it, its just a calendar and photo frame when you get down to the main selling points. You can pick up a digital photo frame for around £40.

Ours is a calendar a weather checker gizmo and a clock

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/06/2009 22:20

Well mine still won't send messages, despite having been turned off and turned back on again.

largeginandtonic · 21/06/2009 22:52

Still love it.

It is filled with Sports day, Beavers, gymnastics, Brownies, swimming x a million, violin, orchestra, guitar club, choir, art club, toddlers and extra 'big school' days for ds5.

It copes well under the strain and does not argue with me, i like it.

SoupDragon · 22/06/2009 07:38

Mine is more an ornament.

BONKERZ · 22/06/2009 08:36

mine has had to be moved to the lounge where i can access it more easily. Dh still putting his hours in and DH says he loves it cos he knows where everyone is when he needs to. the texts are helping DH and are starting to come through about 45 mins before instead of 10 minutes after! I have actually started setting the time of activity earlier and putting actual time in info so reminders come through very eary ie will set time at 9am but in info will right course at 11.45.......reminders come through for about 8.50!

BecauseImWorthIt · 22/06/2009 13:00

Well, my messages have finally arrived! The ones I sent on Saturday .........

Not good, 02.

MerlinsBeard · 22/06/2009 13:12

my mum just rang in a flap because the text i sent her from the Joggler on FRIDAY that said "this is a test in case i ever get burgled and they only leave the joggler" only just arrived. AND it says that it sent on Saturday - erm no it didn't!! it just got there half an hour ago!!!!

SoupDragon · 22/06/2009 13:15

Do you think I can bypass the whole internet connection and just use it as a photo frame?

MerlinsBeard · 22/06/2009 16:54

well you could if you don't have masses of photo's...or is it just me that filled the memory really really fast?!

MrsWeasley · 22/06/2009 18:16

The message I sent to my Joggler on Saturday arrived Today at lunchtime.

Luckily it was only a test message and nothing important but it makes me think I can't use that function reliably.

SandyS1965 · 22/06/2009 21:32

@atO2 @lou031205, I'm not a tester but am thinking about getting a Joggler, but am having trouble with the T&Cs. There's "3.2 You also agree to the information described being used, analysed and assessed by us, and the other parties identified in clause 15.1 and selected"

and "7.2 Subject to overall provision in paragraph 14.1 above, O2 shall not be liable to you for:"

but there's no clause 15.1 or paragraph 14.1. I did send a message to O2 via the O2 website with a supposed reply in 24 hours but that was last Wednesday.

Anybody offer any help?

MerlinsBeard · 23/06/2009 09:09

Sandy, at this point in time i would honestly say don't bother. Sorry O2 but i feel there are better products out there at this moment in time.

If all you are having problems with is the clauses then you haven;t read this thread!!

A lot of us have pretty clocks/photo frames, some of us really enjoy it but none of us has a fully functioning product.

If it's the calendar you are attracted to i would go for an ipod touch, you can access your calendar online anyway, put music on, get the apps you really want on it AND browse the internet!

SandyS1965 · 23/06/2009 18:02

@MoM, thanks. I've read through all 21 pages and I can see that the thing is less than perfect. I'm at least a little encouraged that 'atO2' and 'JogglerGirl' seem to have some involvement in product development and that this board seems to be influencing it. That's more than the O2 website does.

If it can finally do what's asked of it, and if O2 can at least get their T&C sorted out, I'm not sure that I'm too bothered about them analysing my family's calendar entries and I'm able to tell them to take their marketing and shove it (although I thought that under UK law you had to opt in to direct marketing these days, not opt out?) I'd just like to know what groups they're 'sharing' that analysis with.

We have a Mac Mini in the kitchen that does the Calendar thing (with Google), works as a TV, lets me run iTunes, BBC iPlayer, and so on, but most of this is overkill. I'd really like a Joggler.

Thanks,
Sandy.

BecauseImWorthIt · 24/06/2009 11:25

Please can we have a direct link to the calendar online? I'm sick of having to listen to that bloody ad every time I access it! I'm realising that I'm more likely to access it online as well, so a direct/quick link will be really important.

Can you also, lovely people at 02, please fix it so that the calendar shows the entry in full, not just ending it with .... so that you miss part of it? This is especially important if I've entered something that is 'tbc' as I need to know that this is something I have to act on. (I suppose I could preface the entry with tbc, but it's still irritating not seeing the whole entry, especially when there's loads of space left for the rest of the day!)

Are 02 actually monitoring this thread, btw, or are we all wasting our time now?

MerlinsBeard · 24/06/2009 12:42

How long did they want the testing to last for?

I have more groans (apparently i am hard to please)

I would like to set more than one reminder - partly because then if one arrives late then it may arrive at the appropriate time but mostly because i want to know the day before AND an hour before

MelonCauli · 25/06/2009 16:24

Are O2 going to fix some of these things soon do you think? Is there an end date to this trial? I am finding that I am using the Joggler less and less. The calendar is so inferior to the google one we use that I have given up using it as the novelty has worn off. I can see that I will last to the end of term then put it in a cupboard for the summer holidays.

MARGOsBeenDrinkingTea · 27/06/2009 22:59

I'm sure my Joggler is broken...it's not showing any other news except Michael Jacksons death.

anne70 · 29/06/2009 19:45

Hi MelonCauli

Yes the trial technically ends this Wednesday when we have the second (and last) webchat on mum-e.co.uk. This will be like the last one except you'd have had the product a couple of weeks and can ask O2 more questions and vice versa.

It starts at 1pm so speak then!

Anne
