Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

JogglerGirl - yes, please contact me direct. You can use vix5868 at hotmail dot com or I guess you can get my phone number from Mumsnet Towers.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 11/06/2009 21:20

Hope everyone (and O2) doesn't mind but thought it would be helpful to post the answers to our webchat questions here so we can continue the debate before the next webchat. So I'm cut and pasting...

Our Answers to Your Questions:

Q1. Why doesn?t the music respond to I player format?
A1. [O2 Family Team] We suspect user may users mean iTunes? If so, then this is because of the constraints Apple put on their music: they won?t allow us to use their format on non-Apple kit. This is known as DRM (Digital Rights Management) and although they have recently relaxed their stance on this, it?s only applicable going forward (is not to music you already have in your iTunes)

Q2. I?m having problems setting the time and date!
A2. [O2 Family Team] to set time & date, go to setting, time & date. Select Time zone using the scrolling screens (British summer time is the one you need) Then check that the Use NTP box is set to ?yes?. After a few seconds the Joggler should update itself to show the correct time (a**uming it?s connected to your router)

Q3. My reminders are coming late ? what?s the issue?
A3. [O2 Family Team] We?ve heard a few reports of this and are working to resolve ?

Q4. If I could sync it with my Husbands Crackberry it would be a great too?
A4. [O2 Family Team] We are working on making the Calendar more ?mobile?; stay tuned and we?ll keep you posted with developments

Q5. Will it have an internet browser in the future?
A5. [O2 Family Team] Under review

Q6. There isn?t enough memory!
A6. [O2 Family Team] We are working on increasing this, but don?t forget that you can view photos, Video and play music direct from a USB memory stick. And try the Connect & Play feature; using this you can stream music etc from your home PC (or NAS drive or similar if you have)

Q7. What apps will be available in the future?
A7. [O2 Family Team] 2 more games and radio will be next. Then there will be a application store with a selection of new things; we?ll firm them up nearer then time

Q8. I can?t believe it hasn?t got a rechargeable battery!
A8. [O2 Family Team] next generation may well do

Q9. The power supply is ugly ? will this change?
A9. [O2 Family Team] working on it, but remember it?s a transformer as well (similar to that of a laptop)

Q10. Will it be wall mounted?
A10. [O2 Family Team] No in the plans at the moment

Q11. Will updates be available on the next generation Joggler or via online updates?
A11. [O2 Family Team] Updates will be sent direct to your Joggler ? in the same was as you received the Messaging application

Q12. Why should I pay for the O2 Joggler when I can get better online calendars elsewhere?
A12. [O2 Family Team] You don?t need an O2 Joggler to use the O2 Calendar. You can sign up to it on o2.co.uk, use it without an O2 Joggler and there is no charge to use it. The ability to send text reminders free of charge to your mobile and the mobile of others is one of the features of O2 Calendar that is particularly popular with customers

[O2 Family Team] The O2 Joggler provides the advantage of being able to tap straight through to your O2 Calendar without having to power up PC and sign into it.

Q13. I can believe it doesn?t have a To Do List!
I can?t make notes about an event!
A13. [O2 Family Team] We have had similar feedback from other people since launch. Before we start building this functionality, however, we need to get a better understanding of what the customers want and how they want to use it.

Q14. My reminders are coming consistency late ? what?s the issue?
A14. [O2 Family Team]The engineers are investigating the cause. Shall post an update when they get to the bottom of it.

Q15. The Calendar needs a 2 week repeat function and end times for events
I need an event alarm, why hasn?t it got one?
A15. [O2 Family Team] These features are at the top of a list improvements that we want to make to the O2 Calendar service.

Q16. The Instruction manual needs to be better -The guide/manual/online manual is hopeless and doesn?t explain what some of the other functions are/how to use them. I still don?t know what the memo function is for
A16. [O2 Family Team] The Quick Start Guide etc were kept simple because that is what was requested by the initial trial participants, who said that they didn?t want a document that was too long or detailed.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 11/06/2009 21:25

So, what do we actually want in a To Do list?

I want to be able to write a note connected to an event, to give it a deadline date with a reminder alarm some days before, I want it to be linkable to particular people.

I then want to be able to access that list intelligently: so for example I want to see what tasks are due on what days, but I also want to be able to see the whole list of tasks when I need to.

Um, just like the Palm software really

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not Tesco shopping list: OCADO!!! Or both? [hopeful emoticon alongside resigned emoticon since Tesco have the market share]

LupusinaLlamasuit · 11/06/2009 21:26

But good news on the calendar developments being 'in development'.

And the fugly plug

Haribosmummy · 11/06/2009 22:05

I def. would like to see an intelligent to do list (as well as being able to add stand alone tasks)

Personally, I've found the joggler very easy to use and we are using both the online calander and the actual joggler for events.

Like the idea of shopping but please let it be Ocado or atleast the option to choose!!!

I'm not taken on the idea of uploading photos / music etc., onto the joggler or playing games on it.
For me, it's an organisational tool and what I really want is it to be able to tell me what I need to know quickly.

I would like the traffic function to be able to cope with set routes (like: DH's route to work / DSD's route to school etc.,) so that it's quickly obvious if there is a problem which will affect our family
I'd also like the events to ask for a location (like, for instance... DSD is at the O2 tonight to watch Britney Spears... would be good if the joggler could pick up on the location and cross reference that with the tube strike... but that might be asking a bit much!!)

I'd like a birthday list too.

I still don't have a problem with the plug... but a docking station and a battery pack would be great...

I did mention the printing of the diary but I've realised that I can do that very easily from the on line diary.

Thankfully I've had no cause to call O2 Customer services!!!

SoupDragon · 12/06/2009 08:49

I am seriously p-ed off with the calendar thing.

i have one reminder set up. Last week it arrived 35 minutes late, today it is 47 minutes late.

This makes the whole thing completely and utterly useless and a waste of money. What is the point of an expensive high-tech gadget if it doesn't actually do what it's meant to?

not that I actually have the gadget part ATM.

atO2 · 12/06/2009 09:33

Hi Mums,

To all of you that are having trouble with CS at the mo...sincerest apologies! We are on it to try and ressolve the SL's.

Please can you confirm the number that you are calling?

I'm guessing it was the number you received in your welcome letter - 08448 750202

atO2

BecauseImWorthIt · 12/06/2009 09:37

One more suggestion - it would be brilliant if the Joggler could display that we have received a message via text on the screensaver/calendar page - at the moment, to find out if there's a message you have to go through 2 'layers' to get to the message page.

A bit like the number on your telephone that tells you immediately by just looking at it how many messages you have on the answerphone.

JogglerGirl · 12/06/2009 09:44

@ Melon Cauli...
Apoliges again for the poor CS experience you've had. We are keen to rectify this: can i get your contact detaills?
thanks

atO2 · 12/06/2009 09:47

Morning BecauseI?mWorthIt and the rest of mumsnet,

Here's a link that may be able to help get the most out of your 02 Joggler

In particular Morning BecauseI?mWorthIt, with regard to your 'Connect & Play' question :

First thing I would suggest is to go to O2 Joggler Self Help

  • Click on the O2 Joggler icon
  • Click on ?What else can my Joggler do??
  • Click ?Connect and Play?

You will then see all of the steps you have to go through to set up the feature.

If it still doesn't work get back to mum-e at [email protected] and she'll help point you in the right direction.

at O2

JogglerGirl · 12/06/2009 09:47

@ Bramblebooks - Our CS will call you today to resolve. Apologies again.

atO2 · 12/06/2009 10:14

@ Wilbur,

To answer your questions from the ichat...

'Jpegs not loading & C&P issues'

Photos: to set as a screensaver, go into settings, scroll to 2nd page of settings and select screensaver. Select photo slideshow, tap on the picture that shows in the window and it will go into slideshow mode and keep merrily displaying your pictures.

Alternatively, go into photos, hit on one of the thumbnails, and will will go into full screen. Hit the screen again and the control bar will show up at the bottom of the screen. If you click on the ?circle with a arrow? button (so that it shows green) this will put it into repeat mode and will cycle through all your pics again and again.

Hope this helps?

Bluetooth would be good, especially for example if I've been at work or away at a conference and filled up my Smartphone that you are going to develop with its inbuilt calendar with appointments. I don't want to waste money texting them when I get back home, I just wanna zap to update over Bluetooth.

And if this happens, couldn't this also allow it to become a telephone hub also? Or am I being a bit dim?

lou031205 · 12/06/2009 10:54

The more I am using it, the more I think it is essential that I can set an event as relevant to one person, but remind another. Also, I need to be able to set the reminder for one person a week before, and another a day before. Also, it would be good to be able to set the reminder for one week before AND one day before.

suwoo · 12/06/2009 12:26

My joggler has arrived and switches on fine .

Jogglergirl, I too haven't had much success with customer services. I rang the number on the letter and a generic number from the website. The staff members were very polite and professional, they just couldn't help me. They explained that there is no database with the customers information, so my joggler couldn't be traced. I'm very glad I didn't invest my own cash in it. It works out at not much less than my weekly wage.

Anyway, now it has arrived and I have read about all the other functions it has from everyone elses feedback, I can start playing with it.

MelonCauli · 12/06/2009 12:53

Someone called John is phoning me at 5pm today. He sounds very polite when he left a message so it looks hopeful.

bramblebooks · 12/06/2009 14:07

Thanks Joggler girl, will update how I get on.

BONKERZ · 12/06/2009 14:09

i feel bad cos i missed the web chat thingy, my iternet has been down since tues and been reconnected today.......

SoupDragon · 12/06/2009 14:28

Forget bluetooth, docking stations, pretty power supplies games & radio, it would be nice if the damn thing actually sent reminders on time. "Working to resolve it" doesn't really cut the ice TBH - surely this is the main selling point of the whole thing?

lou031205 · 12/06/2009 14:50

Totally agree, SoupDragon

bramblebooks · 12/06/2009 16:20

@jogglergirl - please thank John at support for me; my online calendar is now up and running and I'm getting it all set up to sync with the joggler - may surprise my husband with an event reminder text!

bramblebooks · 12/06/2009 16:28

Brad has updated and he is organising us already.

I can already foresee asking for a secret password to put in when getting the joggler to send texts as my son and husband will be using my allowance up once they've sussed that they can do that.

whoops · 12/06/2009 17:18

I set the alarm to go off at 8am this morning so that the kids would get me up if I wasn't already but heard something going off at midnght last night and found that the alarm was switched off when I got up at 7am so good job I did get up really

bramblebooks · 12/06/2009 18:45

ARgh! Is anyone else's joggler taking ages or just not showing the calendar when you click on the calendar button? My calendar is being choosy about when it shows itself, sometimes coming onscreen, sometimes taking ages - I've checked the network settings and the signal's good.

MelonCauli · 12/06/2009 19:08

John is a bit of a star here as well. He has sorted my problem with the calendar and he called back to check. Unheard of.

I also have his email address (which I shall keep to myself - don't want you lot getting in the way of my personal Joggler advisor).
