NOW CLOSED

This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Nappies with their DC.

The following items were tested:
Size 1 Newborn Nappies 24 pack x 3
Size 2 Newborn Mini Nappies 44 pack x 2
Size 3 Midi (4-9kg) 56 pack x 1
Size 4 Maxi (7-18kg) 50 pack x 1
Size 4+ Maxi Plus (9-20kg) 44 pack x 1
Size 5+ Junior Plus (13-27kg) 36 pack x 1
Size 6+ Extra Large Plus (16+kg) 26 pack x 1

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the product: "Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why our nappies now have the magical absorbing tubes so we can ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection, and last year Mumsnetters asked for a wetness indicator on size 1 Newborn Nappies, so we added one!

There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimise our carbon footprint.”

Testers - Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have:

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? 4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
  4. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey that we sent to you will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note: the winner will be sent 4x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? The XL pants on a 1 year old and 3 year old
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Really liked them. Seemed more comfortable than other brands I have used and no leaks at all! Liked the sticky tape bit, as the Asda ones I usually use don't have them, and I loved this feature. They were just plain white and it would have been nice to see a design as my boys like to comment on the type of pants they are wearing! Asda ones are normally giraffe pants 😂
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes and I already have. 4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not? Absolutely
  4. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Lidl's nappies have been far superior than any other brand I have tried

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? My baby was 7 weeks and we used size 1.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Really liked how thig they were and the cut out for the umbilical cord. I also thought the design of different animals was really cute.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes.

4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, really great product at a brilliant price.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? On a par with our usual brand. Even after a 4 hour night wear baby's bum felt dry. We had one wet leak but my daughter was in a pavlik harness so made putting nappies on a bit harder.

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My son is 20 months and we tested size 5+

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked the cute print with the elephant and bird on, I liked the soft material and strong feel to the nappy.
Our overall impression we were very impressed with the quality of the nappy we had no leakages whilst testing even when my son had a poorly bum they coped and there was no leakage. They are a good fit and we will be buying now instead of another leading brand as these are more affordable and match the leading brand with quality.

  2. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes definitely and I have recommended to friends because of the fact that they are really affordable and a good nappy.

4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes we have now switched to this brand because they're more affordable and match up to the leading brand that we was using and we have a local Lidl nearby.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? They match the leading brand as stated we had no leakages even when my son had a poorly bum.

Thank you for the opportunity to test has made me realise you don't need to buy the top brand to get a good quality nappy and I can now save some pennies. X grin

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? I have used size 1 and 2 for my 4 month old
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I liked the nappies for value and they were always a good fit for him. I didn't think they lasted as long as pampers brands- and at times were more prone to tear when putting them on.
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes definitely- but I would recommend buying them alongside another brand such as pampers (using pampers at night and these in the day) 4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes I would because they were good value
  4. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? As stated above I think pampers and the co-op nappies lasted longer - however I think they were similar in terms of leakage as I think this is usually to do with how someone has put the nappy on

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

Age: 8weeks, Size 2 Newborn Mini Nappies

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

very good, I liked that they felt soft (more like a fabric than disposable nappy), and no leaks even when more than a few hours between changes

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes, even without them coming up in conversation, have recommended to other mothers in my local breastfeeding group, particularly upon knowing the price of these compared with other nappies

4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would buy (and have bought) again due to the value for money offered, although this does mean a specific trip to a Lidl, but the value for money offered is worth the trip and I buy in bulk

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage?

Very good compared to most other brands I have used, excepting one other (premium) brand. If buying a supermarket brand, these would be my first choice

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? They’re great! Perfect sizing, very absorbent, blue line for wet nappies is fab. We had some explosions but I’ve yet to find a fail proof nappy for poo explosions! Nothing to dislike from me.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes definitely.

4)*Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, particularly if they’re priced well.

  1. How would you compare the Lidl Lupilu Nappies to other brands that you have tried in terms of dryness and leakage? Similar to others.

Aldi and Naty have always been my favorite nappy brands to date with oldest child. Keen to keep going with These Lidl nappies as they are so cheap!
