• I liked that although it’s low calories, it doesn’t lack flavour – it still tastes good and I’d be happy to eat it in my sandwiches as a low calorie alternative to butter. It’s perfect for my little boy as it’s made with all natural ingredients.

It was easy to spread straight from the fridge. Family enjoyed the taste, although not as much as our usual spread. Cheaper, but unfortunately it contains palm oil.

Would chose it if our usual brand (naturli) was unavailable. Much better than all the other widely available spreads.

Yes. It tastes good and is good value for money. Would be even better without palm oil though.

The family liked it for me it tasted a bit bland but excellent for baked goods cakes,biscuits etc.

I would for my family as they have requested it in the next shop but for me I prefer butter.

Yes I would. It spreaded well and it's plant based so ideal for lots of my friends and family that want an alternative.

I thought it made a change to my usual spread so was reasonably satisfied, and DH didn't mind it too. However, the DCs preferred our usual spread.

I think I trust them equally to other spread manufacturers.

They certainly seem to have plenty of options.

I liked it as a change from my normal spread but my DCs disliked it because it was different!

It was nice for a change, but I think I prefer my normal spread.

Our normal spread gets used by everyone in the family, while this didn't so I think we will stick with our usual spread in the future.

Given that we're not buying it again, I don't feel I could recommend it generally. However, I might mention it as an option to a family member who doesn't consume dairy. It may or may not be suitable for them, but if it is, it might be an option for them.

we were pretty satisfied. It worked very well in baking, was easy to spread but not quite as tasty as real butter on toast

I liked that it's vegan as I'm trying to reduce my use of animal products. It's fine in baking. I was disappointed to see that it contains palm oil. What did your family like or dislike? My family really disliked the taste and wouldn't eat their sandwiches.

Fairly satisfied, it tasted a lot better on toast or a hot bagel when it melted in, the rest of the family didn't like it much spread on sandwiches, says it has an odd taste.

Really satisfied. My fussy 7 year old liked it and couldn't tell the difference between the butter we usually have. I thought it tasted good.

I liked that it's soft enough to spread but not too soft so it still feels buttery.

Yes. It's got that typical flora flavour. You couldn't tell it was a light version.

It spread very easily, the colour was ‘buttery’.

Yes we were all happy with it. We used it in buttercream, and the taste was pleasing.

Yes, it's the first one we've all happily used as it caters for vegans but the non-vegans are more than happy with it

The taste, it wasn't obviously vegan, texture, melting point

Yes its the first one we've all liked, usually I have to buy more than one, and they can tell if I mix them up by mistake on sandwiches/toast, but all will happily swap to this

100% yes because it saves me buying multiple types to suit everyone, and will make preparing toast/sandwiches etc a lot quicker and less stressful if we are all using the same spread as I can't mix it up, and butter/spread isn't easily identifiable when you are handed a sandwich until you take a bite and taste it, whereas if I give the wrong filling to the wrong DC they can immediately see and just swap over.

Yes, it's a brand I grew up with and I think the move to being a vegan brand is great and makes a lot of sense for Flora. I would recommend for party catering as you don't have to worry about vegans or children with a dairy allergy, and it's been thumbs up all round here on taste tests

My husband still prefers Flora Proactiv. I quite liked it when using on toast and crumpets. My son preferred it to nothing (I usually end up giving him sandwiches etc without spread because we only usually have Flora Proactiv in.)

Flora does meet all my family needs. However, different product seem to be required for different family members.

My son liked the buttery taste to his sandwiches. I do find the product very easy to spread on even thinly sliced bread.

We would definitely choose Flora as a brand. I think I will end up buying Flora Proactiv for my husband and use Flora Light for my son. Moreover, I would like to try baking with it which I haven't got round to this time.

We've had no complaints from the children which in the past DD hasn't liked the taste of other spreads but is eating it no problem!

I thought it was lovely, a nice flavour, but not the best I have tasted. My kids were not as keep though.

I would buy it, but as there are so many spreads and butters on the market, it would not be on our family table.

Only if they're happy with the taste of margarine, and the added palm oil, Butter lovers I expect would not be converted.

• Would you choose New Flora Light for you or your family over other margarine and/or butter brands? Please explain why or why not. Yes. It's good for sandwiches etc. Not tough and easily spread so doesn't rip bread etc.
• Would you recommend Flora Light to friends or family? Please explain why or why not. I cook for most of the family and I've switched to this so now all the family uses it.

Overall we were happy with Flora light. Flora is one of the brands of spread we already use and is definitely a brand I trust, it's a brand that's been around for a long time and I only have positive experiences with Flora as a brand no negative. Flora is a brand that offers a good range of products from lighter products to buttery ones which I like as it gives you more choice as a consumer.
I liked that Flora light had no artificial colours or flavours and is made from plants as food is packed with too many artificial things these days and its good to be able to give my family naturals products, especially as spread is something we use everyday. My husband liked how easy the Flora light was to spread. The only dislike was my son, he said he didn't like the taste but that was when the Flora was quite thick on his bagel, after that comment I tried thinner spread and he never mentioned it again.
I would definitely buy Flora light again as it is a healthy change I can make to mine and my families diets without them realising and without having to compromise on taste. I would also recommend Flora light to others as it was a good spread, nice taste and easy to spread.

We have had Flora in my home for as long as I can remember. It has been such a feature, I think that is wht my brother named his daughter after it!

Yes, with a variety of diets int he family, low cal, vegan, heart health etc it touches all the buttons.

I liked how spreadable it was. We use a lot of butter and usually straight from the fridge, so margarine is always a pleasure, in that regard. Taste was neutral.Howe family liked that - in as much as they didnt really notice it and it did the job.

Taste was neutral, provided necessary moisture and greasiness. It was unremarkable and not unpleasant. I think marg should blend into background, unlike butter which announces itself.

Yes, have always used it. This version has added benefits of lightness and lack of additives. If I am not using butter, which I do prefer, this is what I would grab.

Vegan sister would like it. My mum always uses Flora - I might put her onto this one, as I think it is better for her. Good for my daughter who doesnt like butter but cant have sandweiches without something wettish in them.
