GeraldineMumsnet · 29/05/2009 12:12

Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

IroningBored, you're just jealous because you don't have one. and you're not having mine

although I think I've lost mine. f*ck! I've no idea where it is!!

bramblebooks · 07/06/2009 19:20

I'm back from all my gallivanting and Brad is here. I've set him up - very easy - but have had to phone O2 support about setting up the online calendar. The tecchy guys are going to sort it and get back to me I hope tomorrow.

MrsWeasley · 07/06/2009 19:59

On the calendar on the O2 site the "special day themes" move but on the joggler they are static. Is this the same on everyones?

bramblebooks · 07/06/2009 21:52

Brad was very easy to upload with photos and he is scrolling merrily with family pix - I already love him muchly. Really enjoying the photo frame aspect.

DH wants to know if it's got a remote control.

anne70 · 08/06/2009 10:48

Hi to all of you and thanks for all your feedback - please keep it coming.
Just to let you know that O2 are looking at the problems some of you are having with the texting facility and are hoping to have it sorted really soon.
All other issues have also been passed on to the relevant people at O2 and there will be replies and answers added to this thread asap.
I'm looking forward to talking to some of you on the mumsnet Joggler testers feedback session on my blog (www.mum-e.co.uk) on Wednesday. There will be O2 experts at hand to answer queries.

I got my text reminder 30mins after the appointment

suwoo · 08/06/2009 10:51

I haven't posted on here yet, but my Joggler has stopped working . It doesn't switch on at all. Today is the day that I WILL ring them and get it sorted.

lou031205 · 08/06/2009 12:44

I phoned o2 re: the text reminders coming late (, given that I actually paid £150 to have that privilege) and apparently there is a fix they can apply, so they are going to do that at some point. I had to give some settings to the guy on the phone.

wilbur · 08/06/2009 17:21

Ok - I am now at the end of my first week with the Joggler and have got some more formal feedback than the bits and pieces I have left so far:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up? - To connect it was very easy indeed, impressively simple. Setting up the calendar took a while, but that was more just getting used to the inputting (I have not used an online calendar before). Getting music and pictures onto the Joggler was more problematic - it really didn't like some of my jpeg files from Photoshop although I got some on there in the end.
  1. What worked best for you? So far, it's the calendar. I'm lucky enough to have the perfect spot for it in the kitchen on a shelf so it's been great to be able to tap away and add stuff on the fly. Having dh able to put his stuff in is fab too, as he NEVER remembers to put it in on the wall calendar.
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend? Yes if, like me, they didn't already have some kind of online tech calendar system and were already on o2. I would want to see some of the functions improved and a bit more flexibility before I wholeheartedly recommended it.
  1. Do you think it's good value for money - Given that digital picture frames cost about £100, I think it would be a reasonable price if all the apps worked really well - at the moment, they seems a little hit and miss.
  1. Would you like to see any additions? There are a number of things I would add to/change about the calendar function:
- event alarm - event end time - link to memo/to do list - choice of different colours for text or event highlights - When an extended event is just one person (eg sleepover) it should just extend that person's colour block and not put in a whole great swathe of blue (interestingly in the demo video, it shows it like this, why not in RL?) - Also, extended events should be able to have a start and finish time. Again with sleepovers, I can't put in that they start at 4pm and end at 11am the next morning - when you put in 4pm start, it shows that on both days so it looks like the sleepover is starting all over again the next day and you get a blue line through the whole two days which is confusing for everyone. - Would like some kind of Flagged Event system so that certain events (birthdays, end of term) always stay at the top of the day's diary. At the moment, birthdays are getting shoved down the page by extended events. - MUST be able to alter individual events in a repeated event - In an ideal world, I would be able to put the colour blobs in order - so if there's something that is for dd but that I have to take her too - her colour comes first and mine second. At the moment, mine is always first as I am the top of the list. - There is no £ sign in the memo function - There is no percentage function on the calculator!!

The Joggler needs a to do list function - something along the lines of Remember The Milk which is an excellent system - that can be linked to the calendar. On RTM you can date your To Dos so somewhere to tap on the day's events to see what to dos are listed for that day would be fantastic and would be the kind of thing that would get me evangelical about the Joggler.

  1. How would you use it to organise your family life? I have actually started the process of switching phones to o2 as the text reminders and being able to text the joggler would be a total godsend for me and dh. If that works, we will most likely stick with it as our family calendar and very much enjoy having a digi photo frame in our kitchen. We are also using the weather and news functions a lot - much easier than TV or internet.
  1. Anything else you'd like to add? The Joggler and o2 Calendar need to combine the cleverness of new technology with the flexibilty of a pen and paper if it is really going to triumph over Organised Mum and the like. Org Mum is fab because the stickers, space to write notes and lists, all make it easy to read and at a glance effective.
SoupDragon · 09/06/2009 13:12

My Joggler is fried

Having finally bought an Ethernet hub and got it plugged in, it lit up at the back and then started to give off a burning smell. I unplugged it.

SoupDragon · 09/06/2009 13:14

The smoke from the back was a nice touch though.

AnnMumsnet · 09/06/2009 13:18

soupdragon, email me with details
Ann

SoupDragon · 09/06/2009 13:21

I think the task of organising my life proved too much for it

wilbur · 09/06/2009 16:03

Lol at Soupdragon's life melting her Joggler. Although that you can't play with it any more.

Has anyone else's just sung them a little song and come up with a new app for messages? I'm not yet connected to o2 so not sure if it going to work or not. Or is this a special thing for testers?

lou031205 · 09/06/2009 16:38

I have a paid for one and it has just added the update for messages, and it works.

wilbur · 09/06/2009 16:41

Ah - I see - I can text it messages from my non-o2 phone, but I can't do the template thing to add stuff directly to the calendar if I am not on o2. Still, I like the messaging facility a lot, now I just have to remember to check messages.

I hope the fact that my Joggler has its own phone number doesn't mean it's going to start getting spam texts...

SoupDragon · 09/06/2009 17:46

"can't play with it any more"?? I've not been able to play with it at all!

BecauseImWorthIt · 09/06/2009 17:47

Ooh yes! It now has its own text number. And we can add contacts, which is brilliant.

This will make it a lot more useful in the BIWI house.

Just one question - how much are the texts? Does it depend on what kind of phone/contract we're currently on or are they priced differently?

whoops · 09/06/2009 18:04

i don't actually think I will use the texts if I have to pay for it being that I get 600 free texts from my mobile and I found the keypad a bit hard to work too, some keys it would stick and give too many letters and others would need to be pressed a few times

ReginaCovington · 09/06/2009 18:08

OH MY GOD TO TEXTS

we LKOVE IT

ReginaCovington · 09/06/2009 18:09
