  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? Tested Toomies Octopals and initial impression of the toy was that it's high quality and the packaging is impressive.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? My child enjoyed the colours, pouring water out of mother octopus, arranging them on the tray. I'd like it to be easier to store and possibly smaller in size.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? Probably not, because of the storing issue and concern about baby octopuses getting filled with mould.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? I would in general recommend Toomies Bath Toys, because they're high quality and come from a reliable brand.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Make it smaller possibly, consider options on preventing baby octopuses getting mouldy inside, adding sounds and/or more patterns.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the ice cream cone factory toy. Initial thoughts were that it looked bright and eye catching.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My children loved using the cones to make ice creams and pretending to eat them (or actually eating them). They enjoyed adding toppings (sprinkles and sauce) and telling me what flavour it was.
The machine made great foam but the lever was too hard for either of my children to pull down themselves- I had to help them every time.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I wouldn’t buy this bath toy over others due to my children not being able to use it properly.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

I would recommend Toomies bath toys as my children did enjoy playing with it.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would make the handle easier to pull for smaller children.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Toomies Fountain Rocket. I liked the way it looked my youngest wanted to play with it straight away.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My child loved it. He loves that its a rocket. He didnt dislike anything about it

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes i will be buying my nephew the same one in a few months time for his birthday. Its a great toy

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes previously we had the Octopals and my son enjoyed that one as well. They are quite sturdy toys and last a long time.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the "Toomies Fountain Rocket" and I'm so glad we got chosen for that one. Upon opening the cardboard outer box we were met with the toy all in recyclable packaging huge bonus points to Tomy there! I liked that it was a simple bath toy these are a favourite in my house of boys. My 22 month old couldn't wait to get it out of the packaging and once it was seen by my other boys 6 and 7 they couldn't wait till bath time to play with it either.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

What's to dislike it's a simple fun toy great for the bath my boys played together for a good half an hour yes all in one tiny bath but they loved it and the stories and tales they were creating just from having this new toy was great to listen in on.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

I would definitely buy this toy again not for us as we kindly got to test it but I've told friends about it for their kids. And if I need a present for anyone of this age group it's going to be on my list.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

I already have lots. It's been a huge hit in our house.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Now there is one thing I think could make this toy even better and that's if you could use it in the shower too. When the toy is not in the bath the water doesn't stay in the rocket, if Tomy made it so the bottom of the rocket was level with its feet, so when the rocket is stood the cap is closed the rocket could be filled and then when lifted the cap releases and out comes the water. As it is now you try to fill it and the water just trickles out of the bottom so it is difficult to fill. We like a shower as much a bath in this house. But all.in all the toy is great for bath time fun!!

Thanks so much for letting me test this great product it's been great and the boys absolutely loved it.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Tested the Toomies Octopals and first impressions were really positive. The colours are bright and attracted my daughter immediately, she couldn't wait to play with it.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
She loved the colours and the size was good, the extra octopals were a great hit as they were hand size and she could fill and squirt herself. The only dislike I had was that although not too large the size of the base was hard to store when not in use.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I would absolutely chose the Toomies toys over others, the first impressions were great and even my older daughter played with it and helped the youngest line up the numbers so is also educational as well which is a bonus.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I definitely would as it has been a great hit and will continue to be as they love bath time so this is getting lots of use.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Like others, I am concerned how long it will last before the smaller Octopals get mouldy, have been trying to empty the water out after every bath and so far okay but I assume that it wont be too long before we will have to get another.

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? Cone factory, great product but too much packaging and the ties were a nightmare I think one went back into the toy after I cut it. It was so difficult to unpackage.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Kids loved it and the concept. The foam actually looked like mr whippy. Only problem is it did slide down the wall with the lever. Also the lever is a bit stiff for smaller kids.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? Yes as the concept is great
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?better walk fixing
labyrinth · 02/09/2019 11:26

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals. Brightly coloured and sturdy. Both my DS (1) and DD (4) were excited to play with them.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Nothing, they loved it. I looked it up online and saw that it retails at around £11. I think it would possibly be a bit pricey and I'd only buy it in the sale.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

We all liked it and I'd definitely consider tomy toomies in future.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

The floating pad was a bit redundant once all the baby octopuses were stuck to the side of the bath. If that could have some sort of function that would be great

Loulabellet78 · 02/09/2019 12:07
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Otcopals toy. First impressions were very positive - beautiful, plastic-free packaging and the boys were delighted to unpack all of the bright, colourful parts and put them together. They were playing together with them even before getting in the bath!
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Both boys (1 and 5 years old) loved spinning the Octopal so that all the baby octopi fell off. Once in the bath, they delighted in filling the parts with water and squirting each other - and me, and the bathroom - repeatedly. My 1 year old also loved the central part, which he could hold up and see water streaming out of.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes - but absolutely not for bath time! Having eight water squirters in the bath quickly descended into very fun chaos. The bathroom was soaked. I was soaked. My husband, who stuck his head around the door to see what all the laughter was about, was soaked. This is a wonderful toy, but it has become a paddling pool toy rather than a bath toy!
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes, if they wanted a pool toy. I'd only recommend it as a bath toy to someone with a fully tiled wet room!
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Market it as a pool toy rather than a bath toy.
fairybeagle · 02/09/2019 12:35

We tested the toomies fountain rocket. My initial impression was good, it was big, bright and colourful and was looking forward to see what it did.

I liked the fountain that came out of the bottom, it looked great and was an easy concept to use.
However as others have said it was a bit basic. It only does one thing and my little boy got bored quite quickly. I felt it was a waste of a lot of plastic for a very simple toy. It would have been better if there was another feature.

No I would not purchase again as it was too simple for my child and although it might entertain a younger child for longer they would not be able to pick it up.

Not based on my experiences with this particular toy.

I would add an extra feature to the rocket. Maybe a little person/or space figures who could fit inside the rocket.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Well made, bright colours and well thought through - the little sprinkles shaker is a particularly nice touch.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Unfortunately my little girl is a few months short of suggested age suitability (she's 12 months) so it's a little high for her at the moment. She was very interested in it and laughed when i showed her how the ice cream pull worked. She loved the little shaker (she's at the age where she shakes everything Grin).

I love how sturdy it is - we have had absolutely no issues with it slipping.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes because you can keep it out (attached to the tiles) and not have to pack away.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Not sure if it gets mouldy - how would I clean it on the inside?

AndWhat · 02/09/2019 14:29

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Octopals, bright and able to ply with straight from box, all packaging recyclable so easy to get rid of.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Both my boys (6 and 1) enjoyed playing with this toy the youngest stuck them to the side of the bath and pouring water out of the octopus head whilst the oldest enjoyed squirting the smaller toys and sorting the numbers out. The youngest was unable to apply enough pressure to squirt the water out though
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Depended on price, would not wish to pay a lot in case of mould forming in the squeezers.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Unless mould forms I wouldn’t change anything
rachaelsit · 02/09/2019 15:54
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested Octopals which we have bought and used with first born.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
They liked that they are sticky and of course squirt, they also like balancing them on the floater.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Probably but I personally don’t think there’s any need for the float plus it’s a pain to store in the bathroom.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
No float. Waste of plastic.

For the record, we’ve had this toy from a previous purchase 3 years ago and they now squirt flecks of dirt from inside (obviously no way to clean them inside) but that is the nature of toys in water. The outsides remain stain free.

glastogal · 02/09/2019 16:11

- Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals - I thought the box was a bit dull but on opening it up I was very impressed with the bright colour and quality

- What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My 21 month old ds likes the shower in mummy octo and that the babies stick to the wall. We've been using them to practice colours and he's getting the hang of the squirting function.
*

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?*
I like this toy but I'm not sure it will last as long as I would like due to risk of mould - therefore I'm not sure I would buy it. *
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?*
Yes, the build quality is good and the packaging was fully recyclable 👍👍 I would try other toys in this range.

- If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would like a way to keep the interior of the babies clean.

Katie0102 · 02/09/2019 17:30

We tried out the Toomies Fountain Rocket. First impressions were great, she was excited to try it as was my partner, the big kid!
She loved that the water came out of the bottom like a rocket, we also liked the chunkiness of it as it was easier for her to hold and the bright colours really appealed.
We have already recommended it to a friend with a baby as a potential Christmas present.
Now we have used this, we wouldn't purchase this again but we are interested in the Octopals.
As stated the only thing we would change is having some cleaning instructions.

Phizpop · 02/09/2019 17:44

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The rocket fountain.
First impressions were that is was quite big, well made, colourful. DC couldn't wait to play with it and took them a while to realise it was for the bath!

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
It doesn't do very much. The fountain is really the only feature. The star on the side seems a bit of a waste. It depends which way you fill it if bath water is low as to whether the star compartment fills. The water comes out so quick that if you blink you miss the star move. I'd hoped to use it to get them used to water over head, but it's tricky to get to head height without the water coming out. Neither child have enjoyed it over their head. I did like that it's seems fairly easy to clean. Less places for mould to fester.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

No, not enough interest to warrent buying it again. It's too big when 2 children in a low level Bath.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

The others sound interesting, but generally bath toys seem expensive when they often end up mouldy. Water bottle and a surface would give a similar effect I think.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

The star, needs to be the length of the rocket so that you can see the water going down more effectively

xkezzkezz90x · 02/09/2019 18:47
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the foam cone factory. First impressions of the toy were that it looked like alot of fun, nice and colourful and durable.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Both my 18 month old daughter and 3 year old son both enjoyed playing with it but the lever was a bit stiff so mummy had to help with that. I like that a little liquid produces alot of foam so lasts a long time but i had to stop them eating the foam icecream. Also i found that it didnt stick very well and slid down when using the lever. They enjoyed using the cones as water toys too.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I would purchase this as well as other toys.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I would recommend this toy but for slightly older children as the lever is too tricky for little ones to pull and she enjoyed pouring water from the cones more than the foam but feel children a little older would love it.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Get it to stick to the wall better and make the lever easier to pull apart from that great toy
Yogurtcoveredricecake · 02/09/2019 19:11

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Ice cream cone factory. Brightly coloured with a slightly terrifying character on the front.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

The packaging was awful - it might be recyclable but it took me about 15 minutes, several swears and two pairs of scissors to get the toy out. Suction pads don't stick properly so it kept slipping. The lever is too stiff for my DS to use without my help. It creates a lot of foam so the machine is difficult to clean. Closed ended toy which isn't the sort of thing we usually play with (although he does have some similar toys)

DS (19mo) was very excited to see it and play with it but was quickly frustrated because he couldn't work it. He was more interested in the shaker and pouring water with the cones.

It's probably more suitable for an older child who could use it with role play and imagination, DS is too young for this yet.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
No.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Easier lever arm.
Smurf123 · 02/09/2019 19:32

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals...initial impressions were good. Bright colours and my son enjoyed playing with it on the floor before it made it to the bath. Like that it was recyclable and no plastic ties.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Son liked it and I like that the pals are right size for small hands to squeeze.. I would have liked if they could stick to the base as this would make tidying and storing easier
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yea I quite liked it
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Suction to the base plate..

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Octopals
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

The packaging was bright and also recyclable! My older children couldn't wait to try it out in the bath! Huge hit the 1 year old up to the 9 year old enjoyed playing with it

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes, especially after the reaction from my younger three children
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Different textures would be good
binday · 02/09/2019 22:42

-Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
The Foam Cone Factory. I thought it was a great idea, and looks really fun.
It is sturdy and easy to use. My DCs have found lots of different ways to play with it and I’ve been given a lot of foam ice creams from their “shop”. My DS5 wasn’t even the one testing it and had just as much fun as his sister.
I love that there’s not too many parts, so tidy up is easy after play.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My child LOVED this! Even before we set it up in the bath, her and her brother were making imagination ice creams for everyone in my house! They beg for bathtime now so they can play with it.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Definitely
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes. In fact, I already have.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
It was quite difficult to open, with lots of little plastic bits and tape. I had to use a pair of scissors and a lot of strength to get into it.
Sid98 · 02/09/2019 23:06

I tested the - Toomies Fountain Rocket and i liked the design and style of it.

They liked the star which was inside and liked when the water poured out but it was very boring and tiring they found it.

I would not as it doesn't do much and they got bored easily.

I would not recommend.

it would be nice if it had much features to it like some glow in the dark or it would swim in the water.

LollySox · 02/09/2019 23:39

-Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Octopals toy and our little girl starting playing with it straight out of the box (while we still in the living room!) I liked how colourful and interesting it looked.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
I liked the lack of plastic in the packaging and my little girl loved sticking the octopals to any flat surface.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I would as it has multiple ways to play and didn't take up much space.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes I would
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would maybe make the octopals legs work like cogs so when they're in the right spots they turn together.
Pandamodium · 03/09/2019 02:02

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

The foam cone factory and my first thoughts to be honest was Christ This is going to be messy.

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? Both my 2 and 6 year old loved this toy they love this toy and it keeps them entertained longer while they get washed/there hair washed.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes for the fun factor and the the sturdiness, there isn’t much my two year old CANT brake but this appears to be one of them.

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Definitely I’ve already reccomended it to my sister and SIL with younger children.

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Nothing my DC love it possibly a guide on how to clean it since bath toys attract mould.

satine1991 · 03/09/2019 07:37

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We had the rocket, my first impression was it looked a very basic design, there wasn't much to the toy, but it was colourful and aesthetically pleasing

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My child loved the toy, i have a 19 month old who absolutely loved it, as did her 3yr old brother. They loved the colours and played rockets before they even got into the water. When they did get in the bath i had to show them how it worked but they loved it, they spent ages filling it up and letting the water run out over each other. I do think if it hadn't have been for them both being in the bath to play together I'm not sure how long my daughter would have played with it for, my son however has a new favourite bath toy. The concept of the toy i found to be great for my kids but it is basic with very little functionality and aside from water confidence doesn't seem to have much other educational purpose.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Probably no, but only due to how basic it is, the children may disagree though as this is their favourite bath toy currently

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
I would but only for the fact of my much my son loves the toy

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Without changing the design of the rocket i dont know their is much to add or change, maybe a dial to change the speed the water empties or a release as previously suggested and as previous posters have commented, a way to prevent black mould or cleaning instructions to remove it would be good.

sunrain · 03/09/2019 08:10
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy? Foam cone factory. Looked great and really fun. Children were beside themselves with excitement to try it! The packaging was intense... I get they need to protect the product safely but was over the top.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My 4 year old loves it and my 19 month old does too but struggles to use. I'd say good for this age gap as works well to share tasks.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No. Too difficult to clean and seems like it won't last well.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? No. It's a great idea and really fun but I couldn't recommend as the flaws let it down.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be? Make it easy to clean. stronger suction. Easier for younger children to work lever.
