My 15 month old daughter has been testing the fountain rocket and she has been loving it. I agree with some of the other reviewers in that it doesn’t really do much and could do with a couple of other features to it. It does let out quite a bit of water so wouldn’t be ideal for younger babies than the recommended 12 months. I definitely would buy it for someone else as a gift as it’s a good little bath toy but as with so much brought for kids, I’m not sure how long she will be interested in it for.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the toomies fountain rocket, I liked the design and you could tell it was good quality and not going to break easy. I thought it came in a lot of packaging which could be cut down.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My child liked to pour water out the rocket creating a fountain. He found this quite funny. However he got bored of the toy quite quickly as there wasn't much else to do with the rocket. I think it will still be enjoyed in future bath times. I liked the size and the fact it will be easy to store or just sit on the side of the bath. It's also really easy to use.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes I would buy the toy but maybe not over other bath toys that have a bit more to do.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes and no depending on the age of the child. A younger child yes but not one older then 3.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Add a person that can be placed inside the rocket or star shapes at the top of the rocket. However the fountain ideal is brilliant and I wouldn't change that.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Octopals.
It looked bright colourful and fun

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

We love squirting the water at each other, the little ones can easily squirt the baby's and they have great fun squirting each other (and me haha)
We even used the squirting to get little lady used to getting water squirted on her head so we can progress to using the shower head to wash her hair which she hated before but now using the octopals she thinks it's a good game now

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Definitely it is lots of fun

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes definitely

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Possibly add a stopper of some description to the bottom of each octopal and include a bottle brush type thing to make cleaning them easier and to prevent any mould building up.

Minster2012 · 05/09/2019 20:39

Which toomies bath toy did you test & what was your initial impression?

  • the octopals. I liked the packaging & the recycleable aspect of the packaging though I’m not sure it all actually had to be tied really. But it looked bright & fun & inviting & easy to use for small fingers.
  • what did your child like or dislike?
He liked being squirted by the small octopals that got squeaks of laughter each bath time & holding them & trying to stick them on the bigger one, but other than that the bigger bit doesn’t get much love. He disliked the central rainfall part that got no attention so was quickly discarded. The pals don’t stick to our inside of bath it’s made from tin inside & they slide down so that feature doesn’t really work for us I’m afraid.
  • Would I purchase this toy over others?
Probably not as to put it away like I like to at the end of bath time there’s a lot of pieces to move which is time consuming & I could buy squirters with 2 or 3 bits instead
  • would I recommend toomies bath toys to my friends & family?
Yes it’s a nice toy I can see it being great fun for twins for instance & easy to use but it would depend on the price

If I could add or change a feature what would it be?

  • make a couple of the octopals do something different but I’m not sure what!! Also maybe the centre piece do something too or have a ball going round it or something as that’s a bit boring too

Once the squirting novelty wears off I’m afraid it will be quickly discarded & my boy is only 13months

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested TOMY Toomies Octopals. It looked great, bright and colourful. Eye catching.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My son liked squirting the water, stick them to the sides of bath tub. Pouring water from mummy octopus is very interesting feature for my little one. I did found number matching a big plus, but maybe when he is older.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I think it would be a great addition.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes, I would.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
It would be nice if octopus can change colour depending on the temperature of the water.
stereolovely · 05/09/2019 20:59
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
*Octopals. I wasn't awestruck by the box design, was very impressed with the completely recyclable packaging and the actual toy was bright, attractive and the wee squishy toys were lovely soft silicon.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
*My 21 month old DS liked the pouring waterfall bit of the octopus head the first few times and has enjoyed squirting the wee octobabies the last two baths. Hes shown no interest in the stacking bit on the large green body piece.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
*I would buy this for around £5-£8, but not for any more than that.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
*Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Add some instructions on how to care for it.

Testers please answer the questions below:

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the tommie octopals. It was very bright nd colourful.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy? My kids gmhad this out of the box before we even took it to the bath and they was very excited.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future? Yes I would say so all my kids really enjoyed playing with it from my 1year old to my 7yesr old.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy? Yes it's fun and you can squirt the toys, count with them and match the numbers and balance the pals on the leaf
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
That the pals suctioned on to the pad or the walls of the bath.
Moo92 · 05/09/2019 23:59
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Foam cone factory - it looked great fun and my little one was very excited yo use it!
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
It's fun and colourful and the foam feature is very good but the handle is very stiff to pull so she is unable to do this herself. The suction pads are also not very strong so it keeps sliding off the bath and tiles.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Maybe as it is fun and you can hold it up whilst she's playing when it slips.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes, although you do need another way to hold it up, I may try extra suction pass at the bottom to make it more secure.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Make the suction pads stronger or add more of them and make the handle easier to use so that the little ones can use it themselves.
Cineraria · 06/09/2019 00:00

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the Octopals and my initial impression was that it looked fun and eye-catching

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
He really loves the different bright colours and is attracted to the faces and varied expressions. He loves trying to catch the water falling from the cup and squirting and suctioning the small squeezy toys.
He didn't dislike anything but wasn't very interested in the numbers, which is unusual for him as he usually likes pointing out numbers on his toys. I think maybe they didn't stand out much with everything else he enjoyed about the toy.

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I think it would be a good choice. It's something I might get if I was looking for a gift for a friend's child.

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes, we have enjoyed it a lot and as my almost four year old also likes it, I imagine it will be something the younger one can enjoy for several years.

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I think it would be helpful if the squeezy toys were made of two pieces that an adult could take apart for easier emptying , drying and cleaning.

BonjourMinou · 06/09/2019 09:40

Thank you for choosing us!

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the rocket. My initial impression was that it was quite big and didn't seem to do much (sorry)

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

They liked the fountain of water that spurts out underneath. My 17 mo. Liked running his fingers under the fountain and the older 2 liked filling it up and making the water pour out.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Maybe. It's nice to have a space themed toy as it's something a bit different from all the usual fish and sea creatures ones.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes I think so. I work at a swim school and I'm going to bring it in to work to see how the children get on with it. I think it would be good for the nervous swimmers as well as the babies.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

The starfish in the window doesn't seem to do much. Maybe another feature added to the rocket, like a spinning top or something to make it a little bit more exciting?

Embracethechaos · 06/09/2019 10:05

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Octopals, fun colourful with attractive faces.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Liked the big eyes, called it an owl. Liked the ability to put the mum' over the babies and play peakaboo.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No nessersarly
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I think the base is very big. However, I'm not sure how the toy would work without it. It adveisies that it can be used for number matching but numbers are too tricky for a one year old so maybe a multicouled base.
sally2489 · 06/09/2019 10:25
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
the fountain rocket. It looked fun and entertaining, which the children loved!
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
they loved pouring the water in and it aswell as watchingtbe star float inside. It was simple, but fun.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
definitely if the price was reasonable, as it kept them entertained well
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
definitely, as it was fun and entertaining
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
i would maybe add any more features to it, like detachable parts which you could pour water with, or other floating figures on the other sides.
bohemia85 · 06/09/2019 10:32

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Foam cone factory. Well packaged, easy to set up, clear instructions, son very interested immediately.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

He is probably still slightly young for this toy (16months) so doesn't really understand the ice cream concept but loves the sprinkle shaker and the bubbles that come out! I like that it attaches easily to the bath and keeps him entertained!

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Yes definitely. He has never had such a great bath toy. Thank you!

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes definitely

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

As previous posters have said the handle is currently quite stiff and my son is as yet unable to do it himself but this may loosen up as the toy ages. Thanks again for the toy - we've had great fun with it.

Crazymoo82 · 06/09/2019 12:31

We tested the octopals toy, initial impression was really good, my ds loved the bright colours and that there was so many toys.

He was amazed with how the baby’s could stick to the tiles or side of the bath also loved that he can soak his sisters!
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Possibly
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes depending on the child , age etc

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Unsure if I would change anything
Mamaofalittledragon · 06/09/2019 13:36
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
Toomies Octopals. Bright and colourful and also fun.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
That it was colourful and lots of elements to play with. I am a bit unsure if they will get that lovely black mold eventually. I guess I will just have to wait and see.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
I would and I would definitely get more of the toomies range.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes definitely. They are bright, colourful and easy to use.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
Make sure they are Anti mold. Easy to clean. More Toomie toys for us to play with!
Moreteaplease84 · 06/09/2019 19:33

-Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the fountain rocket ,it looked big and colourful. My son was excited to play with it straight away.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
The fountain bit at the bottom was good and produced a good shower which was fun but that was about it. My son got bored of it very quickly and never choose to play with it again after the first couple of minutes.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Personally no. Maybe for a younger child but my son is 17 months so needed something much more engaging l.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
No,the toy is aimed at over 12 month olds but I think toddlers would be wanting a toy that is more exciting at this age.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would have liked it to have more features, the only think it seemed to do was spray water out of the bottom.
custardcream1000 · 07/09/2019 10:36
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the toomies fountain rocket. My first impression was that it was larger than I expected and really sturdy.
  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
My 2 year old really likes this toy. He loves the fountain feature - he likes to lift the rocket above his 7 year old brothers head and completely soak him with water. They have both been having lots of fun playing with the rocket.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Yes.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Yes
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
My son has been putting his dinosaurs inside and pretending they are flying to the moon, but it would have been nice to have some type of alien figures or foam shapes included. If figures were included, the toy would grow with the child and encourage imaginative play.
userinfinity · 07/09/2019 12:26

I tested the Foam Cone Factory.
First impressions were it was well built, colourful and appeared to be simple to use

My 20 month old son is not a fan of baths, and just until about a month ago, has started making less of a fuss with the help of certain types of water toys so this came at the perfect time. He spent the day carrying it around and playing with the cones and was happily surprised I was taking it into the bath with him. It was easy to set up, and straightforward to use. Only niggle is that the lever is very hard for him to pull and I have to do this for him. He’s having loads of fun with it, enjoys filling and emptying the cones out and then wanted to take the toy back out with him.

I would certainly look into this brand when purchasing bath toys due to the good quality designs, however with this particular model, as the lever is rather stiff, I’m not sure of the age suitability. I would recommend this brand to family and friends.

  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the Toomies Fountain Rocket. My daughter loves it at bath time and just as general play. She doesnt have a toy like it, so when it first arrived she was really intrigued.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My daughter loved that it could pick up water from the bath tub and really enjoyed watching the water spray out of the bottom like a fountain. I love that it kept her busy but found that i had to show her how to use it so it could spray out which was a bit time consuming and fustrsting for her.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Possibly for a birthday present for another chiId but i do think it is very simple. I do wish it had a few more features, singing or making bubbles.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Maybe if the child is 12 to 14 month.
I wouldnt reccomend it for a baby older that that because it doesnt have many features.
However it can be played with just as a rocket outside of the bath.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
It would be great if it lit up, sang or blew bubbles but i would change any of the existing figures.
InvisibleToEveryone · 07/09/2019 16:22

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

What does it do?
Bright colours.
Packaging all recyclable.

What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

Grandson loved soaking everyone and everything with the middle mummy bit of the toy.
Quite liked sticking the smaller pieces to the wall .

Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Having used it , probably not, it doesn't do a great deal, grandson lost interest quite quickly.

Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
This particular toy I'd suggest to a younger child, grandson is nearly 2 now and it was too young for him really.

If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
It's cute for someone younger, for grandson something a bit more involved.

InvisibleToEveryone · 07/09/2019 16:23

Sorry should have said we tested the octopals bath toy.

porridgeface · 07/09/2019 17:45
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

We tested the fountain rocket. I was initially a bit underwhelmed by the product but the bright colours are appealing.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

My child loves filling the rocket up and watching the water come out. It's a good size for him to hold and doesn't get too heavy when full. The star fish is a bit small and ineffective really. I was pleased that it is easy to clean.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

Probably not, while he likes pouring the water that's all it does really so it doesn't hold his attention for too long and there are other toys which pour the water but have another feature. It just feels like it has something missing.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Yes if there was a good deal on it.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would add a little astronaut or character that could be removed from the rocket. We also have the toomies pirate ship and the little pirate gets played with more than the boat.
riotlady · 07/09/2019 18:08
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

Octopals, thought it looked colourful and fun.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

I thought it looked great but my daughter wasn’t really interested! She kept trying to put the little octopuses back on the main section but didn’t have enough fine motor skills so would knock them all off and get frustrated. She liked the rain shower piece but we have a similar function from her stacking cups already.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?

No.

  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?

Probably not.

  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?

Make it easier to balance maybe.

Andrea12345 · 07/09/2019 22:56
  • Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?

I tested the foam cone factory with my 21 month old daughter. The first impression was that it looked like something what my little one would love to do while having her bath. She got very excited when she saw it in the bathroom. It isn't too big or bulky and it is nice and colourful, perfect for little kids. My little girl loves playing role play and making ice creams for me so this would be great toy if it worked.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?

I liked the size and that it had nice colours. Loved the idea of making ice creams from foam.
What I really disliked about it was that my 21 month old daughter wasn't able to push the handle down on her own as it's quite stiff. Also after 2 days it stopped working.

  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
No I wouldn't for the reasons mentioned above.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Not really
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be?
I would make the handle a bit more kids friendly or change age group for this toy because 18 months old won't be able to do it on their own. Also it gets very dirty after a while with all the bible mixture inside just going mouldy so it would be great if this could open so it could be clean after the each use.
sarahbtsn · 08/09/2019 04:07

Which Toomies Bath Toy did you test, and what was your initial impression of the toy?
We tested the fountain rocket. Initial impressions was that it was a good size for a bath toy and had lots of bright colours on it.

  • What did you or your child like or dislike about this toy?
Likes - big, bright, the fountain aspect. Dislikes - a bit basic, not very interactive, doesn’t keep baby’s attention.
  • Would you choose to purchase this bath toy over other bath toys in the future?
Probably not. Not enough to do with the toy. Very little play tune because of this.
  • Would you recommend Toomies Bath Toys to your friends and family based on your experience with this toy?
Probably not.
  • If you could add or change a feature what would it be
Add some more things to make it have more longevity. Perhaps an astronaut figure or some more interactive bits in the rocket e.g things to open and press.
