This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who tried and tested Toomies bath toys. Selected testers tried one of 3 toys.

• Toomies Fountain Rocket (suitable for 12 months+)
• Toomies Octopals (suitable for 12 months+)
• Toomies Foam Cone Factory (suitable for 18 months+)

This product test was open to all UK MNers who have at least one child aged between 12-24 months. Selected testers received 1 toy to try out.

- Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Toomies Fountain Rocket: I liked the colours and the idea of creating a fountain, I was apprehensive as it looked a bit heavy and cumbersome for my little one to hold; I was not sure if he would be able to hold it up ( he likes to do things for himself).

- What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My son loved me making the fountain over him, he wanted some of his toys to go for a ride. I think he would have liked to get the star fish out. He seemed to want a door on it.

- Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, it was well made and good fun letting the water run out, he liked sitting under the fountain.

- Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes, it is great fun and works well.

- If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I think for a 3-4 year old it would be good to have additional features like removable characters (think bath shape/colour sorter) and and a door.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? Roomies Fountain Rocket. Initial impression - looked colorful, simple, good size for the bath.

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? Liked the fountain feature...they had loads of fun getting one another soaked.
• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? Probably not this one, a bit too simple in design and after the initial new factor, the little ones were back to playing with the sponge and rubber ducks.
• Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? Yes, as something different to make bath time fun, perhaps for younger kids though.
• If you could add or change a feature what would it be? A couple of additional features would be great to prolong the interest. I have twins so having something that could detach would be great so they could share and build together.

We tested the foam cone factory, just wanted to add an update. Water has managed to get inside the sprinkler shaker so the little balls don't rattle now which is disappointing. As it's designed to be in the bath, it should really be water tight. Foam factory itself still working well though :)

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Me and my child tested the foam cone factory. My first imperssions are that It is very bright, colourful, eye catching and most of all very fun to play with.

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Both my child and i loved playing with the foam cone factory, making the foam ice cream, lots of bubbles , lots of laughter it was absolutely fun and we enjoyed every bit of family time.There isn't anything that we disliked.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes absolutely it was enjoyable and keeps my child entertained in the bath.

• Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

I would definitely recommend this to family and friends based on my experience on this toy.

• If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

i would make the lever a bit more easy to pull seeing as i had to pull the lever because my child was struggling with it.

Toomies Fountain Rocket

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
She liked the bright colours and the starfish. Also enjoyed the the fountain of water.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, DD is very into falling water, so this was right up her street. The fact it let out a lot of water (rather than the trickles from her stacking cups) cause a lot of excitement.

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Another function would be good, to keep DD's interest for longer. Perhaps a function to choose when the water is released.

Forgot to give my first impression! First impression was good, the rocket looked bright and sturdy.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We were sent the rocket to test. My initial impression was that the box was colourful and engaging. The packaging was informative. The toy seemed sturdy and quite unique.

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My daughter is 2 and initially she said "wow a plane" until I corrected her. My daughter found it easy to dunk the toy in the water and then lift it up to see the water fountain. She then used a bath cup to fill the rocket with water between the gaps. After a while she started to use other toys to play with along side the rocket for role play.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes as it is different and moves away from the rubber duck type bath toys that tend to get mouldy.

• Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes I would and I would be interested to try other toys from the brand.

• If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

As my daughter was using the bath cup to fill the rocket with water at times, I would perhaps add a small cup to the product which she could better grip that could be space themed. Maybe add some astronaut figures too for role play.

We have loved being able to test one of the Toomies Bath Toys.

- Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Octopals bath toy. We loved all the different colours and all the little parts. My boys couldn't wait to get it out of the box and in to the bath.

- What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
We liked that there were enough Octopals for both children to share, they could be stuck on the bath and my older child enjoyed matching the numbers together.

- Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I would choose this toy over others as there are many ways in which you can play with it and it kept 2 boys entertained and playing happily together without needing a bath full of other toys too.

- Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes I would recommend Toomies Bath Toys, after testing the Octopals and enjoying it I would be quite happy to tell others how good it was or give as a gift.

- If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
As with all bath squirters there may be the build up of mould when the toys are not dried out properly after use, if there was a way to protect them or clean them properly it would be great.

Overall we have loved being part of this product test, we have really enjoyed trying out the Octopals and would be happy purchasing one for friends based on how much we liked it. Thank you Mumsnet for this opportunity.

We tested the Octopals toy - I was impressed that the packaging was all recyclable. My son was interested in the toy as soon as I took it out of the packaging, he was very excited about playing with it at bath time - we had lots of giggles as he worked out how to use the squirters, and he continues to love playing with it a week or so on. I wouldn't change or add any features, and would recommend this to other parents.

The Octopals. Great first impression, very bright and colourful and engaging my little one couldn't wait to open it, packaging very easy to get into.

My kids enjoyed squirting each other we found them nice and soft so very easy to squirt, they enjoyed picking their favourite octopal out of the funny faces,pouring water out of mum octopus for a mini shower and placing them on the correct numbers

No holes! Or a way of cleaning them. They’ll end up mouldy in a few months and then have to go to landfill

We tested the Foam Cone Factory - initial impressions were good, and I liked the packaging. Bright and colourful

My son loved playing with this in the bath, the handle for the foam was quite stiff however and required help from Mummy! He loved playing with the ‘sprinkles’

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? Personally I prefer others but it wouldn’t stop me buying it as a gift for a friend with a baby

My 4 year old was SO excited to receive this toy and to Play with it

Liked the brightness of it

Kids love ice cream etc so real fun factor

My 4 year old has played with it non stop when bathing and pretending to be an ice cream man and selling ice creams to her brother - brilliant for role play

When first used it attached it to the bath but it kept slipping down and we thought would never work as the handle is stiff. Attached it to the tiles above the bath and works great now.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Possibly. Don’t really like buying plastic nowadays though. Also will be a nightmare to clean

Yes

• If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Make it easier to get out of the packaging to start with. Recyclable plastic. A way to colour the bubbles ?!

The fountain tocket. 1st impressions were really good.

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My daughter luked the water coming out thr bottom but it comes out way too quickly so she can't really enjoy it.

No, it's a bit boring as doesn't do anything else

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Water needs to come out slower.
Starfish annoyed my daughter as she couldn't get to it.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Toomies Foam Cone Factory. It looked like a fun, different bath toy and we were excited to set it up.

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

It was easy to use and my 2 year old enjoyed filling the cones with foam after being initially wary. He loved the sprinkle shaker accessory and plays with it a lot in the bath.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would as my son has had a lot of fun with it and enjoys handing us cones to pretend to eat. I think it would be a good present for friends children.

• Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes I would it was easy to set up per the instructions and has been fun to use.

• If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

It would be good if soap was provided that produced different colours of foam.

My little girl absolutely loved playing with this in the bath the bright colours and spraying the water and sticking them to the wall.

Yes I would we loves bath toys as it encourages her to take a bath so she can play.

I wouldn't change a thing it is perfect as it is.

We have tested Toomies Fountain Rocket. My girl liked it as the fountain effect is quite innovative.

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

The best thing in this toy is the fountain effect and to be honest it is the only thing that may impress. The quality of the fountain rocket is very good, so are the bright colors. My child was disappointed that the star is not doing anything.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

No, I wouldn't.

• Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes, I would. But the fountain rocket should be recommend only for smaller children.

• If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

I would add something that makes sound.

• Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The octopus. Initial impressions were good. Very bright and colourful and as others have mentioned fully recyclable packaging.

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

The one year put the small octopus straight in the mouth and chewed. The 5 year old started squirting everyone. He enjoyed it a lot. He also liked that there was multiple octopus that he could play pretend with.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes.

• Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes. Already have.

• If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

My main concern is mould in the product after multiple uses. Not sure there is much to be done for that.

- Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
The Foam Cone Factory, it looked really. Dc5(just 2) seemed to like the look of it.

- What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
He likes that he was able to pull the lever himself. I don’t like the fact it’s tricky to clean.

- Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, I probably would.

Yes as it seems quite solid & like it will last well.

- If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Probably a way to get in to it to allow for proper cleaning

We tested the Toomies snow cone factory my initial reaction was I was pleased it would suit both DC of differing age

• What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Both children loved it the younger (2) loved the bubbles (and mess) and my 6 year old spent a good extra hour in the bath “testing” out everything she could.

• Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would and would replace if it where to break as it’s now a staple at bath time.

I would and am already planning on getting one for my nieces birthday.

Nothing both DC love it. I will be buying others in the range.

Toomies Rocket. My son loved it and liked how you could pull it apart and was like a sieve on the end and was like an adventure play. I would recommend it as it made bathtime great

If there was anything I could change I would do it in different colours and more accessories with it
