FEEDBACK THREAD for Joggler testers

GeraldineMumsnet · 29/05/2009 12:12

Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

  1. Did you find it easy to set up?
  1. What worked best for you?
  1. Would you recommend it to a friend?
  1. Do you think it's good value for money
  1. Would you like to see any additions?
  1. How would you use it to organise your family life?
  1. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

I'm generally getting vaguely disappointed now.

Calendar function is undoubtedly what we'll be using it for, but we seem to be a bit quiet on the family activities and my work front at the moment, so no opportunity to really test its value.

Connect and play is hopeless as it still doesn't think I've got anything to connect to. (Haven't had a chance to call the helpline about this but I will when I have a moment)

But it's lovely to look at and I can't resist finding out the weather/news headlines. Just wish I could do more

wilbur · 02/06/2009 10:08

I've got the o2 help desk looking into my non-functioning USB stick transfer of photos. Connect and Play also thinks I have nothing to connect to - should it be able to recognise my laptop wirelessly? Can anyone's do this? And has everyone else been able to load jpegs on through a USB stick?

BreevandercampLGJ · 02/06/2009 10:21

Right the alarm works, but only after I set it and then touched the red icon and turned it to green.

DS has also discovered that you can restore the display to the time by touching the time in the top right hand corner.

fruitshootsandheaves · 02/06/2009 10:31

oh I do love the alarm. All those great noises! I think DS2 will insist we use the fire engine one which starts quietly and then gets really loud as if a fire engine is going past outside.
I like the old alarm bell one. I am setting it just for fun because I am sad and have no life .
Why when there are SO many fun sounds in it have O2 not made it so you can link them to events?? can you tell that its annoying me that it has NO EVENT ALARM

BreevandercampLGJ · 02/06/2009 10:36

OMG
DS is going to love the fire engine.

I would also like to add a BIG thankyou to Mumsnet for my Joggler. Even though I have picked it apart and criticized it. I have had so much fun trying it out. I still have a few functions left to try out and sneer marvel at. What a fab job technology testers must have!

Another thanks to mumsnet towers for getting us our lovely shiny toys Yes I have criticised it a lot but its very pretty and I think it might be one of thosee things that you realise hass more uses over time

Legacy dh reckons it wont belong before someone 'hacks the firmware' and we will be able to get a browser etc on it.

I am v jealous of alarm sounds, I did turn the red bit to green and it still didnt work, maybe it was a softwaree glitch and they have fixed it [hopeful]

The alarm needs a recurring option.

BreevandercampLGJ · 02/06/2009 13:42

GGG

If it is any consolation, my alarm clock is now Kaput.

BreevandercampLGJ · 02/06/2009 13:49

I did somethng technical and it came back. unplugged

If you touch on alarm sound, it takes you to the different types of sounds. Is your sound on mute by any chance ??

Jennster · 02/06/2009 14:18

O2 If you're reading this, we've decided not to buy one until the glitches have been ironed out. We were very keen! I still like the idea, but think we'll stick to our organised chaos for the mean time.

anne70 · 02/06/2009 14:32

Hiya, I've been helping O2 with the Joggler feedback and am really interested in what you have all been saying. It's great that so many of you have had a positive experience of the Joggler so far - similar to mine.

I'd like to have somewhere on it I can type in recipes that I want to keep from magazines and newspapers..I have a drawer full of clippings I never use and sure I would use them if they were on the Joggler.

Also I'd like it to be wall mountable. Agree with what others have said about paramount work space.

Great that everyone is finding it so easy to set up...love a bit of girly geek chic!

Grattage · 02/06/2009 14:34

i want a memeo to a day

so " cricekt match 4pm"

then note linked to it " make sure kids have clean whites"

god my life is SO executive

LupusinaLlamasuit · 02/06/2009 15:09

I must admit (too busy marking) haven't got round to trying the memos and alarms yet. But if you can't do it with these, it does DEFFO need:

  • a shopping list function (and come on, you clever techy types must be able to programme this and do deals with Ocado all our favourite supermarkets so we can have an 'on the fly' shopping order?)
  • a to do list function (with reminders) easy enough for kids to use also. So DS can enter - need lion suit for Monday - etc... and I can check it
MARGOsBeenDrinkingTea · 02/06/2009 15:32

I like your idea Lupus of the shopping list function.

I'm uploading music on to a USB to play on the joggler.

wilbur · 02/06/2009 16:22

Right, my Joggler is now playing Ray Charles to me which is great, and it loaded fine with music files from the USB stick, so WHY won't it take my picrure files? Don't tell me it doesn't support jpegs? O2 technical folk have not called me back, despite promising they would.

wilbur · 02/06/2009 16:28

Ok, ignore that. I have now got my beautiful boys gazing at me from the Joggler. It is def having problems reading my jpeg file names - it changed the SLR file name to total gobbledigook unless it's something like "KIds on Beach".

Feeling love for Joggler now my kids are inside it....

BecauseImWorthIt · 02/06/2009 17:24

Can someone please tell me what the memo function is for/how to use it?

Oh - and have you noticed, we're not stickied now ...

MerlinsBeard · 02/06/2009 17:28

yes i noticed we weren't stickied - i couldn't find the thread!!

(i want o be able to choose my stickies too!)

My alarm works !!

In fact it went off just as DS1&2 were about to kill each other so i told them it was a naughty alarm

MARGOsBeenDrinkingTea · 02/06/2009 18:13

I like the music and picture option. I haven't got an i-pod/mp3 thingy so have never bought music from t'internet before. Thanks for dragging me into the 21st century.

wilbur · 02/06/2009 18:21

Actually I got the music on mine by just uploading a CD onto the pooter and transferring the files.

I think the Memo Function is a man's idea of a To Do List [laughs] - someone thinks that we remind ourselves about things to do by writing ourselves little individual memos [snurk] with TITLES [rofl] and that we remember to check said memos [holds sides] at exactly the right moment [weeps hysterically].

I cannot believe the Joggler doesn't have a proper To Do list. It needs an app like Remember The Milk that will sync with the calendar and also have alarms that can be sent. The thing that really sold it (or would have done if I didn't have a free one ) to me was the idea that I could text it a message about something I need to do as it swam into my mind halfway round the supermarket - and the thought would be grabbed before it swam right back out again. So far, it doesn't seem to be working like that. Although maybe if I were on o2, that would be what the inbox is for.

BreevandercampLGJ · 02/06/2009 18:41

I only went out for an hour..................the alarm clock reset itself to 12.00 midnight.

ReginaCovington · 02/06/2009 19:23
